I try to support local businesses whenever I can so I have given this place several tries. I think the main reason is I just didn’t want to go to N. May or order online when I need prints. The first time I used them to print out a 12×20 print. Somehow it came out 9×17. I had someone pick it up for me because I couldn’t make it before closing. Not only was the size off but there were colors missing from the horizon and there were white blotches in numerous places. I went back later that week and some girl tried to explain it away. Finally they fixed the color. the ink was out. Seriously? You’re a printer and you don’t know when the ink is out? But she still patronized me when she explained how to use Photoshop and what pixels and zoom were, etc. etc. Really? I’ve been doing this since you were in grade school. She wanted to charge me to enlarge it so it could be printed out at 12×20. Nope, not gonna happen. It was ready to be printed with the settings it had. She finally opened it in PS and wow, what do you know, it was ready to be printed the correct size. A couple weeks later, the same scenario. It was like deja vu. Ok, fine I’ll remind her. Did that, got it printed and I was on my way. with a photo that had tiny blurry spots on it. It’s ok, it was just for a demo anyway. I’ve had problems every single time I need prints, whether it’s a large print or just a 5×7. And they always want to «educate» me on how to do it properly. No other place has a problem printing what I want. I also had some original painting scanned onto a flash drive so I could eventually make prints of those as well. But they were all washed out, too bright or the colors were way off. I eventually got everything fixed and corrected, but it was a hassle. I guess I will just have to struggle with all the time restrictions to make it to the north side to get what I need.

I used their Groupon for transferring VHS tapes to DVDs. I brought in the VHS tapes on a Monday and was told that the tapes would be ready within 1.5 to 2 weeks. Two weeks went by, and no one from the shop had called me, so I called them on Monday. I was told that the transfer process was taking longer than expected because there were«tracking problems» on the VHS tapes that made them difficult to transfer. I was also told that the tapes would be ready by Wednesday. I received a phone call on Wednesday to tell me that the DVDs were ready. I wasn’t able to go to the shop on Wednesday, so I went on Thursday morning less than half an hour after they opened. My order was not completely ready. An employee explained to me that the power went out before the last VHS tape had been transferred to DVD. I am disappointed that no one at the shop called me to inform me of the delays in service. I would have appreciated a phone call when it was discovered that there were tracking problems that delayed the initial estimate of turnaround time. I would have also appreciated a phone call when it was discovered that there was a power outage at the store. The employees did not think of the customer first.

I brought a lens in for service, paid $ 50 in advance, and based on what the owner, Hank Baker, told me, their repair person would look at it early the following week and they would advise me on what needed to be done. After two weeks, I had to call and speak to Mr. Baker again to get a status update, which came a few days later in the form of the lens being finished to the tune of additional $ 150 in repairs that I was not advised of nor approved at any point. When I came into the store to talk to Mr. Baker, he claimed to have advised me of these terms of service when I dropped the lens off(which he had not), and closed by telling me that I could have my lens back for the $ 50 I had already paid on the condition that I «never come back to the store again.» I told him I didn’t intend to, and I don’t recommend that you do either. I’d prefer to support a local business, but you’d get faster turnaround times and more reasonable service terms sending your equipment out to be repaired.

Discovered BAKERPHOTO&VIDEO mentioned as an alternative in a bad review for another shop in OKC. Who knew downtown Yukon is so cool! Great small shop. VERY helpful. My wife printed some digital pics, and I bought a great, affordable tripod. These guys really care. Highly Recommended! FYI: Grady’s, across the street books cool bands…

Yay! Local photo folks that don’t want to rip you off! I am so thrilled. I was recently on the hunt for a reflector. I’m not sure how I can’t keep my hands on this item when I buy them, but I always seem to lose it. So I went into another store in OKC and they wanted to charge me $ 100 for an item that should cost NOMORE than $ 50. I heard about Baker Photo and instead of driving out there, I called first. I was nervous to lose my precious gas to find another company trying to rape my budget. I am so happy that this was not the case. Patricia answered the phone and told me basically every possible reflector option she had in stock with prices, which were all completely reasonable. She then gave me fantastic directions! I am so happy to have found a local photo go to shop!

Seriously the best customer service in town! Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with incredible hospitality… I feel I hardly deserve it! I would 100% recommend Baker Photo & Video over the alternative options. They have definitely earned my future business.

On tour with a band a few years ago my Nikon broke down, and the only camera store on our route was Baker Photo. They sold me a Nikon F5 for $ 800 and it was broken from the start, only lasted maybe twenty rolls before giving out completely. I took a risk, not having the time to run a test roll as we had to get back on the highway. Either these guys took advantage of me, telling me they knew the guy who sold it to them and that the camera had been checked out, or they are incompetent enough to miss major malfunctions.
