Kings Pub

If King Louis XIV wanted to rock, this would be his pub. Le rock, c’est moi?
Hey, this is France after all, not exactly a country identified with pubs so perhaps Henry VIII is a more appropriate king to name. He’d have no trouble finding a wife to eventually execute given the youthful crowd at King’s Pub.
While the young maidens smoked and drank outside, the real draw that hooked us was the live electric guitar chords of a Green Day song traveling at the speed of sound to our spot on the Rue. Let’s investigate!
With not a single spare seat at the various tables that made up the interior, we stood at the bar. A glance to the left revealed a doorway to the bathroom which had a Frank Zappa poster plastered on it. Decorating the bar were various posters of albums and bands, with U2 prominently displayed along with football penants (Soccer, my american friends).
Guinness on tap, along with Kilkenny… was this Ireland? To restablish that I was on the Continent, a Leffe was ordered en Francais and my change was given in English. (The word quarante is not easy to hear in a loud bar as I stood dumbfounded, trying to count the euros in my pocket until the bar tender took pity on me and said forty.)
Cover band proceeded to rock out, with a rollicking take on Metallica’s «Enter Sandman». Culturally I was at a confused crossroads, listening to American music, while sipping Belgian beer, in a part of France that had been Italian until 1860. I like it!
Like in America, however, you’ll find that such spots can attract the antics of frat boys and their chest bumping, tutu-​wearing (Yes, you read correctly) hazing rituals. When the music began to progress to the emo and the frat activity was bubbling up, it was time for a graceful exit.
Do visit King’s Pub for a pint of your favorite beer and an earful of music. It’s one of the more lively scenes on an already lively street.

Les gens qui vont dans se pub sont souvent TRÈS jeune, et du milieux du métal (si ca né vous corresponds pas, passez votre chemin)
Pour ce qui est du pub en lui même, les prix sont un peu cher, la musique est assez aléatoire (parfois de bon groupe, parfois non), la disposition des tables n’est pas très bien pensé, le service n’est pas exceptionnel mais reste quand même correct.

Je n’aime pas ce pub, l’accueil y est froid quand on né connait pas le patron. L’endroit est mal configuré.

Vendredi, un bon groupe passait là bas. Les serveurs sont plutôt agréables. La salle n’est pas très grande et donc il est difficile d’avoir de la place, et pour s’asseoir et pour danser. Mais l’endroit est correct

excellent si vous aimez le vrai rock…
j’y suis allé suite aux coms sur ce site, et je n’ai absolument pas été déçu…
quel dommage de devoir repartir

LE pub incontournable du vieux nice !
Des serveuses sexy, des lives tous les soirs ! A cette adresse, jamais aucun doute sur la qualité des groupes qui jouent sur scèné: ce né sont que les meilleurs de la région ! Rock des années 70, ou plus récent, compositions telentueuses, il y a de tout mais que du bon !
Les incontournables Running Birds y sont un peu chez eux.
Paolo et Mara vous accueillent avec une energie qui n’a d’égale que leur gentillesse…
Les habitués y sont si attachés qu’ils ont crée un forum, un facebook et deux myspace !!!
