Well, what a surprise this gem turned out to be. Funky, Western barn décor. A shorts and Sharks tee shirt dress code. But oh my… the food! I had the«small» ribeye. It was more than I could eat. Cooked medium rare… perfectly. Seasoned just right. Wonderful baked potato with all the fixings. Vegetables were actually cooked. I prefer them that way. Not over cooked, not raw. Salad was cold, fresh, and generous. My dining guest had the filet mignon. Equal raves. Yvette, our server, was as delightful as the meal — attentive but not hovering, a ready smile, knowledgable, friendly, and engaging. Wow. Who knew?

We ate here yesterday… place was very well reviewed for steakhouse so we tried it while we are working in the area. The steak was very good I had the ribeye. The atmosphere wasn’t the best tho truthfully we should have eaten in the bar area it was softer lighting and much quieter. It was very loud in main dining room. Kids screaming and just not peaceful. I love kids lol but just not what I was expecting here. So good food but diner feel for atmosphere and not diner prices ! Lol

I was undecided about giving this a three or a four. Eight of us went for dinner last night. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrée except one. The code tips drew raves, the Cajun penne was excellent, the steaks were done perfectly and the tiger prawns were delicious. The chicken parmesan over spaghetti didn’t make the cut. The spaghetti was lukewarm, the marinara was generic and forgettable. The chicken was tender, but the mozzarella and parmesan hadn’t even melted. Portions were giant. The dinner salads were good. Two of us had soup and it was lukewarm at best. The server was very courteous and polite and insured we had refills. The time between salads and entrée was exceptionally long. Prices were very reasonable. I would go back and give them another chance for five stars.

Always grateful when I can have an opportunity to dine here. Don’t let Yuba City fool you, the ranch house would be popular in Chicago, simply put. I have been blown away with the easy-going service and food quality each time. This is the only place west of the mississippi that can get you a steak that is still moving. Jokes. The medium rare prime rib was perfectly prepared and tasted like I bit into heaven. I could have cried. To put it in a nut shell, they are steak experts. As for the food portions, be prepared to take some left overs. Upscale restaurant with left-overs?! They want you to have enough. Overall, this is truly an amazing and special restaurant. My recent experience was impeccable on all facets.

Yum yum!!! Amazing steak… how do they do that? It is pricy but we split a Tbone, order water and get two house salads to keep the cost down. Always nice staff and great small hometown feel.

Really good food, great service and the prices are reasonable for a top-notch cut of beef cooked to perfection. They also have a good kids menu selection. There is not a bad choice to be made when ordering an appetizer there all very good. Can’t wait to return with the family.

Haven’t been back since we had the worst waitress in the world. The food is good and the atmosphere is dark and old timey(in a fun way) but it’s not really that kid friendly of a crowd. Used to go there a lot but for price I just don’t know if it’s worth it to eat Bar can be fun

I met a friend here for dinner and we were seated quickly even though it was pretty crowded at 5:45 on a Saturday. We were greeted by our friendly server who took our drink orders. She returned a few minutes later with our drinks and took our orders. Our salads showed up in about five minutes and the entrees in about 10 – 15 minutes after, which was perfect timing, the kitchen is on track. We both had the filet which was a great cut of meat with no fat, and cooked to perfection(one well, and the other medium). The accompanying vegetables and baked potato were also very good. A great experience — very good food and very good service. The place reminds me of one of many old, funky roadhouses along the old highways and back roads of California, but don’t be fooled by the outside the food was really good. My only complaint would be that it was extremely loud inside and impossible to have a conversation, so we didn’t stay long after we had finished our meal instead we headed to a coffee place to sit and enjoy some quiet conversation. If it had been quieter we might have stayed for desert. I don’t know how they could solve the noise issue but it would certainly make the meal just that more enjoyable. Overall a five star experience. Seems like they excel in meat so I’ll stick to that but they do offer a few fish, chicken and pasta entrees. I highly recommend the Ranch House for anyone looking for some great food in a nice family-local type atmosphere.

I want to come here SOBAD!!! Every time I drive by the place is packed!!! I heard good stuff about you guys and maybe one day I will be able to come by. I just figure it would be a long wait and there’s usually no space to park a car.

Went here for my daughter’s birthday. Quick service. We had trouble deciding on what to order. Luckily, the appetizer menu had cow tips. The meat was tender and very tasty. We had the Rib Eye steak and the Cajun Penne. The steak was perfect. Tender, cooked just right and not alot of fat. The Cajun Penne was just a little too spicy for me. My fault for ordering spicy food. The flavor was good, but not exceptional. Can barely wait for a return dining experience

EVERYTHING was excellent! The lady and I went on a date night and it was our first time here. Service was prompt, waiter was courteous, and the food was delicious. We started with the calamari and it was fried to perfection. The sauce was tasty too. She had a mixed green salad and I had the ribeye. I asked medium rare and that’s exactly what I got. For two glasses of wine, calamari appetizer, a ribeye and a big salad, we walked out of there paying less than $ 60. We will CERTAINLY come back!

Oh my goodness this is a great place to go and eat. The food is good, price is fair and the staff is very friendly. Yuba City’s best kept secret.

This place is a church for carnivores. The meat is is always tender and cooked to perfection! I love their Steaks, burgers, pastas and salads. The wedge salad is off the hook! They also have these tasty ass rolls that are like crack for a fat kid! I would rather eat at the Ranch House that Ruth Cris and that is no joke! The staff is amazing! There is little to no turnover and the staff is like family. If you go into the bar, Joe and Joy will take care of you and both pour great drinks! My glass is never empty and the conversation is great! I love this place and would encourage anyone to check it out! Hell, let me know your going and I’ll meet you there!

As frequent guests at the Ranch House we keep returning because the food and service has always been consistently good. We would love to give Ranch House four stars but there is one thing that keeps ‘bugging’ us and that’s the FLIES! Flies are a constant nuisance at this establishment. Constantly having to ‘shoo’ flies while trying to enjoy the meal is not only annoying, it eventually ruins ones appetite for the food and causes real concern regarding contamination in the kitchen. The Ranch House management seriously needs to consult a pest control firm and see if there are any possible solutions to this unsavory problem. Possibly modifying door entrances and window screens might be required. Sadly the problem seems to be worse every time we choose Ranch House for dinner which has now become such an unappetizing proposition that we may not be returning.

We love going to this place. We usually have a party of 8, and they accommodate all of us. The service is top notch, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is so delicious, very consistent, and home made. Well worth the hour drive!

This is the best steak house around. I tend to be very picky when it comes to my steaks but they know how to cook them here. The portions are huge and everything is homemade. Our service has always been top notched and their bar tenders know how to make a stuff drink. Yummy!!!

What a GREAT restaurant! I didn’t know it has been in YC all these years. Thanks to Unilocaling and being a meat eater, I had to stop by. The style of the restaurant is great, sitting in a corner near the Orchards, it has the perfect name and location. The inside was very nice, old fashioned, western style! I like how right side is for restaurant, Left side for bar, plus a decent waiting area to sit with some privacy. Female restroom was clean and has neat portraits on the wall of cowgirl and horse. The whole atmosphere was comfortable and cozy. From the moment I walked in, to leaving, staff was very friendly and welcoming :) Menu was easy, simple, and great choices for me. I’m so used to always ordering prime rib, steaks, or rib eye, that the Cow tips dinner seemed like something new to try! I was really happy with my choice. Cooked medium in a brandy sauce, very delicious. I had a nice wedge salad, baked potato, and vegetables. Food was GREAT and it was satisfying, filling for the price! Also, I got my Birthday dessert, a nice end to a wonderful dinner. My drink, the Moscow mule was refreshing and went very well with my dinner. I couldn’t even taste the alcohol, those are the best drinks ever! I definitely plan on returning and I wouldn’t mind ordering the same thing again, Cow tips were tasty… I noticed the hours are 5pm to 9pm. Thank you all so much, this is how a Sunday dinner should always be :) I’m looking forward to coming back soon!

Five stars for preparation, for flavor, for friendliness and ambiance. This is a real gem. Great food prepared properly and served fast. Servers here are wonderful. With my ribeye I enjoyed a Pinot noir from Mark West what a great pairing. I have this spot bookmarked for the future. Excellent experience!
