This is an excellent restaurant. The food is great, and the staff are excellent.
When we walked in we were given a chalk written menu which looked absolutely insane :). The waiter stayed by and offered to translate the menu for us personally.
I had the Bacon and Cheesr Burger (18 €). This was an amazing dish and make sure to use the sauces provided.
Absolutely amazing restaurant and would come back anytime.

This place!!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted very warmly and offered a table with a chalkboard set up by our table with the menu which changes every few days. The owner is very friendly and he waited on us personally, discussing house specials and giving suggestions. The place is super cozy and clean with lots of light and a very interesting mosaic type floor. While we were there, several locals walked in, which is a good indicator of food quality. We were not disappointed! We had a seabass with maiz and coconut crust as well as an eggplant bruschetta and Russian beet soup served cold (not Borscht!) all amazing with complex, well balanced flavors. Finally we had a goat cheese cheesecake which melts in your mouth covered my local berries. Everything is made in house. It was a gourmet experience in a café. Highly recommend although I almost don’t want to since I don’t ever want this place to become an overcrowded tourist spot. Love!

We had a delicious meal of linguine with red snapper & artichokes and foie gras. The people that work here couldn’t be more welcoming. Simon in particular was very friendly and helpful. They were gracious enough to help us in English since we speak practically no French. We really enjoyed the food & wine and the company of the staff. We will definitely return!

Fantastic lunch spot and like the other reviewers from abroad we found to service excellent, food very tasty, and most importantly our server was very helpful in translating their menu. Would recommend for a lunch near the Eiffel Tower for other tourists or locals!

Flew in for a week long vacation. After wandering around Paris for a bit, I decided to research some places to eat within a reasonable distance from our hotel, and this place was pretty much at the top of the list.
I came here with my fiancée for our first dinner in paris. It was a Monday night and was pretty dead, so the service was impeccable. Our waiter spoke very good english, and was happy to do so, which is something that cant be said for all resturaunts. We both ordered the beef wrapped in a pastry. I cannot begin to describe how good it was. Perfectly cooked. The chocolate cake for dessert was sublime as well.
€ 100 for a mid range bottle of wine, two entrees, a starter, two desserts, and two cappuccinos, all of which were delicious is a-​okay in my book.
We loved this place so much we came back for our last dinner in Paris.
Highly suggest checking this place out if you are in Paris, especially in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower.

Picture the scene. Two American gals wandering the streets of Paris, searching for food somewhere in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower. We were looking for, and eventually found, a restaurant that was recommended by our handy Rick Steves guidebook. What we could not account for, unfortunately, was the tendency of French restauranteurs to close up house whenever they so choose. We looked up another place on the Unilocal app on my phone and walked there. Closed. Mon dieu! I pulled up Café de Mars, which was next on our Unilocal list, and blessedly, it was open! And, although we did not have the all-​important reservation for any Parisian restaurant worth dining at in the evening, they squeezed us in – literally – into a small table for two in a back corner. Despite the awkward cramping of my tall frame into the back chair, I was rather delighted with the place right away. It’s small, warm, and intimate. And a little bit hip. The bar was busy, and I enjoyed listening to the conversation between the American girl working behind it, who explained how she came to Paris to study art, and found herself working the bar in this Café part time as a favor to a friend. It just sounds like such an American-​in-​Paris kind of story. The café had an eclectic assortment of cookbooks on the shelf behind me, which I was happy to peruse while we waited for our food. Our server was swift to bring over a menu board for us to peruse while we made important deliberations, and was just as efficient as I had come to expect of my Parisian wait staff by then. We had been in Paris for several days by this point, and were starting to get pressed to try the next new thing. (We are not into the safe «steak and frites» tourist fare.) I finally landed on the Chilean sea bass in a curried pumpkin sauce and a goat cheesecake for dessert. It was exquisite. We had just enough time to enjoy our meals when we were gently asked if we were ready for our check. This is not typical of French restaurants – you can usually stay for as long as you please, which indeed we could have if we had made a reservation. However, another gentleman was waiting for our table. This was not a rude exchange at all, and I was happy that they were so accommodating to us in the first place. We happily paid, left, and capped off the night with a viewing of the lights on the Eiffel Tower. Lovely! I would recommend Café de Mars to anyone.

Small intimate place, with great table service. Our family was fortunate to be able to secure a reservation at this cute little place. The menu changes daily/​weekly. Our food was delicious, promptly served with a smile. The staff here is not pretentious like you find in other restaurants in Paris.
We had a nice white fish with a light cream, and a small piece side of salad. My kids were blown away with the selection, not much of a kid menu, but for Paris this place is very affordable.
Dessert was a hit, with chocolate cake and goat cheesecake. Will definitely return on our next trip to Paris.

This a wonderful Café! The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly! My experience during lunch was great. I would highly recommend this café. Good selection of French dishes.

I am still thinking about the dessert here: caramel banana ice cream with peanut brittle.

Service is attentive, location is perfect (tucked into a side street near the tour Eiffel) but the food is the real winner here! Menu changes weekly. We have been coming for the past year and have always enjoyed delicious meals. Recommend getting a reservation on the weekend. Also, they are always so accommodating to us with our baby, don’t hesitate going with a young one.

WOW! It’s hard to even begin to put into words how excellent this meal was. Unilocal reviews do not do this hidden gem justice. We were incredibly pleased with everything from the service, to the wine, to the meal. A must go if you’re in the area. If you get the chance order Terrine de lapin confit, salade de carottes roses pistachio, saumon, asperges, sucrines, verveine, Filet de bœuf en croûte, Goat cheese cake with blueberries, gâteau au chocolat du pasteur ! WOW!

I don’t know why there are not more reviews for this wonderful French restaurant by the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing! For starters we had the asparagus and the salad. Both were presented beautifully. For dinner we had the lamb sausage and the beef in pastry. Another beautiful presentation and so so flavorful. For desert we had the chocolate cake and a goat cheese cheese cake. Words can’t describe how great it was.
The service was fantastic as well. Our waiter was always on point with refills and asking if we needed anything. The only little problem we had was trying to get his attention to get the bill. Not really his fault, it is a small place and he was busy with two very large tables at the other end of the restaurant.
We will recommend this small delicious café to anyone we know coming to Paris. I’m so glad we found it.

Last meal in Paris on a Friday night. Café de Mars was near our hotel and we’d passed it a few times, thought we’d check it out. The place was PACKED. Menu was posted outside and easy to follow. They seated us as quickly as possible and were very helpful given my limited French. Menu changes daily, and this was an Asian-​inspired night and very creative. Appetizers were 8−12(eur), main dishes 17 and desserts 8. Nice wine by the glass selection as well. Food was great, place was full of locals and very lively.
If you want to have a more local experience, I think walking by Café de Mars and checking it out is a great idea. If the menu speaks to you that night, you won’t be disappointed.

My newlywed wife and I went out to find a place off the beaten path in Paris, we came across Café de Mars, and we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, the food was quite tasty, the wine list was small but well curated. We loved it, and hope to be back soon!

One of the best meals in years. We found this place after finding another restaurant we were seeking was closed. The service was brisk and friendly. The appetizers were delicious, one was a fennel salad that was hard to describe… but perfect. I had a lamb soup and it was amazing. My gf had a white fish with this leeks that I am describing from over a week ago and the memory’s fading… but it was spectacular. But I had this fillet of beef with a croustade and it was mind blowing. Moist, medium rare, tender and heavenly. For the price, one of the best meals I’ve ever had, actually. I’ve paid more but euro for euro… this was memorable. I’d go there again without a thought.

We went here for our first dinner in Paris because it received such glowing Unilocal reviews. Our experience, though certainly not unpleasant, also wasn’t much to write home about.
One thing you should know (that we didn’t), is that the menu changes daily, so the awesome food descriptions you see here likely won’t be in effect when you go. Because of this, the menu is also very limited: there were only four entrees available when we were there, none of which were particularly appealing to me at that particular time.
For us, the food seemed hit or miss. Our foie gras appetizer was only okay… a big slab of cold, rather solid pâté (as opposed to the gooey warm deliciousness we had other nights at other restaurants). Ditto with our beef: it was a little too chewy, and the red wine sauce a little too single-​note to be really outstanding. On the other hand, our dining companion’s fish, with a Thai-​derivative peanut sauce, was light and flavorful and pretty amazing.
Our waiter rejected my (admittedly crappy) French and spoke English to us, but did not seem particularly pleased about it.
We opted to go elsewhere for dessert.

— PRIX!!! 8 € l’entrée; 17 € le plat quel qu’il soit! Perso j’avais pris un bruger (steak minuscule qualité moyenne; une goutte de sauce; une mini tranche de bacon) avec 4bouts de patates qui se battent en duel…
Et pour moi encore ça allait! 3autres personnes étaient à ma table, et leur assiette étaient quasi vides.
Le prix aurait été acceptable si seulement les portions avaient été suffisantes et/​ou la qualité des produits exquises…

Une personne à ma table a voulu commander qu’une seule entrée (un croq monsieur). la serveuse lui a dit «vous voulez que je le demande plus gros? car sinon c’est vraiment petit»; chose faite, on voit l’assiette arriver: 3pauvres lamelles hyper fines/​étroites recouvertes de fromage; c’est ça le croque monsieur «plus gros»??
Quelle né fut pas la stupéfaction de voir au moment de l’addition, que cet énoooorme croque monsieur a été facturé 17 €, comme un plat quoi: D magnifique!
Vraiment une adresse à fuir selon moi, sauf si on a les moyens de claquer autant d’argent dans un repas comprenant obligatoirement entrée+plat+dessert (sous peine de ressortir de table, comme nous avec encore faim).
Vraiment une arnaque au vu du prix et de la quantité.

The staff was so kind and both waiters I had spoke English. The food was really good! I had the steak and it was better than most steaks I get in the states. Yum! Great cute décor as well. I would for sure go back and I may just do that.

Great food and very friendly and helpful staff. They explained the entire menu to us while treating us like locals. My wife, daughter and I all had the steak which was delicious. Going to take a while to work off the amazing mashed potatoes. My son had the skate; which he declared «best fish ever.» A solid meal, reasonably priced and friendly service.

I came to this restaurant because it’s one of the few highly rated places near the Eiffel Tower that didn’t cost an arm and a leg (24 euros for appetizer + main course or main course + dessert) and it’s highly rated for good reason. Note that this restaurant doesn’t open until 8 PM so don’t come looking for an early dinner.
The place is a very quiet French restaurant and based on how most people who came in interacted with the waiters, it seems like it’s a favorite even among the locals. It’s rather hard to find as it’s in a side street, but it’s worth the trek to find it if you’re looking for a good place to eat by the Eiffel Tower.
The waiters were a delight to talk with. They understood English and even offered assistance in explaining the menu. They were very courteous and constantly checked up on us throughout our meal. My only complaint would be that our water ran out and was never refilled, but this wasn’t until close to the end of the meal.
The food was amazing. I had an appetizer of foie gras which was great and not terribly expensive. I also had a crêpe of beef cheek and the meat was just so well cooked. My mom who had the back of cod described it as the best meal she’s had in Europe thus far. Given how picky she is with how fish is cooked, I’d say that’s a good sign. If you’re expecting large portions though, a French restaurant is probably a bad place for that. Otherwise, I’d say this restaurant was well worth it.

My friend is a regular of Café de Mars and she brought me here for a meal on a Thursday night. I was warmly greeted as I entered the restaurant and the staff were friendly in general (a nice change from your typical Parisian bistro.). We came here thinking that the menu price continued into the evening but the set deal is only available at lunch. This made dinner slightly more expensive than we had planned and perhaps a little over priced for what we got. However the food was definitely great — I had the lamb tagine with orange flavoured couscous that was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. It was a good portion size too and the bread was a sourdough bake. Yum.
I had the gâteau chocolat for dessert — moreish, rich, soft in the middle. It was very well done and I am a particularly fussy chocolate cake eater. Not the best I have ever had and it was served simply with a small blob of unidentifiable cream of some sort. It could have been served with a little bit more ‘something’ for the price I paid.
The waitress suggested a lovely red to accompany our meal and the overall ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area — however be prepared to pay a bit extra for the privilege of eating in the 7^th.

Petit restaurant très sympa dans un cadre discret mais convivial. Une Sélection de vins correcte et une carte qui se renouvelle régulièrement avec des produits de saison et de qualité.
Rapport qualité prix excellent pour le 7eme et staff très sympa.
Très bon magret de canard sur purée de panais et épinards frais!

I see that I am the odd man out by posting a 3-​star rating instead of a 5-​star rating, but as a Paris resident who has eaten in dozens of French restaurants, I think that awarding 5 stars for our meal would be overrating them.
The server /​service was very friendly and helpful, and I appreciate that in this city (where service is not always great). The main courses we ordered (one pork, one fish) were just so-​so (not particularly flavorful). The prices were typical for Paris, so no advantage there. The dessert was also nothing great. Picard probably has more interesting (and cheaper) dessert choices.

Pure gastronomic genious! The culinary collaboration of Pierre and Gina is NOT TO BE missed during your stay in paris. The fresh menu that changes daily and the price point is amazing!!! This restaurant is truly a one-​of-​a-​kind parisienne gem.

Quasiment ma cantine, je né suis jamais déçue quand je vais y déjeuner.
Un de mes plus beaux souvenirs est un onctueux risotto aux morilles. Les entrées sont toujours inventives (crostini aux navets et buffala, salade Ottolenghi…), la plupart du temps on y trouve un soupe, une assiette de jambon iberrique et de chorizo…
Au niveau des plats, 2 traditionnels demeurent toujours à la carte: le burger maison et le filet de beouf (en croustade si l’on veut) accompagné d’une purée de pommes de terre. A ces 2 plats indémodables, s’ajoutent un poisson et une autre viande (volaille souvent). Légumes du marché, sucré salé/​saveurs orientales et asiatiques viennent inspirer la chef californienne qui apporte toujours une touché ethnique !
Les deserts sont un peu moins originaux mais on trouve très souvent des sorbets maison avec de délicieux sablés à la noisette.
Les vins sont choisis avec soin et le service très agréable !

Une belle adresse de quartier. Une jolie formule du jour toujours aguichante et de beaux plats très bien maîtrisés.

Restaurant sans âme, des chaises qui donnent l’impression d’être récupérées dans une benne voisine. Le restaurant qui se veut cosy simple et chic, ressemble davantage à un restaurant pour routiers qu’à un restaurant du 7ème arrondissement. Le fond de commerce se limite à faire copain-​copine avec l’équipe, qui n’ont pas les tenues adéquates pour servir (servir en jeans baskets sans tablier!)
Pour une clientèle non exigeante ou les touristes des hôtels voisins, ce restaurant conviendra. Si vous cherchez un restaurant au même prix, choisissez en un autre…

On nous a conseillé d’aller (re) découvrir ce resto complètement transformé depuis l’arrivée toute récente de nouveaux propriétaires. Le conseil d’un ami de plus de 30 ans a vaincu le souvenir sceptique d’un endroit vraiment pas terrible.
Vive les conseils amicaux ! nous avons été ravis au point de… né plus me souvenir précisément (c’était en février dernier…) des choix de tout le monde car la soirée était trop réussie !!
Pour moi, c’était une viande délicieusement préparée. Ensuite, un dessert que je n’aurais pas choisi spontanément en craignant le «trop sucré»… mais j’ai suivi la recommandation du serveur: une «tarte au caramel» absolument formidable et subtile… à mille lieues de ce que je craignais.
Bref ! c’était ma soirée «je suis les conseils» et, a posteriori, je m’en félicite.
Oui ! dîner et soirée très agréables dans ce restaurant. La nouvelle équipe a effectivement relooké le décor avec une élégance-​chic-​sobre ET… la cuisine aussi a été revisitée avec qualité. C’est très réussi ! La carte des vins est courte mais nous a réservé une très bonne surprise à prix doux. Bravo ! D’ailleurs, nous né devons pas être les seuls à apprécier le changement car le restaurant était plein malgré la toute récente ouverture…

A mi-​chemin entre Invalides et la Tour Eiffel, le Café Mars accueille chaque jour une clientèle de passage et d’habitués de 9H à 2H du matin.
La déco années 20 donne le ton et la carte du chef rodé aux grands resto propose des plats semi-​gastronomiques.
Le menu du midi à 13,80 Euros, Entrée+Plat+Dessert met les papilles en alerte avec notamment ses oeufs Meurette ou sa terrine de poissons maison, côté plat de résistance le Coquelet fermier est d’enfer et il y a souvent un bon choix de poisson.
Clientèle un peu bon teint, 7ème oblige, mais relativement décontractée, le restaurant organise un vendredi par mois un concert de jazz.

Le type de resto qui né sert finalement pas à grand chose: c’est pas trop mal mais ça manqué d’originalité (j’ai l’impression d’avoir diné dans 50 restos comme ça à Paris). Cote de boeuf, tartare, etc, etc. Le tout pas donné. En bref: y’a mieux.

M’appretais à passer un moment sympathique avec des amis. L’expérience Café de Mars était prometteuse. Malheureusement il n’en fut rien. Même si le lieu est chaleureux la nourriture est plus que décevante. La carte est maigre. Le cheeseburger qui fait tant parler est servi dans des muffins (?), les autres plats sont accompagnés au choix de frites, purée ou riz… Les assiettes sont ridicules et cheres. Pour 15 € le plat seul, ou 22 € avec une entrée ou un dessert je m’attendais à bien mieux. A éviter.
