This is a wonderful local park that happens to be just minutes from my house. It is well-maintained with a nice playground, dog park, skateboard park, basketball courts and walking trails. There is a public pool attached to it which is clean and beautiful. My only complaint about the pool is the hours. It is open just a couple of hours each day and it happens to be during my child’s nap time. I know that the pool has to cater to a lot of interests but essentially the limited hours preclude us from being able to use it. Boo. Another welcome addition would be some kind of available shade on the playground, though this complaint is not limited just to this park. We live in California, where summers are especially hot, yet every darn playground is in the hottest part of each park with no trees or shade available.

Came here thinking it would be fun for my little brother, sister and me, but boy, was I wrong. We weren’t informed about having to wear swimming suits/bathing suits when going into the pool(since we’re not from this community). They should highlight that on the website. Unless I happened to skip pass it, in that case, that’s my fault. But at least they made an exception for us. Anyways, my baby brother was talking to some of the kids that seem to be in a program for swimming there and next thing I know, I hear the woman in charge telling the kids to not talk to anyone who isn’t from the community. Really? Way to feel welcomed. Not the best way to spend time with family. I would highly recommend the Yucaipa Regional Park. Literally 5 minutes, or so, away from this place.

THISREVIEWISFORTHEPOOLONLY. I did not know that the city had a public pool till last year and every summer I sweat buckets or drive to the U of R 15 minutes away. While the U of R does have an Olympic sized pool which is free to alum, *SCORE*, it is only open a few hours each day during the summer. So I was super stoked when I found out we have a pool just a few blocks down. Since it is hotter that Hades here June — August, when the pool is open, it will be busy so be prepared to get splashed and try to avoid the clumps of teenagers looking to make a summer love connection. Price was pretty reasonable: 0 – 17 yrs old $ 2.25 /$ 3.25, 18 – 54 yrs old $ 2.75 /$ 3.75, 55 and older $ 2.25 /$ 3.25 or if you are going to prune it up $ 20 /$ 30 for a 10 day swim pass(all prices are listed in order of resident /non resident). Hours are Mon — Thrus: noon to 3 pm, Fri: noon — 4pm and Sat + Sun 1 pm– 6 pm. Extra bonus for the pool being recently remodeled. It now offers a splash pad for the little ones(I could sat there all day with a beer if they’d have let me), locker rooms with showers and a picnic area with shade. The picnic area can get packed so get there early or leave your stuff against the fence; Nobody will mess with it. Not a bad way to cool down and spend some time with your family without breaking the bank.
