Atmosphère

We’ve been to Atmosphere a few times. Always delicious, great ambiance. Ask to sit on the terrace overlooking the river.

Année après année nous restons fidèles à l’Atmosphère sans jamais être déçus. Bien sûr, n’ayant pas réservé, nous n’avons hélas pu bénéficier d’une table en bord de torrent (le must.) mais le menu dit savoyard était de qualité et le service toujours précis. Une des bonnes tables de Chamonix idéalement située.

We found this wonderful place searching for another and it was a blessing in disguise. We had the most wonderful waitress from Brittany treat us like gold! A shared entrée of oysters, very fresh then two mains of lamb and veal were just delicious. In was so good we were back the next night for the degustation menu which was a great way to sample other scrumptious items. Definitely visit atmosphere when your in Chamonix and book in advance…

Amazing place and the location is absolutely gorgeous! I wouldn’t get the fondue but overall The food is outstanding! We were fairly large group with kids too, but not one order was messed up and we were conveniently seated. The staff was very cheerful and attentive. The recommendations were perfect, along with wine pairing and let’s not forget the desert. Great place to have dinner and relax after a long day of skiing.

We went to Atmosphere at the recommendation of my husband’s uncle who is a chef in Lyon. The food was fabulous and quite a find in a ski town. We absolutely loved the lamb, wine recommendations and dessert. It’s a bit off the main drag which reduces the tourists.

We were at L’Atmosphere twice in 2012 and the food was truly outstanding. So good you would want to come back to Chamonix just for another dinner there.
Now coming back in August 2014 we were somewhat disappointed. Food was still good, but had lost its special touch. Nothing spectacular and absolutely missing the «wow» if had two years back. We both had the menu. My girlfriend had a Tartiflette which was somewhat overcooked. I had an entrecôte — nothing wrong with it but only average.
Service was good but not super attentive.
Somebody wrote in another post (different website) that the chef de cuisine left and opened his own place. That might explain it. And have to find out which place this is!

Bravo… perfect meal, atmosphere and service… dont be fooled by the front entry, its down the stairs and in through a narrow entry, but inside its cozy with some river views as well. My servers were tip top top notch… casual yet elegant place, perfect service really, right down to the several changes of silverware, crumbing of my table and service with a smile… the food was fantastic… I started with a jerusalem artichoke cream soup, filet of sea bream (also called John Dory) served over mashed potato with carrots and snow peas, dessert was crème brûlée and even my espresso was served with a little diving bomb of chocolate. They have prix fix menus and tons of other options for all palates. I highly recommend this place when in Chamonix!

Bonne mais chère cuisine
Situé au centre mais pas en terrasse dans la rue principale. Bonne cuisine, mais mauvais rapport qualité prix. D’autres restaurants sont aussi bons mais moins chers à Chamonix.

An excellent choice for those seeking the best in cuisine in a beautiful setting seated next to the torrent of the River as though you are moving on a journey to the lake. i had the veal which was cooked to perfection, and although I didn’t eat dessert i watched others indulge themselves in some delicious options. while its not cheap it is a place for celebrations or romantic meals for two, but perhaps not for the solo diner.

Gehobenes Restaurant mit überschaubarer Karte von regionalen Spezialitäten. Sehr ambitionierte Preise, aber dafür auch ausgesprochen gute Qualität der Gerichte und Getränke. Man kann im hinteren Teil des Restaurants quasi fast auf dem reißenden Gebirgsbach speisen. Sehr zuvorkommender Service durch die Kellner. Der Eingang ist zwar etwas versteckt, aber der Tipp unseres Hotels hat sich gelohnt.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Not the best in town, but close to it and worth a visit.

Cuisine raffinée sans être snob. Une salle magnifique, en particulier la terrasse au dessus de l’Arve. Adresse incontournable de Chamonix.

Ce restaurant est une valeur sûre à Chamonix. Il propose une cuisine mêlant classiques de la gastronomie française et spécialités savoyardes.
Nous n’avons testé que la fondue savoyarde –excellente — à base de comté 24 mois et accompagnée de pommes de terre et charcuteries locales, arrosée d’un vin de Savoie fruité. Belle carte des vins proposant notamment un grand choix de demi bouteilles, ce qui est rare.
L’accueil et le service ont été courtois et très sympathiques. Demandez à être placé dans la véranda surplombant l’Arve où l’ambiance est cosy.
Budget: 20 — 40 EUR par personne. Réservation vivement recommandée. N’hésitez pas à consulter leur site internet qui affiche la carte et les menus. Une bonne adresse à Chamonix.

La qualité au centre de chamonix
Voilà un restaurant qui n’est pas un attrape touriste et qui offre tout aussi bien des plats de pays que des mets plus élaborés de bonnes qualités contrairement a la plupart des restaurants du centre de Chamonix. Les prix sont pour autant assez raisonnable (19 à 32 euros). Le service est assez rapide et si vous êtes étranger, rassurez vous séjournez à la pleine saison le personnel est cosmopolite et vous pourrez être entendu tout aussi bien en italien qu’en anglais qu’en allemand ou qu’en russe. Pour les amateurs de fondu, elle est ici copieuse et gouteuse, contrairement à d’autres parfois fades. Le pain perdu est excellent, le filet mignon de bonne qualité etc. Par contre peu de choix de vins au verres hélas, comme dans la plupart des restaurants. Enfin le décor est celui d’un restaurant tout ce qu’il y a de plus courant aujourd’hui.
