The Fireplace

Continuing our quest for good greens, we started with an order of greens for an appetizer. Of all the places we’ve tried in the greater Poland area, these were quite good although my husband and I agree Johnny’s is currently our favorite.
I had the fish Italian style while my husband had the Tuscan chicken. I got my fish without the cheese as somehow cheese on broiled fish didn’t seem a good fit. The fish was ok but nothing special and would have been quite bland without the tomato sauce, onions and peppers. My husband’s chicken over penne dish was a bit watery and he said it was good but would not get it again. My side of mac and cheese was also very watery and a big disappointment. I love mac and cheese but ate less than half.
My wine was served in what should have been a water goblet and the first glass had a bit of the foil from the bottle in the bottom. It would certainly have been nicer to have a proper wine glass than what I received.
Service was spotty at best, sometimes attentive but we went for long periods without seeing our waitress. The restaurant was busy but being an established place, I expected better from them.

Great date night with my husband. The live band was fun! We ordered the fried vegetable platter for our starter. It was a large portion of zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and onion rings. The batter was crisp and not greasy at all. Very yummy served with cocktail sauce and a ranch dip. I ordered the veal parmigiana with whole wheat pasta– it was wonderful! The veal had a ton of melted mozzarella– almost like getting a fried cheese for free! The whole wheat pasta was also beautifully cooked. The marinara sauce was sweet and wonderfully seasoned. My husband ordered the «world famous» fish. It was good — but not world famous good. We thought it would have the same breading as the fried vegetables– no such luck. It was bread crumb coated and I think baked — not fried.

Random stop on Tuesday evening. Low and behold, we found a local gem! Summer patio in full swing with live band «Bustin Loose“How fun! A happy Senior crowd filled the dance floor. Food was great. Bread and salad were just right. Italian leaning but lots of options. Steak was perfectly cooked homemade pasta rich and generous. Service was a teense slow but the place was hoppin so we didn’t mind. If you aren’t an ageist… Go!

Ordered take out and picked it up not a long wait at all. Ordered a Hamburger and Meatball Sub both came with fries. Very good price for the size of the Hamburger and Meatball Sub. Absolutely delicious, they let you put whatever you want on your burger. I will eat here again if I get a chance. Also the fireplace seemed very nice, a bar setting. Did not eat in but appeared to be clean and had good atmosphere. I recommend this bar/​restaurant for locals and for people visiting.

Good food. They maintain a good atmosphere, especially when they have some of the hottest bands playing, like Frankie and the Sensation, Brotherhood, and Rhythm Nation.
Never a dull moment. I would visit again and again! Tommy and Karen are wonderful. It’s awesome that they are back, the previous potential buyers would have run it to the ground. Lots of people think they know how to run a restaurant/​bar, and I believe they were in over their head.
Things are back to normal and normal is GOOD!
