Plaza Del Mariachi

My husband and I enjoy eating at this restaurant very much. We consider it the best around. The food is so outstanding and the service is fast and friendly. You must go and see for yourself.

I am visiting family in Raleigh and we journeyed out to Zebulon to dine out with extended family. There was no menu for me to preview online, so I didn’t go with high hopes of being able to eat more than chips & salsa. After driving 45 min to what seemed like the middle of nowhere to this out-​of-​towner, we arrived at this vibrant and packed Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. The mariachi music was festive and enjoyable, but also very loud, making conversation difficult. On the plus side, it drowned out the screaming toddler at our table. The chips and salsa were fresh, plentiful, and tasty. I was disappointed though that the guacamole contained milk. I ended up ordering vegetable fajitas (not on the menu), which came with rice and beans, which I was promised were vegetarian. I ordered everything without cheese or sour cream. The fresh homemade corn tortillas were amazing. My vegetable fajitas were some of the best I’ve had. They never did bring me the side of sliced avocado I ordered, but we had a party of about 12 – 15 people, and the restaurant was super busy so that is a forgivable oversight. Everybody that ordered it raved about their horchata. I really enjoyed my food and would go back again if family wanted to go. All of my Mexican extended family commented on how authentic the food was too!

Consistently good, large portions ands good value. Live music on Friday Nights. Get the Shrimp Burrito, its as big as your head.
