SinDerElla and Paula both do a kick-ass job, and there’s a great fun, friendly atmosphere in here.

According to Unilocal I’ve reviewed 44 businesses and given five a five-star rating. I’m not an easy grader. But if I had to pick one of them as the best of all, it would be Paula’s Barber Shop. I go to SinDerElla for a haircut and a bit of a psychological mood enhancement at the same time. Both that I receive are better than I have found anywhere else. The haircut is extremely attentive and responsive. She’s never gone wrong. Beautiful personality.

I know this is a barber shop but years ago through a personal friend I was hooked up with SinDerElla, hair stylist extraordinaire! I had just lost my favorite hair stylist in Ann Arbor(she moved) and a friend told me about Paula’s Barber Shop. SinDerElla is the greatest. If I bring in a photo of a cut or a color she matches it. If I describe a blend of colors for my hair she matches it. Sin really listens. One time it wasn’t exactly the way I wanted it and she had me come back the next day and she redid it. Hey, hair science isn’t perfect! Sin is the most patient, fun, cool barber ever. Oh, I’m a woman and I feel so comfortable in the barber shop. Paula, the other barber, is fantastic, too. The place has a steady stream of customers(a lot of repeat regulars, it seems) and they seem to love the place. The shop just has good vibes. So, if you’re a man you’ll get a great cut and if you’re a woman Sin will color and style you like no one else. She is known for rock and roll hair and I’ve seen her do some really wild stuff, however, I’m not that wild and she manages to get my high and low-lighted hair just right. Also, the prices are substantially lower than Ann Arbor or upscale salons. Really! I feel like I get a nice deal here.

Comfortable, casual atmosphere; a couple of very nice and very fun ladies, and a good cut at a decent price. Who could ask for more? Pauls’s is fabulous!

I have been going to Paula’s Barber Shop for a few years. It is a great deal at $ 16. for a woman’s haircut.(Shampoo is extra so I just go with clean hair). Paula and Sinder both do a great job. I love the general feel of the place, a step back in time. No appointments, I just have a seat on the bench until my turn and enjoy the conversation while I’m waiting.

Decent haircut at near chain barbershop price. You might want to beware of the odd female barber with the home level low quality hair cutting tools. She is no hair stylist to rock stars, unless they are on LSD. You could leave her chair with a strange haircut. Paula is a professional barber. She will give you a good hair cut and rational conversation too. Parking is a problem. Try the city lot across the street. –Jay O

Rock Out your Hair at Paula’s Barber Shop– A Hair-Stylist to the Rock Stars is sure damn hard to find in Ann Arbor– When I say«Rock Star Hair Stylist” — I’m talking about the kind of stylist who upon motioning you to her chair, can totally relate, understand, and sympathize with the emotional condition you and your hair are in. My new BFF is SinDerElla That is her trade mark name. Throughout the years I have been to EVERY kind of hair shop imaginable–«The up-scale-glass of wine in hand as they design your locks, the coupon offering chains such as Fantastic Sam’s, the African American Parlors, the gay beautician’s, the Beauty School’s, and authentic barber shops-in my search for«The ONE» who I would want as a sista! I thinky that it was the Universe that put«rock and roll hair by SinDerElla» in my path this time for a serious hair style intervention, I am thanking the Universe every morning upon checking out my «new morning look.» All it took was for me to come clean to my rock –n-roll hair dresser about why my hair was in such emotional distress. This is very important to weed out the«real» from the«phony» beauticians– for sure. I explained to her that, «After being officially divorced, I got drunk, pulled out my scrap-booking scissors, placed a hand mirror between my thighs, and with drink in one hand and the scissors in the other cut away in the dark, and could have cared less how I looked in the morning.» That is all it took, for a genuine, celebrity by night and indisputable Rocking beautician by day to grasp the locks of frustration I attempted to cut from my past. I knew by her response to my condition, that she would treat me with love, honor and respect– something I never got from any other stylist for being honest, or my ex-husband for that matter. If you are feeling frumpy, disgusted with your look, on the edge of freaking out over how God must be against you, I recommend stepping into Paula’s Barber Shop in the Historic DePot Town in Ypsilanti, and allow SinDerElla to work her majic for a hot second. She will change your life! Tip her BIG… The price for a hair cut is only $ 16.00… How you feel after-ward is priceless!
