It’s not horrible but it’s been better. I’ve use to go here all the time when I was younger and came back to town and saw the change. Menu is huge and service is slow. Usually gets orders wrong.

Every Yuman needs to eat here once, just so they know what everyone is talking about. Sort of a Yuma institution. I don’t find them to be all that great, sort of in between real mexican food and mexican-american fast food. The portions are very small, and they don’t put any condiments on your food such as guacamole or sour cream(or anything else for that matter). They will sell you little cups of it on the side, but to me this is a pain and kind of weird. Their bean burritos are pretty decent.

This place was pretty good. We came here a day after starting our vacation. I had a bean, cheese and rice burrito. The sauce it comes with it is pretty tasty — not too spicy and not too mild! My boyfriend and his sister had different burritos and they thought they were good too. We were told we would have a 30 min wait but it ended up only being 15. I would go here if you haven’t already. We came because it was voted one of the best burrito places or something.

Chile Pepper and Mr. G’s, a main staple for survival in the Yuma summers! For those of you new to Yuma, the South West, take the time to find out about the history of this wonderful pioneer family and the contribution they have made to Yuma for MANY years. Yes, they have the absolute best burrito’s, taco’s, you name it! All I can say to Phillip M., you and your girlfriend need to take a deep breath… chill my friend, what is the rush? Perhaps if you slowed down and spoke clearly the lady could understand you! Next time drive thru a fast food and deal with the squawk box there! It is your loss that you two had SO much to do that you could not extend a bit of courtesy to a hard working lady. Shame on you. Daren, I was in the class of ‘57’, we were all raised on the best in Yuma.

So… I was reading an article on about the best burritos in the USA. Lo and behold, there was one from Yuma at a place called Chile Pepper. They claim that their bean and cheese burrito was one of the best in the land. I’m usually not the biggest bean and cheese burrito fan, but if I get a good one, I can definitely appreciate it. I knew I had to try it. We were headed out to San Diego this morning and decided to stop here for lunch. Its a few miles off the freeway and pretty easy to get to. I walked in, placed my order for a bean and cheese burrito, 6 rolled tacos and a medium fountain drink. My total was just over $ 8.50. I paid the lady my money, filled my drink with Wild Cherry Pepsi and waited for my number to be called. Here is how everything was… Bean and Cheese Burrito– First of all, these things are only $ 1.89. Can’t really beat the price! Like I said earlier, I’m not the biggest bean and cheese fan, but I definitely wanted to try their version since it made a «best of» burrito list. I unwrapped this thing and noticed that it was pretty small. It was more of a folded tortilla rather than a stuffed, wrapped burrito. I saw other peoples orders and they all had multiple burritos on the tray. I can see why! You really need at least two of these to fill you up. I took a bite and got to the warm, semi runny beans. The flavor was great! The cheese was nicely melted inside and the beans were smooth and tasty. It was a little messy though, and near the end, some of the burritos guts came running out onto my tray. Was it good? Yeah! Was it one of the best burritos I have ever had? Not even close. If you are a true bean and cheese burrito aficionado, you may appreciate this thing more than I did. Remember, be sure to order at least 2! Rolled Tacos– Wow! Ill start out by saying that these were the best rolled tacos I have ever had! These were definitely homemade… hand rolled and secured with a toothpick. The corn tortillas were perfectly fried, they were filled with shredded beef from tip to tip, and the overall taste was perfect. Every single bite was clean and entailed crispy/crunchy tortilla and hot, perfectly shredded beef. A lot of rolled tacos either have the meat stuffed in the middle, and leave you crunchy end pieces with no meat, and soggy middles where the meat is. Or, when you bite into some rolled tacos, the meat all comes out during one bite, leaving you with a hollowed out tortilla with nothing in it. Not these! These things were perfect! They provide a nice thin salsa to go with them and it was a perfect compliment to these rolled tubes of perfection. I gave one to my wife and regret doing so. I could have easily mowed down a dozen($.69 cents each). Service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Next time here, I think I am going to go with 2 bean and cheese burritos and 6 – 8 rolled tacos. It was a damn fine meal and a place I will stop at again on my trips between SD and PHX.

I want to thank the management of Chili Peppers for letting me host a luncheon on 10÷16÷15 for Kofa High Class of 85! The food was still delicious after all these years. I had some shipped back to me here in Florida. I loved the food, and love all of you. Y’all really need to think about doing a shipping service. I know many people, like myself, that would keep you busy. Thanks again!

Chile Pepper is my favorite burrito place. I don’t have much to say except try their machaca, meat, green or red chili burrito mixed with beans and cheese. I can’t decide which one I like more; they are all delicious to me!

It was tasty, and most of the menu was relatively inexpensive, but personally I wasn’t a huge fan. Apparently everything is made in house, such as the tortillas, but there just wasn’t enough to wow me. They close hella early and I thought the portion sizes were really small. I’ve been told the rolled tacos are unbeatable but haven’t been back since. I’d go back, but definitely will not be a frequent flier.

Overpriced burritos but they are good. Would come back though. Service is okay, not too bad but not great either.

Nothing special when it comes to there plates or wanting to go have a nice«sit down dinner». If you are like me though and you can love a place simply based on they have one item that no other place compares The Chile Peppers bean and cheese burritos are a must have. Their salsa is like tomato juice with some spices so again nothing special. Especially coming from a place that is so known for tacos and Mexican food in general. The Bean and Cheese burritos though. They make for 3 of the 4 stars!

They do a great job for their menu staples. Rolled tacos are hot and meaty. Bean and cheese burrito is creamy in a great tortilla. Green chili con carne is not chili verde. It’s a meaty burrito with chunks of green chili and onion. My only complaint is its a smidge small but the prices are good so that counteracts it. The place hums with activity but still remains clean and functional.

I give this rating because I feel like I shouldn’t have to wait 30 mins for carne asada. It’s dinner time and they should’ve been better prepared. And it was cold!

If you’re rolling through Yuma(as we were on the way to San Diego) this place is a great stop for some good grub. I had read about it as being one of places to get one of the top 25 burritos in the country, so I had to give it a shot. Its a little bit of a ways from the freeway but it is most definitely worth the drive. The tortillas are so fresh and smell so good. They have the best bean and cheese burritos, using very stringy cheese. My girlfriend ordered a quesadilla and she couldn’t get enough of it, raving about how it really hit the spot. This place left such an impression on us, we hit it again on the way back and it was just as good the second time around!

Salsa is like red water, with no flavor. Red Chile meat was like hamburger and watery like soup. Didn’t bother to even finish… what a disaster. Must cater to winter visitors from Canada.

so I grew up eating chili pepper and mr g’s and lets just say when I moved to Texas my heart was still at those places lol I usually get the bean, rice and cheese burritos with 4 taquitos and a side of fries. they have this homemade salsa that tastes like someone’s abuela has been cooking it for hours in the back. the good thing about this place is that they are SUPER inexpensive and they always are quick to get your food to you. not going to lie, I did have my dad ship some chili pepper to my family in Texas. it wasn’t fresh like if I was there but damn it was still great lol you wouldn’t be disappointed I can tell you that!!!

No joke, this really happened… Me: Hi, can I have a… Cashier: No, you can’t order here Me: What? Cashier: This is call in orders only, you can’t eat here either Me: Wait, what? So why do you have a menu here and why are there tables and chairs here? Can I just call on my cell phone and order something and then pick it up here? Cashier: If you want to dine in, that’s next door Me: Oh… ok Cashier: You can get there by passing through the restrooms *points at restroom doors Me: That’s ok, I’ll walk outside and go around the restrooms, thanks though. *Next door Me: Hi, can I order the soup? Cashier: No, that’s only on Wed and Fridays Me: Ok… can I have that combination plate? *points at the menu Cashier: No, that’s only before 2pm Me: Ok… can I have a vegetarian rolled taco? Cashier: No, we don’t do that Me: Ok… can you tell me what we CAN order? Cashier: A tostada or a burrito only. WOW. Really!!! Can you have any MORE restrictions? Oh my goodness! It was really exhausting trying to find something to order! Then when the food came, they FORGOT our burrito! We also ordered chips which came with«salsa». I say«salsa» because it wasn’t really salsa. It was watered down tomato juice with spices in it. Everything we ate was SUPER salty, I had to drink so much water to neutralize the saltiness. I’m really disappointed with the food AND the restrictions at this place. Aren’t you suppose to try to please the customer? I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’ll ever come back here.
