NOBU Fairmont Monte Carlo

My experience at NOBU in Monaco was way better than the one in NYC, Tribeca location. I had a dinner reservation at 9:15 pm for outside seating and was seated promptly. The interior was spacious, but outside on the terrace was VERY romantic especially at night time. But my experience was ruined a little bit by smokers next to my table. I would prefer to smell the fresh air from the ocean instead of smoke.
I ordered Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, Beef tenderloin with dry miso, softshell crab roll, and crispy pork belly with spicy aka miso. All of those dishes were FANTASTIC, especially pork belly. I really recommend it if you love pork belly. Then I ended my dinner with crème brûlée which was just perfect.
Service was superb. The waitress was very friendly and professional. What an amazing night.

MONACO NOBU — What can we say… we had big expectations for this etiquette and at the end, we were disappointed. The positives first: the service is very surprisingly good and friendly. not common for monaco/​france. The quality of the food was also there. tasty. but…
but the negatives killed us. The way things were organized was chaos. our warm dishes came before our rolls, the confusion was total. we had to ask 3 times for every thing, from a glass of wine to a spicy sauce. A glass of wine also priced at 15 euros ! When you pay the premium price, you need to have it perfect. Also inside is very disappointed decoration, a big empty and sooooo noisy. impossible to speak. outside terrace is gorgeous… but for 2 only… Even the tables were not cleaned after each dishes we had to ask them to do it. So all in all a very very expensive dinner with a disappointing result. I am pretty sure this would not happen in the US
