Memphis

If you want an American stile food, this is a good option. Good quality, great tastes. The steak is not the best kind but it tastes good. I really missed american food and this was really good option here!

Leider kann man mehr als 2 punkte nicht geben und die sind für das sehr nette Personal und die zentrale Lage in Helsinki. Ansonsten sind die Bürger pappig und lieblos zusammen geklatscht, die Saucen aus der Tube die Pommes alt und aufgewärmt. Ganz untypisch in Finnland die heruntergekommenen und unsauberen Toiletten… das muss noch besser werden! Bezahlt wird an der Kasse. Kein WLAN, allerdings kann man problemlos ins Netz des Asiaten nebenan als gast einchecken.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Helsinki years ago. I was out with a buddy of mine and was thinking that why haven’t I gone to Memphis in years. Well, maybe because there have been so many new interesting restaurant s popping up in Helsinki and Memphis closing some of its locations down. I remember that this location in particular was always packed with people even during the slower afternoon hours, but now, there were only a few other tables that had people dining.
First impressions? All that I can say is «Wow, has this place gone downhill». Although the menu is almost the same it was ten years ago the food is almost unrecognisable. A good example is the Memphis burger I got. The bun looked and tasted horrible and the meat… wow, even dog meat is better than what they served. It wasn’t the kitchens fault, the management has definitely been hard at work cutting costs.
So, the food was bad. Anything else? To top everything off the service was slooooooow. Although there weren’t almost any people at the restaurant, we waited over ten minutes for service, after which I had to go grab the menus myself. They didn’t have a shortage on staff though. There were five waitresses talking behind the counter to themselves without a care in the world. I was thinking that how many people go the restaurant and then just walk away after have waited for twenty minutes or so. I’m thinking that quite a few.
Do not go to this restaurant. Your experience will be horrible. It is a true shame what has happened to Memphis in the last five years. I will not be dining here again unfortunately. Goodbye old friend. :-(
