First ate at Las Palapas diez años pasado(that’s 10 years back, gringos) at the old location w/outdoor grill on 16th. At that time, Rubios™ was on a serious decline having veered far from fresh quality street taco roots. «Las P» looked to fill that void. The tacos were good, the salsas were tasty(firey hot option avail) cervezas cold and the place a poppin’– for Yuma anyway;-) I was impressed! Fast forward ten years later– I stopped by on a road trip, discovered that the old outside grill spot was shuttered(bummer) but found this location here on Unilocalosphere! I thought I was stoked. …needless to say, not so much. Service was friendly but slow. Shrimp tacos were kinda funky & old not crispy/fresh. Fish taco was very fishy smelling and inedible. Salsas were average, chips bueno, beans&rice side was meh… not the kick ass place I remembered it to be with much higher bottomline$ currently. You’d think Mexican street tacos attitude in a Americanized foodstop would be ez game plan – maybe not in Yuma. So back to Rubios™ where they have gone«nextlevel» w drastically improved menu.

The customer service was horrible. Las Palapas charges«check out fees» in order to use a debit card. This is against the law. To file a complaint call 1−800-VISA-911 for visa debit cards and go to . The lady checking me out refused to let me run my order as debit and on top of that refused to get the manager. Other than the customer service being horrible, the tacos were good.

This place is great. Delicious food and nice people. Sometimes the service is slow, but that’s because they are cooking it fresh. I have never had bad food here.

I have eaten at this place twice. First time a year ago the food was good. Today I had the carne asada tacos which were not close to the quality of my first visit and kinda disappointing.

Horrible food and service. The guacamole was purred. Customer service is terrible. How can you work at a place and not know whats in your food you serve. Never going back there again. First and last time.

Great quesadillas, good prices and cool atmosphere. Looking for a place to catch a quick bite of Mexican food? Las Palapas is your spot for a good meal on the run or kick back the spot with a cold one!

I came back and the shrimp tacos were bigger and fresh and delicious. They still have the taco for a dollar thing that I reported on in my earlier review. It was lunch on a Friday so maybe they make more batches of shrimp tacos so they are fresher?

Much better than Chile pepper and faster service. Food is excellent and friendly staff. I’ve found a new hangout.

I’ve always liked Las Palapas until the last couple times I’ve gone. You order at a counter and it took 20 minutes for a cashier to greet us. After that she was very rude to me and my friend making overweight jokes thinking they were funny. On top of that the meat was overcooked. Not impressed. I suggest going to Monster Taco on Pacific Ave great service, great atmosphere, and free guacamole!

I went last night and found 2 long pieces of black hair in my bean and cheese burrtio… I almost threw up it was so disgusting. I would recommend the Las Palapas in the foothills before I would ever recommend this one. There’s hair nets for a reason, use them!

If I could give no stars, I would. The service was terrible, and I was not the only customer who believed so. A gentleman with the number preceding mine canceled his order. I didn’t cancel, being told they had good tacos. 30+ minutes of waiting later, my slight irritation was pushed to frustration when I finally received my food. I had ordered the three taco combo, asking for no cabbage. I had expected guacamole and cheese still, as the signs state. Nope, just meat and a tortilla. I didn’t feel like even complaining at this point, as there would be no purpose. I’d complained about the fact they charge 50¢ per card transaction is illegal under Dodd-Frank. It’s not the amount that’s the problem here, it’s the principal of it. I’d complained about my wait, to be placated with a free beer for myself and my companion. This was also a point of irritation; I’d asked for Pacifico, only to be told the manager would give us some awful Mexicali beer. I refused until I got what I had asked for, after the third request. I will not go back for awful service, and my biggest regret is wasting an hour of my life at this mediocre restaurant and not asking to just cancel my order.

Stopped in with my friend to grab a quick bite after a long day. Cheap, tasty. Try it.

Service from the employees is good. Food? Nope. I came here since everyone n their moms day these are best fish tacos here in Yuma. Came to eat a big disappointed. My shrimp taco looked sooo sad with no color or anything in it with a colorless tortilla Fish tacos were the same! The tortilla chips we’re stale and managed to peep the backroom n read s sign saying«cover chips overnight» or something like that. So they were obviously old. On top of that I played 55 cents for watered down guac! Smh never again. If u guys think this is the best taco place in Yuma then I shall never try another fish taco spot here again.

The quesadilla was good the fish taco was very fishy tasting and I ended up pulling it out filling the tortilla with cabbage and eating that.

One of my favorite reasons to visit Yuma. Steak quesadillas and the Baja shrimp tacos are a must. They have two locations, both are great.

Quesadillas are bang-a-rang but the fish tacos are just okay(beer battered Alaskan Pollock). It’s pretty cheap and a good place to watch the World Cup.

Fish Tacos. Yum. The best I’ve had so far in Yuma. Put this place down or give them a 5. I’ll eat here no matter.

At one point in time this was a quality establishment with some decent food. Somewhere along the way over the past year or so it has really gone down hill. The food is way over priced for the small«street» tacos that are available. I mean any road side taco stand in Yuma has better food than this place. $ 1.95 for Carne asada taco… really? Salsa bar was out of most everything on this day and no one seemed to be in a hurry to fill it. I must say that the staff was friendly, but it does not make up for the sub-standard food being served.

I don’t know why we keep coming here. They NEVER get our order right. It’s 6:30 on a Friday and they are out of iced tea and refuse to make more. Very disappointing.
