Great end of the day. My motor home was stuck in the mud because of our heavy rains. They brought 2 trucks out and the owner came out to check up on things because it was taking awhile. They all jumped in to help and had a great«can do» attitude. Thanks.

Awful experience and terrible service. An employee named Mercedes arrived to change a tire as we were stranded in the snow. She showed up with a headlight out, athletic clothes, no gloves, no flashlight, did not have a tool for our lug nut, no air pump. I don’t understand how unprepared this company was. She then left to get a tow truck and an air pump. As she returned, she then told us she is not going to tow us because she does not have chains for her tires(although after checking, chains were not required on our route). We then called a new tow service and they took care of us within minutes. Do not ever call this company, they won’t help you. They are unprepared, unprofessional, and clearly don’t know what they’re doing.

Living up in the mountains of northern California, sometimes the unexpected happens. I came down my dirt road to find an approximately 18″ tree fallen across the roadway. I made the mistake of trying to go around and ended up a little off the road, but any further attempts were going to slide me into a tree. Fortunately a neighbor found me and chainsawed the tree out of the way. Still, I had to find a way off the side of the road where I was stranded. A longtime auto-club member, I called the roadside emergency service and a competitor of Fred’s was sent out. The man was rude and barely tried to help me. From the beginning his attitude was extremely negative and deteriorated into flat out mean. He gave an anemic, seconds-long try, and pronounced it impossible. Then, he left without the courtesy of even letting me know that I was on my own. Long saga cut short, I was referred to Fred’s Towing. The service man who arrived had a less-than-90-day employee, still in training, with him. They were able to recover my car in under twenty minutes. «Piece of cake,» they both said. Needless to say, Fred’s Towing saved the day and it will be my go-to wrecker or tow-truck service provider wherever I am in Siskiyou County.

Locked our keys in our. After getting the run around from another local tow company, we called Freds. He showed up 10 minutes later and unlocked the car in about 5 minutes. Fair price and awesome service!

I got stuck with three other people(in the car) on August 142011 between Dorris and Weed on US97S. I got referred to Fred’s Towing via my roadside assistance program(Allied Insurance). I got 100 miles of free towing but for the remain 200 miles to my home had to pay $ 700/- I have no other data points so cannot compare but it seemed ridiculous to me. After I came to know for the first 100 miles they get reimbursed only $ 100/-I felt for the remaining miles I got milked. Since I had no previous experience I accepted the rate. The truck was very uncomfortable to ride. Practically there was no leg space for the passengers on the rear row. Even the tow truck driver(33 year CHP veteran) complained how uncomfortable his own seat was.
