J & D Family Diner

I wish I could give 6 stars! I absolutely love this place! Fast, friendly service and amazing breakfasts that cant be beat. They have very generous portion sizes so come hungry!
My favorite breakfast is the Flying Biscuits! Soft buttermilk biscuit served open stacked with scrambled eggs, chicken fried steak smothered in country sausage gravy topped with cheese and crumbled bacon, served with your choice hashbrowns/​country potatoes. Absolutely everything you could want in a breakfast! Highly recommended

I picked this place because of the nasty review from a obviously mean spirited person. The place is just fine! A family diner in a small town. Staff was quite nice. I’ll go back for the food AND the service. Since the other reviewer called the waitress stupid, I’d call him a moron! Cheers to the owner on his response!

The atmosphere is lacking but it makes up for it in the burgers. Had a bison burger– SO GOOD. Get one. You’ll love it. The end.

Probably one of the best burgers that I have had! This is one really cute diner; not to big, very recently built. Very much a local diner; we are driving through and wanted to stop somewhere that had a local feel and boy was this the place.
The bison burger is awesome! Nice and juicy but not constantly dripping and very flavorful! The onion rings were killer too!
Our waitress was very friendly and always checking to make sure that we had everything we needed. She was also taking time to chat and get to know her customers when she could.
An all out great diner and well worth it, if you are driving through, make sure and stop here!

Fantastic. Seriously some of the best diner food ever. The burger was hot, fresh, juicy, and with all the veggies I asked for just right. The club was excellent. Fresh, cold meat, perfectly toasted fresh bread, crispy bacon, cool and crisp veggies. Hot fries with the perfect amount of crisped outside. I’d be back again tonight if I were staying in town.

Best burgers in siskiyou county by far and the friendliness of the staff is superb. i have been there three times now and im never disapointed.

Best kind of diner. Its full of locals, has a relaxed atmosphere, cute sassy waitresses, and great food. I had the philly cheese steak and was extremely happy. I mean, ive had better, but not for under 9 dollars, or even under 15. I am tired of places with soggy white bread dinner rolls around their philly cheese steaks, and this one had good quality sweet french bread and everything was cooked and proportioned exactly as it should be. The meat isnt super high quality, but its well cooked, and how good do you want it for this cheap, really? I will definitely stop again my next time coming through Yreka.

I’ve had almost everything on the menu and, all is good chow. My wife and I frequent this place all the time. Try this place !

Terrible dining experience. We walked in with 2 other people in the diner. We ordered promptly. The waitress forgot our coffee, we had to go to the counter to get it. After 20 minutes we asked where our food was, she then put a rush on it. After 33 minutes we left with no food. Disappointed, dismal experience. Avoid this place!!!

Food was best we’ve had locally in Yreka in a long time. The best burgers & fries in Siskiyou county for sure. We didn’t have breakfast but hear the stuffed hash browns & biscuits with gravy are amazing. They have great special high school student lunch menu. Nice staff too.

Went there a couple of weeks ago for dinner, it was great. I had the Meatloaf and my companion had the fish and chips. They were both great. Can’t wait to go back and try the biscuits and gravy, which I hear are awesome!

Was up there a couple months ago and stopped in after court with our Attorney. He had a cheese burger and fries, brother had a grilled cheese and fries, I also had a grilled cheese and fries as you can not get breakfast there after a certain time… (That is why 4 stars instead of 5)…which is what I usually eat when in a café all hours of the day and night :) The food was excellent as it is at your place in Hornbrook :) Service was prompt and our Attorney raved about the hamburger being sooooo good! I would like to recommend that you put an egg salad sandwich on the menu, if I can’t have breakfast that is my next best thing and then I could have it for lunch if I’m late for breakfast :) Just s little mayo, mustard and salt and pepper. Please don’t use that nasty miracle whip that so many places use, or add onions or anything else for that matter. God that would be so nice :) and crinkled fries would be a great addition :) With all due respect, loved the place the way it is but I’m so damn picky that it would really help me out if you made the additions :) Best of luck to you all in your new establishment, I know it’s going far. Food is fantastic!

This is John the owner of J&D Diner. 1^st of all I take great offense to you attacking my staff in the manner you did. obviously it was more about a personal attack or vendetta than a review.2^nd I am aware of your visit and your special request. You wanted to alter the 007 scramble to omit the meats (which if you took the time to read the description of the 007 it states NO SUBSTITUTIONS). but we did it for you. then you complained it didn’t have spinach in it. well it doesn’t come with it and when our waitress said you could add what you like with an add on charge per item you didn’t want to. You have every right to comment on our food and service but do not have the right to personally attack our staff with rude comments.

Wonderful food. I had the stuffed bacon cheese burger and it was hot and juicy. The side salad was fresh and the ranch was thick and creamy. my mom had fish and chips which were piping hot. Our friend had chicken strip which were hot and a bowl of fresh fruit. We really enjoyed ourselved

The dumbest trailer trash waitress I have ever met. I forgot to leave you a tip and I apologize for that so here is your tip, quit playing candy crush long enough to and take an order. If I am the only customer in the restaurant you certainly have time to listen to my order. I heard the cook ask you for clarification on the order and you blew him off and his comment was I’m just trying to get the order right. I sincerely hope the owners have enough capital and reserves to survive your waitressing or lack of it. If I could leave a negative 5 stars I would.
