I was going to visit my sister in Saline for lunch. I left early because I wanted to find another way there besides using I-94. I meandered my way on M-12 business through the lovely city of Ypsilanti. I wanted to go by my favorite Homegoods so I needed to find Carpenter Road. By using Ellsworth I came across a GNC in the Roundtree Place shopping center. It’s a modest center anchored by a Walmart. it also has a Fantastic Sam’s, a Game Stop, a Sally’s, a check cashing place, a Chinese restaurant, and some other stores I couldn’t remember. Since I needed some ear candles and I knew GNC usually has them I stopped in at opening. Peter, the associate, was working on a display at the front of the store. I asked him if he had them and he did. Because he was so easy to talk to, meaning he wasn’t one of the usual meathead lunks that GNC employs. I told him about my Vitamin World visit the previous day and why I wouldn’t go back there. Peter had alot of customer service experience and it showed. As we got to talking he told me about why he got into GNC(for the sake of his new baby girls he wanted to get into shape) and I told him how 20 years of retail had done havoc on my body. We discussed several things that might help. He was bright, knowledgeable and ready with advice and good tips. I may have gone in for one thing but after talking to Peter, I will be back. He thinks that he can get my régime in gear! Look out, world! I’ll be looking good!
