I moved to Ypsi. after 19 years in Wayne, MI. I was a little leery about finding a new HVAC company so I actually went to their facility and talked to the people behind the counter. They come out every year to do the preventive maintenance on my furnace, A/​C & humidifier. Greg (The old man of their technicians) actually dusted the ducts in my furnace room (to prevent spontaneous combustion) and put washers under my A/​C compressor because the ground had shifted and the compressor wasn’t level. He even advised me against using super furnace filters because they overwork the draw on the blower and reduce the lifetime by 2/​3rds.

I have used Pat Walters for a number of years and have never had a problem. I own several rental houses and always have called them for service and installation.
I’m not sure what is happening but there seems to be a shift away from customer service.
They installed a furnace 3 years ago and installed the condensate pump incorrectly. The condensate has been running over the circuit panel the whole time and the base of the furnace is rusting out.
Brent sent his repairman out to take a look promptly, but all they did was switch the pump around.
When I spoke with him about this he blamed me for not keeping a closer eye on the furnace and said that was all they were going to do. His repairman confided in me that he felt they needed to replace the furnace altogether. I’m sure they saved some money by putting a band aid on the problem but I have several large projects coming up but I will be calling Koch and White.

I believe Jim B., who gave Pat Walters only one star, just had a misunderstanding or something just went a little wrong, but I would encourage him to give PW another chance. I bought my home in 2000 and have had PW service my furnace exclusively in that time period. They are honest, with reasonable rates, and are unfailingly quick to respond. The latest tech worker sent out was professional, informative, and gave us a good assessment of our furnace so that we could make an informed decision moving forward. Jim B., give PW another shot. I think you will have a better experience! I heartily endorse PW.

The Lennox furnace installed by Pat Walters 5 yrs and 2 ½ months ago just died. Warranty lasted for 5 yrs. My prior furnace lasted 30 years. The service manager said Lennox wouldn’t recognize warranty and that he wouldn’t discount parts or labor for 15 minute service call. I like to buy local but with a $ 75 service call charge for a company that’s 10 minutes away and when the bill is almost $ 500 I would expect the company to be more customer service oriented. I would not recommend Lennox or Pat Walters since neither one will stand behind their product.

I am a COSTCO member and inquired through them about HVAC services. It turns out Pat Walters and Sons is the HVAC service provider for all the COSTCO stores in SE Michigan. Their bid was competitive, after factoring in the $ 300 COSTCO card that comes with the deal, and they sell highly rated Lennox systems. The workmen arrived on schedule and did a nice job – including cleanup. One of the owners stopped by during the installation to make sure all was going well. All went like clockwork and everything has worked perfectly since. Who could ask for more! Whether you are a COSTCO member or not, I recommend you go with Pat Walters and Sons. They will do a good job for you.

A family-​owned business with years of experience. Their technicians are professionals and very knowledgeable. Service is definitely their top-​priority. I will surely contact these guys again for anything related to heating and cooling services.
