A phenomenal view, but during my recent trip there was a ton of road construction leaving this destination unavailable.

Based on the two views below… its Vista Point. obviously, no services or trash cans … one of the things that we dont need to waste taxpayers money to install maintenance for a trash can. Anyway, I love the view of Mt. Shasta after days of rain and snow. Mother Nature does impressive things to beauty naturally.

Closer to Yreka CA than the Oregon border along that 23 mile stretch of road and sitting on a promontory off of southbound I-5 only is this vista point. It exists solely to provide you with a view of Mount Shasta. The view is impressive, as is the serenity of the far northern California landscape. There are no services whatsoever. In fact, there’s not even a trash can, because someone would have to schlep up here to periodically empty it.

It us a mile before the exit southbound on Hwy 5, not accessable northbound. It is a great view and a nice stop after you’ve been driving for a while(especially if you are out of Oregon) but there are no services here at all. It’s just a parking lot on top of a hill with a great view of Mt. Shasta and the valley north of it.
