When stepping into this bookstore it feels as if one has traveled back in time. This is both in good and bad the old type of bookstore. The good parts are that it does have a bit of the old-fashioned charm and it feels as if the books are the key thing here. Staff are also knowledgeable, friendly and most are trilingual(Finnish, Swedish and English). They stock a nice array of books in English, Swedish and Finnish as well as many magazines. The store does jot have a super easy layout and structure so I sometimes struggle to find things but staff will guide you right. The old style also comes back in that it feels as if they are not very good at displaying interesting books so it is more that you one should know what one wants when coming here. Adding some modernity there is a café upstairs as well as a Starbucks at the entrance and the store also offers free wifi.

What a lovely classic bookshop! Great selection of both Finnish, Swedish and English books plus magazines. Extra plus for staff that speaks Swedish too. On the second floor you’ll find the charming and unpretentious Aalto Café that offers both light lunches, desserts and fika. A very enjoyable place to spend a few hours. Yes, free wi-fi too.
