From what I understand, this place has been around for a while. Located in the heart of the«Mayberry» part of Zionsville you can choose to sit in the slightly outdated indoors, or the very pretty outdoor area. The menu has some good options and there are definitely dishes that feel like the chef put some passion into designing them. Execution on the dishes seemed hit and miss. I got the short rib which was plenty good(although pricey) but a few things like the Pasta Mediterranean were so salty I asked my friend if they added salt because it was hard to believe it came out that way. She did not finish the dish in the end. The sad part, is that it had great flavor other than the overpowering saltiness. My wife got the Spring Escarole Salad which she said tasted grainy like sand. It was so bad she sent it back and when the waitress returned, she said the chef tasted it and said«I guess someone got lazy with washing the leaves». Sigh. Again, execution failing on otherwise well conceptualized dish. Unfortunately, that gritty sand texture does not leave you with a good taste in your mouth(both literally and figuratively) I would give this place another shot in the future to see if I simply had a mediocre experience.

Visited some family in Carmel and was given a tip to pass by Zionville on the way back home. So glad I checked out this cute little town. I used opentable to make a quick lunch reso(those points pay off) and got seated right when we walked in. The weather was great so we chilled in their adorable patio. We overheard the waiter saying they do live music at night. Cute. I had the salmon wrap and hubby the burger. The salmon was phenom! Extremely fresh and the perfect amount of sauce to go along with it. Hubby loved his burger. I had broccoli slaw on the side that was solid. Hubby’s fries were good too. Service was great and the vibe was calm. Even though prices may be a little high for this part of town, the quality and experience of the patio is worth it. I would definitely recommend and visit again

Cobblestone is always a great night out: excellent food, good variety and good prices, great drink menu/many beers on tap, pleasant atmosphere that can be both romantic and fun with live music. Highly recommended… have never had a bad meal or experience here.

Cobblestone has an almost farmhouse feel to it… the dining area is sectioned off into little nooks and crannies that makes it feel like you’re going someplace special. On this visit, our service was friendly, and the food was fantastic — I chose the grouper special, but I have some dietary restrictions. The chef accommodated them with no problems whatsoever. We got to meet him after the meal, and he’s very down to earth and honest — I like that.

Great spot! I had the special which was a dry aged NY Strip and it was fantastic. My wife really enjoyed the beef short ribs and they had Zombie Dust on tap. How can you beat that? I can’t wait to go back for the burger. Our server Michael was great and extremely helpful.

Located in downtown Zionsville, I’d call this place«classic upscale». The décor is nice, without being pretentious. Our server was prompt and friendly, yet, I felt, just a tad aloof. I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich, and it was quite good, but I have to say, it wasn’t as good as I expected in a place like this. My wife had the fish special of the night(grouper, if I recall correctly) and REALLY liked it. I arrived expecting a 5 star experience, and perhaps I set my sights too high. As it was, I’ll give it a 4 and we’ll certainly return.

Six of us had dinner on a Saturday night. The place is located in downtown Zionsville and there is street parking and few city lots. We arrived a little late for our 7PM reservation and were seated inside, the place also has a nice outdoor area. Our waiter arrived prompt with water and took our drink order and a few folks ordered some starters to share while we perused the menu. The sound level was a nice a good level of noise that allowed for conversation. Our drinks arrived(they have a full bar) and or server shared the dinner special(pan seared Walleye). A few minutes later he returned to take our orders and I opted for the flat iron steak which came with two sides. Our starters of truffle fries, duck tacos and spinach dip arrived. The truffle fries and duck tacos were very good and the spinach dip was OK. Our entire meal was paced very well and there was a nice amount of time to enjoy our drinks, starters and conversation before the mains arrived. My steak was prepared as ordered and had a nice flavor, others at the table had the Walleye special and a seafood pasta. Folks appeared to enjoy. As mains were completed our server shared dessert options and we selected an assortment. The sugar cream pie and mix berry pie were very good. Overall I very much enjoyed the food and service.

Our server seem disinterested the entire night. We asked for recommendations and he told us to go with our«gut.» We felt as if he was on roller skates, literally dropping in and promptly leaving(mind you the restaurant was not that busy). Our food looked delicious however lack sufficient flavor. I would give it another try but my expectations would be are rather low.

I hosted a corporate dinner here and was very pleased with the experience start to finish. They set up my group in a private area of the restaurant that was intimate yet spacious. The restaurant owners put together a smaller menu for us and were very accommodating to our needs. The beer and wine selection they had was top notch as well. If I’m holding another dinner in Zionsville, I will definitely choose Cobblestone again.

I’ve been to this place several times for lunch during the week with co-workers but last nights visit was with 10 out of town employees. Our server was great, and service was great. The beer, wine and cocktail selection were great and bartender was quick with our drinks. Décor is rather tired, but the clientele isn’t necessarily young and hip. The appetizers were great(albeit pretty expensive, $ 9, for a very small portion of truffle fries), the shrimp is always delicious, and the charcuterie was all good but still rather expensive for the amount of cheese/meat received. Wedge salad was great with the house bacon and bleu cheese. Unfortunately, most were rather disappointed with our entrees. The descriptions of the dishes on the menu left a lot to be desired when we received them. The bone-in pork chip with a fig & truffle sauce sounded delicious and while the chop was cooked well, it was just lacking flavor. All the folks who had salmon were unimpressed and also noted a general lack of flavor. I’d come back just for the shrimp and wedge salad, but the entrees were lacking finesse. Fat & salt make flavor :).

Quiet & comfortable little restaurant in downtown Zionsville. The place is very cute, decorated in a homely fashion. They have local art for sale hanging on the walls, which is pretty cool. Although the décor is underwhelming, the food was outstanding! DUCKTACOS! DUCKTACOS! DUCKTACOS! Must I say it again? Topped with guacamole, goat cheese, and the most delightful, sweet-tart blackberry corn salsa. To die for. The only problem here is that the meal only comes with two tacos… And you’ll want so many more. Two friends tried the veggie quiche. Here are some direct quotes from their experience: «It’s too good, I have to slow down so I can savor this or I’ll eat it all at once.» «The crust… This crust is just, so. so perfect.» So if that’s not enough to make you try the quiche, idk what is. I didn’t get the chance to try any of their wine or beer. I shall venture into the realm of their alcohol selection on my next visit.(i.e. There will DEFINITELY be a next visit. Maybe for Sunday brunch with mimosas? Eh??)

Quaint… cozy…welcoming, but most importantly… delicious. When visiting the town of Zionsville, these are all things you will expect to find at Cobblestone Grille. I took my aunt here, who was visiting Indy from the Twin Cities and wanted to enjoy some«good libations and a bite to eat that isn’t the typical greasy pub food you’d find in Indiana.» We decided on Cobblestone because their website boasted a great selection of wines and beers on draft, plus a delectable menu that was reasonably priced and not full of traditional American fare. I had called only an hour ahead to see if they had a table available, knowing how Friday nights can be busy for restaurants. To my surprise and delight, the hostess said she did have a table open still(despite the restaurant being packed for the live entertainment) and would reserve it for me within the hour. The front of the restaurant has more of a pub/bar feel to it. They had a guitar player setup and playing for the crowd. We were seated promptly and in the back area, which was much quieter and cozier than in the main bar area. Our server was extremely pleasant to chat with and could sense we weren’t in any hurry to eat and be on our way. She was kind to take her time with us and gave us some very good suggestions on the menu and the wine list. We imbibed on a lovely bottle of red wine from Oregon that she suggested since our first pick from the wine list was not available. For the meal, my aunt and I shared their delicious salmon appetizer to start. This was almost like a salmon pâté, complete with radicchio, tomatoes, And hard-boiled eggs on top of it. It was so good! Next we ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the beet side salad. I am not a huge fan of anything that is breaded and fried, but I have to say that the sandwich was well worth it. The homemade tomato relish and crispy bacon alone were good, but the chicken was so nicely fried and not too greasy. As for the beet salad, I would have liked to have seen more frisée and more goat cheese on the plate. It was mostly the beets and pinenuts – still decent though. Our server stuck around and chatted with us. She didn’t try to push us out the door as they were closing up. I always appreciate it when the serving staff takes the time to get to know their customers, after serving them their dinner. I hope to visit Cobblestone again with my husband. I think there was a burger on their menu that he would really enjoy!

A disappointing dinner experience on our anniversary. I really wanted to like this place — and I’ve been there before and it was a lot better. Still, last night was very disappointing. I’d like to think the kitchen just had a bad night, but a lot went wrong. I doubt we’ll return. Décor We were seated outside on a charming patio area. The location was nice and sunny, the table was in a quiet spot and next to gardens with flowers blooming. Very nice location. Service It took too long after being seated for someone to bring us water in the warm sun. Once our server did arrive, she was prompt and pleasant with drink orders. Later the weather turned rainy and we had to be reseated inside. That was handled very well by the servers. Our server, for the most part, was attentive and professional. Drinks — Good craft beer list. I tried 2 dark beers on tap and liked them both. — My wife had a couple of pretty good gin and tonics. Appetizers: — Grilled watermelon salad, $ 9: This was a disappointment. It sounded terrific on the menu, but the grilled watermelon was bland and included a lot of white, bland rind part of the melon. It would have been a lot better with the sweeter, red part. It was served with flavorless quinoa, a vinaigrette and a tiny amount of goat cheese. We were not at all impressed. — Truffle Fries: $ 9. Tasty, crispy, hot and served with a small drizzle of truffle oil and some shaved cheese. This was a nice treat but a small portion — not enough for two to share, much less justify the steep price of $ 9. Way overpriced. Dinner: The dinner dishes were OK but not the level you’d expect from a place like this. For a restaurant selling $ 9 french fries, we were expecting a more interesting, flavorful, or at least memorable main course. No luck. — Pici A La Caruso: $ 14 dish + $ 5 for chicken addition. This dish had fresh made pasta with a nice mix of veggies. Pasta was good, veggies were fresh and tasty, but it wasn’t anything you’d be really impressed with. Just middle of the road good. — Pasta Mediterranean: $ 12 dish + $ 5 for chicken addition. Fresh made pasta in penne form, featuring veggies, garlic, etc. Good, but nothing too exciting. Dessert Since it was an anniversary meal, we decided to indulge with some dessert options. We shouldn’t have. — Triple Chocolate Blondie Brownie: Our brownie was amply sized for sharing, but dry inside and not very tasty. For a «triple chocolate» menu item, there was very little chocolate flavor in the actual dish. It was served with a scoop of ordinary vanilla ice cream that could have come from a grocery store carton. A restaurant like this should have this simple dessert perfected, but this was really a miss. — Carrot cake: Dreadfully undercooked. Nice cream cheese frosting. But the cake was under cooked in several places. Some of the cake was OK, but some was not baked enough. We complained and were told by our server it’s «normally very moist.» Ours wasn’t just very moist. We tasted cake batter in several bites. Not in all bites — the cooking was incomplete, so parts were baked more than others. We complained again and the server told us they«checked it in the kitchen and it was OK.» We know the taste of batter versus cake — but they were certain all was well. The server took this off our check, thank goodness, but it was frustrating that we were told we were incorrect about the dish being undercooked. Not the level of service expected from a place like this — they should have acknowledged our concern, removed the dish immediately, and replaced it with something better.

First time here. Other plans fell through so ended up in Zionsville. We got excellent service. Breakfast potatoes were not good. If they were to leave out the leeks they would have been good. The waffle sandwich was very good. Nice décor and friendly host. I will be going back and taking my husband. Priced a little higher then i would normally pay for brunch. Good first impression.

Great cozy space. We had the charcuterie and cheese plate which was perfect. Duck breast prosciutto and a spicy, soft salami with three local cheeses. The plate also had a ramekin with thick, stone ground mustard that I was eating straight off the knife. My friend and I shared the quinoa salad, short rib & risotto and the pork chop. The short rib was fork-tender but the risotto was under done a tad. The bone in pork chop was cooked perfectly with crispy yet tender asparagus I would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

This is a cute, rustic, place… they have the old Western swing doors leading to the bathrooms. Live music was good. Seemed like clientele is more in the 45+ age range. The service was a bit slow in the bar seating because bartender also served the tables. The duck tacos were good but the tortillas got a bit soggy at the bottom and fell apart. So if you order them. Get extra napkins.

Ambiance: Came here for a family surprise dinner for our grandma. The place is a mix of french bistro with pastel walls and iron with old time west feel with belt-driven ceiling fans. Overall the place was welcoming, clean, and staff were very accommodating at orchestrating the surprise. Waters were refilled regularly. Food: I had the pistachio-crusted salmon which was served over sweet onions and raisins. The fish was tender and the tiniest hint overcooked but overall good. I wasn’t a fan of the dish itself with the savory fish contrasting too strongly with the overly sweet veges underneath, just wasn’t very cohesive. The mashed potatoes were probably the most balanced and delicious part of the meal. My wife had the seared tuna which was served over a cabbage medley. The tuna was OK in quality, being mild but slightly mushy. The veges were also covered in a large amount of a orange oil which was flavorless and unnecessary. Overall the food was technically cooked well but I wasn’t a fan of the ingredient quality and dish compositions, especially considering the fine-dining prices they demand. There are better expensive restaurants out there guys.

Much bigger than the inconspicuous store front may suggest. The atmosphere is not too overwhelmingly Zionsville-antique’y, just a dash. Traditional Brunch choices executed quite well. Sweet corn casserole on the side of an otherwise yummy, but uneventful eggs Benedict was that«surprise me» touch that I look and Unilocal for! A small touch, but being able to get hot tea with real honey always makes my day. We were hurrying to see a show and the server was fast, attentive and unobtrusive. I stepped out and returned to hot water for tea already refilled. Pancakes, a couple of choices for Benedict, including crab cakes, soup, omelette all on the brunch menu. Will be back to sample.
