A & W

Zanesville is a nice ride from Columbus and we always stop at A&W for a hot dog and rootbeer float. The food is ok and quick the rootbeer float is great

This place is what it is. My service was decent but I noticed they were slow with a few other orders. I ordered a chili dog and it was pretty good for what i expected. It is another option off the exit that is a change from the usual fast food fare. The place was pretty busy so local people must actually like it. It is paired with a gas station and Blimpie so it gives groups of travelers options when you stop. Plus the kids can go over to Mcdonalds and play.

I liked the food and the service isn’t bad unless they are really busy. Then it can be a little slow. But they aren’t as slow as others we’ve been to

This is not the A&W for you if you are expecting good food and great service.
First of all, the inside of the restaurant was not clean at all. Chairs were scattered all over the floor and trash was everywhere. Secondly, I had ordered two footlong hotdogs with cheese and mustard with onions on the side for one of the hotdogs as well as cheese curds. The cashier told me there would be a 10 minute wait for the hotdogs to cook. Not a problem. While waiting, I noticed another gentlemen came in twice, stating they had messed up one of his sandwiches more than once. That’s never a good sign.
After I waited and finally received my food, they put onions on BOTH hotdogs after I only wanted them on the side for one of them only. They were also still cold and not cooked all the way through. Cheese curds were just average. Overall, I will not be back to this A&W as they could care less about their customers.

I’m wondering why I have never eaten at an A&W before. Maybe it’s the marketing, or lack of marketing.
This was a pit stop while on a road trip. This restaurant is attached to a gas station. Come to think of it, aren’t all A&Ws attached to other businesses?
Anyway, I was surprised to find reasonably priced combo meals and root beer floats. My burger was good! Fries were also tasty with just enough salt. The kids meal was reasonably priced with a twist — mini corn dogs. My husband’s fish sandwich was lame, a typical minced fish patty.
Overall this was a good fast food experience — fast, friendly, inexpensive and clean.
A&W will now be on my radar when I get a craving for a root beer float and a burger.
