Really not worth the extra money I paid… The first house call(to give an estimate) was very professional and gave me a lot of false confidence. The crew was fine, but they painted on days that were just a little too cold, and within weeks I had the first signs of cracking and peeling. The company tried to upsell me on a $ 350 extra service, which I declined. Apparently this wasn’t communicated to the crew, so they did it anyway(mm-hm) and then the company tried to charge me for it. Seriously. When I called to get them to honor their warranty and fix the peeling and cracking, it took weeks to get through(due to some kind of staffing problem?) and then when I did get through they refused to do the back porch and only did the front, for reasons not entirely clear to me. They also failed to paint an area along a dormer that I told them they had missed the first time. Totally utterly not impressed. Do not recommend.

Elysium Painting had completed the interior of my house two years previously. Recently, I was surprised that a few areas needed a touch up so I applied the paint they left(labeled master bedroom) which should have been the same shade I had picked out for the living room but was 3 or 4 shades lighter. It was off so much 3 areas had to be totally repainted. The job took 14 man hours(two painters from 9am to 4pm) for which I paid them $ 1725.00. For their first painting of the house I had paid for expensive ceramic paint from Anderson but this is not what they applied downstairs. They used a cheaper paint, approximated a lighter color and that’s why when I touched up with expensive master bedroom paint it did not match. They could not get a sample to match from the can of master bedroom paint(Honey Sand) but had to use their swatches; so it is not an exact match to the master bedroom or the facing living room wall(cheap lighter paint). This cannot be denied as it is visible to anyone with eyes to see. Paint does not fade that much in two years and ceramic paint would not have needed a touch up in that amount of time either. David Landau is a cheat. Again, this second time there was a move to cheat me with the paint. I asked for the receipt and was emailed one for $ 400.00 for paint and materials. When I objected to this as suspicious Laudau emailed a second receipt for about half that amount saying the paint quality was so good he didn’t need that much paint. How can you email two different receipts for the same job? There was also a problem with the mailing of the certified check I sent because Landau put a fictitious business address on Google. When the check did not reach him I had to go to Chase Bank to see if I could put a stop on it and issue a new one. The banker told me this was something she had never done before. She looked up Elysium on Google and called Landau and he confirmed it was an address he made up because he thought it would look better than his apartment address. It sounded like he started yelling at her to get his money and she replied I had performed«due diligence» by mailing it to his published address. She gave me her business card and recommended that I wait for it to be returned by the post office which I did and then sent it to his apartment. The painters themselves were wonderful. I wish I could have paid them directly.
