Good family fun to stay cool. Downside they don’t allow life jackets for young kids who don’t swim but I guess that keeps parents from sitting on their ass.

Fun place to be! Lots of fun for young children:) not a lot of shaded areas and not very many recliners:(still lots of fun for cheap! They have a snack bar so make sure you bring some money for a yummy snow cone.

What a great place! Perfect for our little ones and so much more affordable than going to the waterpark in town. Clean, well supervised, shade, just a really nice family place here in Yuma.

First, I am surprised I am the first person to review this place… This place opened up in the summer of 2009. Second, I can’t say too much as it took me 2 years to check this place out. :) The Valley Aquatic Center is comprised of a water play area, splash pad and swimming pool. The water play area is massive and is one giant pool broken into 3 areas. –Area one is an artificial beach. The water goes from 0 inches down to around 2ft gradually like a beach. This area is nice for little ones as they don’t have to go too deep and there are some water jets that shoot up to entertain them. –Area two is slide into the deepest part of this pool. This is where the older kids go and have fun. –Area three is a playground in about 2ft of water. This adds lots of fun for most of the kids. There are water cannons that shoot water as well as a small slide. This is the busiest part of the park. The splash pad is an area with no standing water but has water rain down on you via a series of pipes. The flow and duration appear to be controlled via wheels near the center of the pad. This is fun for everybody and much needed during the hottest part of the summer. Finally the pool. According to the website this pool is 25 yards by 110 ft making it the most lanes for any public pool in Yuma, but not the longest as Kennedy pool is 50 yards long. Either way the web site boast this is a competition pool and looking at it in person I would say it is massive. When we were there they were having a swim meet and were barely using up ½ the pool. Prices can be found on their web site and there is a discount if you are in city limits. We paid 9 dollars for the 3 of us and I felt the price was appropriated after all this is a near 9 million dollar facility. So come check it out. Plenty of stuff for the family and you will actually want to be outdoors come this summer. :) Overall I think this is a great addition to Yuma.
