Frenchie To Go

The Pecan pie is amazing! The best Pecan pie that I’ve ever had, not too sweet just right. You have to get the Pecan pie!

We had the Pastrami sandwich, the fried chicken sandwich and fries. The meal was definitely over priced. The pastrami sandwich was one of the smaller pastrami sandwiches I’ve seen, and around 14 euros. It should probably be priced more at 8 euros. The fried chicken sandwich had a huge amount of coleslaw dripping out of it, which wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t so much mayonnaise. By the time we finished, the entire plate was covered in mayo that dropped out of the sandwich. Chicken was fried dark meat, which made it very greasy and (as my girlfriend said) «gross». The French fries were very thin and looked like the burnt ends left over in the fryer (I think they have a different French fry option in the menu though). Finally, the place is really over crowded, making it difficult to find a place to sit and eat. Another group walked out after being told they have to order at the counter before they can sit down (they were standing for about 5 minutes waiting for a table to empty before they sat down). Not worth the time it took us to order and wait standing for a table, or the money we paid.

Venu ici sans connaître la réputation de l’établissement, et sans grande conviction, j’ai été convaincu immediatement!
Depuis, je suis revenu et tout ce que j’i ou gouter était bon, voire très bon!
Le Reuben est excellent mais les autres sandwichs né sont pas en reste.
En revanche, je n’ai pas été séduit par deux choses: le hot-​dog, que j’ai trouvé étrange (la saucisse toute fine dans un pain assez gros) et pas à mon gout. Et deuxième point: les tarifs: si l’on s’emballe à prendre deux sandwichs (car c’est bon et qu’on peut manger deux sandwichs par gourmandise!), une boisson, un dessert… C est vite ³⁵⁄₄₀ €.
Mais bon, pour être honnête, C est vraiment une bonne adresse, c’est très bons, les produits sont de qualité sans aucune contestation possible!
Soyez vigilants le week-​end car l’endroit est assez petit mais est est victime de son succès, donc les places peuvent être limitées dans le restaurant!

Après ma folle nuit à l’escale, je me réveille chez un pote à strasbourg st denis, avec la pire gueule de bois du monde, et une faim d’ours brun, et là, boom des tickets resto dans mon sac, il est pas trop tard, on profite du seul moment de détermination pour se lever, et on y file.
J’aurais aimé aimer cet endroit, vraiment.
Depuis le temps que j’entends parler de leur fameux pulled pork sandwich, je décide de tester avec des frites et un verre d’iced tea maison…
Bah c’était pas fameux, désolée.
Le bun ultra moelleux, j’adore, le pulled pork fondant, j’aime bien, la betterave vinaigrée, j’aime pas, la sauce bbq trop salée, outch… et les pousses d’épinards qui sont là histoire de, merci mais non merci.
La sauce barbecue et moi c’est une grande histoire d’amour, je rigole pas avec ça, j’en mange partout, j’en mets même sur mes pizzas (et c’est très bon ok?) alors imagine ma tronche quand j’ai senti le tas de sel attaquer mes papilles. Ouais j’ai tiré une sale tronche.
Puis j’ai pas trouvé l’association betterave/​pulled pork tip top à vrai dire (j’ai d’ailleurs enlevé les betteraves car j’ai vraiment pas aimé)
Puis les frites…
Bön, ok le serveur m’a prévenu que c’était des allumettes blabla, mais j’ai trouvé qu’il n’y avait aucune matière, comme si je bouffais des chips à la mayo quoi (sauce industrielle en plus!).
Bref, moi qui cherchais un sandwich bien fat pour éponger les cocktails de la veille, c’est raté!

Très joli cadre assez intimiste (mais malheureusement étroit, pensez à réserver en week-​end), j’étais partie faire un tour pour découvrir leur fameux brunch, mais comment dire… la découverte s’est avérée courte quand la note s’élevait déjà à 14h pour un sandwich et un jus d’orange. Un sandwich aux oeufs, bacon et cheddar avec un verre de jus sont, certes, des valeurs sûres que Frenchie To Go a su relever, mais mon idée de brunch a disparu aussi tôt. Pas mal donc, mais si l’on a faim, il y a des adresses aux brunchs plus copieux.

J’ai enfin testé le Frenchie to go et malheureusement je né suis pas si enthousiaste que les autres.
L’endroit est vraiment mignon et j’ai beaucoup aimé la déco ainsi que le fait que la cuisine soit ouverte sur la salle.
Concernant le service, ils étaient sympa mais la commande à bien mis 15min a arriver alors que la plupart des personnes en salle étaient déjà servies.
J’ai trouvé que les sandwich étaient bons (j’ai pris le Reuben sandwich) et les frites maison parfaitement croustillantes mais ça né m’a pas fait décoller. On sent tout de même que les ingrédients sont de super bonne qualité et les recettes sont assez originales! Mais je suppose qu’on m’en a tellement parlé que j’avais des expectatives très élevées et finalement j’ai trouvé que c’était bon mais juste bon. En plus, ils ont trop fait griller mon pain qui avait un côté brûlé et ça j’aime pas DU TOUT. On surveille le grill Messieurs les cuisiniers! Par contre le cheesecake qu’on a pris était très très bon. Normalement j’aime pas les cheesecakes nature mais là j’ai trouvé qu’il était parfait avec sa figue confite et son biscuit croquant.
Je pense que c’est un concept original et ça change des typiques sandwich mais je m’attendais à plus. Je reviendrai sans doute si un jour je suis dans le quartier et je lui donnerai une deuxième chance pour me surprendre!

Frenchie to go, un incontournable de Paris qui manquait à ma liste, direction donc la rue du Nil ce midi pour réparer cette erreur.
Arrivés en heure de pointe on a d’abord eu peur de né pas avoir de place car la salle qui est petite était déjà pleine, mais heureusement pour nous et les personne suivantes plusieurs personnes étaient en train de partir.
On fait donc la queue pour passer la commande, plusieurs personnes devant mais qui prenaient à emporter, parfait, ça laisse le temps pour choisir ce qu’on veut.
Pour ma part ce sera un Pastrami on rye: pain de seigle aux graines de carvi, poitrine de bœuf shorthorn fumée, sauce savora, cornichons pickles maison (description du sandwich par la maison). On accompagne le tout d’une bonne portions de frites, c’est bon, pas trop gros mais ça cale. Le pain est parfait, bien doré, et il y a beaucoup de saveurs en bouche. Les frites ont tout ce qu’on attend d’une frite, bien cuites, croustillantes, pas trop grasses, juste ce qu’il faut.
Pour avoir goûté le sandwich de ma copine (le Reuben), tous leurs sandwichs ont l’air très bons, j’ai même préféré le sien, mais ça donne envie d’y retourner et de goûter le reste de la carte qui est simple, un choix suffisant sans qu’il y ait trop de choses, c’est efficace.
Les boissons font une large place à la bière, de l’américaine à la française, mais il y a aussi un choix de boissons chaudes, du jus Alain Milliat, il y en a pour tous les goûts !
Les prix sont corrects, 11 – 14 € le sandwich, on s’en sort pour environ 20 € avec les frites et un dessert.
Le service a été un peu long compte tenu du monde qu’il y avait, mais la serveuse a été très sympathique.
Une bonne adresse à connaître pour manger sur le pouce mais qui malgré la qualité n’a rien de bien exceptionnel, c’est bon, c’est de qualité, mais ça né m’a pas donné une énorme envie d’y revenir rapidement.

Came here on a weekend for lunch and they ran out of pulled pork during prime time. STUPID. But it’s fine because I tried the Reuben sandwich and it was probably the best one i have ever had in my life. The bread was so greasy, the sauce was HEAVEN-​LY, and the whole combo of everything just worked SO well! I do not like beets and somehow the way the beets was cooked just complimented the sandwich so nicely. Prepare to get your hands dirty. i NEED to come back and try the other sandwiches: D

Pour bien commencer la journée ! Passez prendre un petit muffin au bacon avec une boisson chaude. Tel une habitude anglaise ! Les muffins sont tous géniaux !

Brooklyn style. Endroit sympa.
Une carte assez simple et bien faite.
Cependant le service manqué un peu d’énergie.
Et les sandwichs sont appetissants mais un peu trop salés.
Du coup avis mitigé sur cet endroit.

De bons burgers, de bons produits et des desserts excellent. Le tout pour déjeuner sur le pouce ou à emporter quand il fait beau. Une rue sympathique ou acheter son café, son poisson et des légumes bio.

The sandwiches are awesome. Had the pork, chicken and the lobster roll. The beer selection is great, several specialty beers. Had a IPA that is brewed south of Paris. The food is great, pricey. Our total bill with two beers 60 Euros

I was so bummed to hear that there’s no more fried chicken sandwich :(Why would they do that?! They only have the normal chicken sandwich, sigh…
Anyways, so I got the reuben sandwich instead. It was pretty good, and I liked the bread!
Btw, there’s free wifi here, a clean bathroom (it’s hard to find free public restrooms around Paris!) and there’s a few seats to dine in.

OMG! I tried the seasonal sandwich: Chili con Chicken that was AMAZING! If you are, like me, a big fan of avocado you will love it too.
Unfortunately, it is a seasonal option and they were not sure when it will be gone.
Otherwise don’t miss their dessert salted chocolate pot with olive oil, it is worth it!

L’endroit est sympa: tout petit, tout cosy, on a l’impression d’entrer dans la cuisine d’un ami. Le chef Gregory Marchand propose une carte des sandwich classiques revisités: lobster roll, le pastrami, la truite fumé.
J’ai craqué pour le sandwich au pastrami servi avec des frites en rajoutant des pickles. Trés bon! Néanmoins pas assez copieux.

We discovered Frenchies to go by ways of their main restaurant Frenchies next door. Frenchies to Go is on a little street off a very lively part of Paris. There is seating and take away available. I’ve had their pulled pork sandwich, the pastrami, and the lobster roll. The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite! The french fires are amazing and you have options as far as sauce goes. They also offer free water,.

J’ai pris un fish & chips et un ginger beer maison.
Le poisson est vraiment une tuerie, par contre les frites sont bonnes mais pas non plus folles.
C’est accompagné de sauce tartare (enfin je crois) et d’un condiment vert assez bon, ainsi que de citron.
La boisson était bien.
Je m’en suis tiré pour 18 ou 19 euros je crois, c’est un prix correct pour ce que c’est.

Disappointing.
I really wanted to like this place so we came here twice. First time, I ordered fish & chips and boyfriend ordered pulled pork sandwich. The fish was undercooked & the batter was soggy. The fries were good though (not really much of an accomplishment in Paris). Boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich. I liked the environment & could tell the quality of the ingredients was high so I wanted to give it another shot.
Second time, I ordered the Reuben & boyfriend ordered the special — chicken Caesar sandwich. My Reuben didn’t have any of the bold flavors that a typical Reuben should have. It was flavorless and really could have been any type of deli meat + cole slaw. Boyfriends sandwich tasted overwhelmingly of anchovies. So much so that I questioned whether it was actually chicken in there. Bleh!
With two misses & such steep prices, I won’t be back.
Btw, I found AMAZING fish & chips at another restaurant nearby. If that’s what you’re craving, check out Johana’s.

Came here quite early to start our day and got breakfast sandwiches and beer. Food was good though set up was somewhat confusing. Not a super friendly place but we didn’t stay long. Good but not the end all be all. No complaints.

Ok le Pulled Pork sandwich est très très bon mais à 12 euros de mémoiré, c’est très exagéré.
Quand à la «tarte à la fraise sur riz au lait», c’était carrément mauvais.

On a little side street lies a piece of Brooklyn. Well, it gave me the Brooklyn feels, okay? I was jetlagged and hungry! It was nice to find a place that serves proper breakfast on a weekday morning in Paris. Which is quite rare! If you want more than a café and pastry and/​or baguette. Its a small very casual place, with a small menu. It wasn’t to busy when we arrived. We ordered at the register and sat at a counter looking out onto the street, watching morning deliveries being made. Sigh * Paris*

English scone bacon w Maple Syrup — 3,80 €
–this was a small scone but it was delicious, SUPER delicious, a little pricey but you’re in Paris so Treat yo’ self, kay. Had I known how delicious I wouldn’t have shared and I would have gotten three for breakfast.
We also got a Bacon Breakfast sandwich and a Eggs Benedict!
MEAT is good here. That’s their thing… I think, well it should be if it isn’t. The bacon is delicious and the pastrami was great. All made in house an

Endroit très sympa. Les prix sont un peu chers sachant qu’ils né font pas de menu sur place mais seulement à emporter. Leur sandwich est vraiment à tomber et très original (le Reuben sandwich est vraiment à essayer) leur dessert, le cheesecake est aussi originale est plutôt bon. Je recommande !!

Frenchie to Go is perfect for a brunch or lunch. One of the few places to serve breakfast all day, you can’t go wrong with their unique eggs benedict served with pastrami and mustard for a taste you won’t forget. But the real kicker here is the Reuben and fries. Share it. It’s perfect for two and will remind you of that deli in New York you’ve been missing while in Paris.

Meh. Maybe my experience was soured by the fact that they gave my order (the Reuben) to the guy sitting next to me at the counter and then asked me to take his order (the pastrami), claiming that it’s pretty much the exact same thing. The good customer service move would have been to comp a dessert or something, but this is France so…
Anyway, if I were a tourist from the U.S. I wouldn’t bother with the place since you can probably find something «more or less exactly like it» in the states.
The bread was very good. The fries are good if you like them thin (not quite shoestring, but nowhere near classic Belgian fries, which have a better potato-​to-​oil ratio in my opinion).
If you’re an expat with a yearning for deli food, I can see coming here. If you’re a tourist, go get the special at Le Petit Vendôme instead. Your local deli doesn’t make a ham sandwich like it.

Petite cantine très sympathique, un peu chère mais le prix vaut les plats.
J’ai pu goûter un très très bon fish&chips, servi dans la bonne humeur et rapidement. Et en dessert un délicieux financier aux amandes grillées et chocolat (résultat je me suis endormie au bureau après!!)
Leurs sandwichs de saison ont l’air d’être une tuerie et je compte bien revenir tous les déguster !
C’est confiné n’y allez pas en grand groupe ou alors pour prendre à emporter. On a vu directement sur la cuisine, je trouve ça atypique et rassurant à la fois.
Le service et l’accueil étaient impeccable, les serveurs à l’écoute et souriant.
J’en ferai ma cantine habituelle si la carte était à quelques E de moins.

Une note de 4 juste pour leur lobster roll qui est une folie furieuse de dingue.
L’un des trucs les plus fous et surprenants testé depuis ce début d’année.
Je n’ai pas testé l’endroit, mais leur service en livraison, et ce lobster roll m’a vraiment marquée! Beaucoup de goût, un lobster délicieux, une sauce bien agréable, dans un pain brioché façon «french toast» à tomber.
Je né pouvais pas né pas en parler.
Testez le! De mon côté, il faut que j’aille voir à quoi ça ressemble dans leur boutique !

On a little street in Paris, on rue du Nil, is this little gem. Frenchie To Go will supply you with the most delicious and greasy comfort food. All dishes are inspired by the US. Do not visit without trying their granola. The best one I’ve have tasted in my life.

Greg Marchand has never let me down – at Frenchie, Frenchie Bar à Vins, and now Frenchie To Go.
To Go has THE best reuben I have ever tasted: a perfect pairing of pastrami and cheddar, seasoned with sour coleslaw. My dining companion had the pastrami on rye, which was a bit dry despite the savora (but why get the plain pastrami when you can get the reuben?). I was tempted to try the hot dog, though there were none left by the time we arrived (just before 4pm, which was a great time to beat the lunch crowds). Now I’m keen on trying the lobster roll.
To round things out we ordered a side of coleslaw (good, but nothing to write home about when it’s outside the reuben) and fries, which we dipped in their curiously delicious curry barbecue sauce.
The bill was steep, so if you’re looking for a sure bet, go for the reuben and skip the sides and drinks.
*UPDATE: just tried the lobster roll and was not disappointed. The tender lobster melts in your mouth (cliché, but I’m not sure if there’s a better way to describe it) in its buttery sauce with notes of celery, squeezed between a greasy brioche bun. A sinful lunch treat!

We had brunch here on a Sunday afternoon — not a whole lot of places are open in Paris on Sundays, so this was a lucky find. It’s a very small café, ideal for takeaway. Sadly we came too early for sandwiches, they don’t serve them until noon. So I settled for eggs florentine with spinach for 10 €. But it wasn’t really «settling,» because it was really a rather nice dish. I loved the abundant spinach, and the hollandaise had great flavor. Sadly, the egg was undercooked for both me and my partner who had the eggs benedict with pastrami. The whites weren’t fully cooked, you could see some translucent jiggly parts which put me off a bit. So beware of that — we ate it anyway, and the taste was very good, but texture was off because the egg white wasn’t done properly. Also, they don’t have decaf coffee, which is disappointing.
Cute place to come for a meal, I’d definitely come back for a sandwich sometime! It sounds to me like they’re the best things here.

Des sandwichs et des plats bien faits, des produits frais mais un service sans sourire, froid, désagréable sans hospitalité. À revoir !

Après mes quelques passages il était temps que j’écrive un avis.
J’adore ce lieu, y étant allée dès ses débuts et il y a quelques semaines, j’ai vu le changement.
On voit que le lieu est victime de son succès, bonne chose pour eux mais moins bonne pour nous. Même en arrivant à 14h le lieu est rempli, impossible de manger sur place. Mais bonne nouvelle, une formule fraîchement apparue permet de prendre un sandwich (pulled pork, hot dog ou Fish And chips, sandwich pastrami), des frites et une boisson à emporter pour 14 – 15 € environ.
Je vous conseille le pulled pork qui est délicieux et les french fries (ils n’ont pas été radin en frites !).
À l’occasion d’un brunch ou déjeuner très en avance, j’ai pu gouter leur sandwich avec oeuf/​bacon/​fromage, tout aussi bon.
Dernier conseil: essayer la limonade qui est excellente et maison.
En résumé, mis à part des prix un peu élevés et un monde pas possible aux heures de pointe, l’endroit est très sympa et on y mange toujours bien.

Yes, fellow Americans, I enjoyed the reuben, the fried chicken and the pulled pork (although I enjoyed the reuben the most). While the rest of the food will remind you of home, the reuben transcends… it must be the combination of the cheese, the home cured pastrami, the slaw, and the good bread and mustard. Have that with an order of fries, a beer, and an antacid and you are set for the day.
I know others said to come early: we came late in the lunch cycle and this seemed to work too, although the crowds come in random waves, so have patience.

C’est drôle car nous sommes tombés complètement par hasard sur Frenchie To Go alors que nous avions réservé Frenchie pour la semaine suivante ! Le concept est sympa, mais je pense que nous avons mal choisi nos plats: la burrata par exemple ce n’était pas idéal en plat unique. A tenter cependant si vous êtes dans le quartier.

Good Old American Food in Paris!
Frenchie To Go was recommended by fellow Unilocalers and it did not disappoint. You won’t find anything really ‘Frenchie’ about this place, but you will find some good comfort food! If you’re missing some dishes from back home, come to Frenchie To Go and see how the French do Americans… not literally, lol!
The best times to come here without the long queue is 15 – 30 minutes before they switch their menu. They tend to sell out quickly on certain items (such as the Lobster Roll and their Eggs Benedict), so get here early!
The quality of food was a plus and overall I enjoyed my meal. I wasn’t expecting to find any good American dishes in Europe, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Tip: self seating, CC accepted, order up front and get there EARLY!

You’d be remiss not to get the bagel with fresh trout. Wow.
That’s all I really have to say! Trout Bagel, get after it guys.

This was a total «meh» for me, so it rates a 2 as defined by the Unilocal gods.
The 2Go place is of course part of the Frenchie’s mini-​empire. I had wanted to visit the flagship location, but after wasting many dollars trying to get through on the phone long-​distance and overseas (with no answering machine), I found out it would be closed in August anyway. Would be nice to have an answering machine tell people that, but Frenchie is apparently infamous for being dicks when it comes to reservations. However, I’m not taking my frustrations with Frenchie out on the 2Go operation — the score is strictly on the merits.
Small menu, which is fine. Prices a little steep (12E for a reuben with a few slices of meat). Best bet is the «fish and chips»: one large piece of perfectly cooked flaky white fish on a substantial pile of frites. It’s the only thing I’d order again.
The sandwiches were not worth it at all. Both the BBQ pork and the Reuben were about 2 parts coleslaw to 1 part meat. The reuben bread was very hard, making the entire sandwich a challenge to eat, and not worth the effort to do so. The BBQ one, served on brioche, was the better of the 2, but still primarily a coleslaw sandwich. Any roadside stand along the highway in Georgia or the Carolina’s could make you a sandwich 3 times as good for ¼ the price.
So I wouldn’t recommend Frenchie to Go as a destination meal, but maybe if you are in the area (I had stopped in at a place nearby called Episode for shopping, and because very little was open on Sunday generally, F2Go was the logical place for lunch).

J’y ai goûté le fish ans chips et le hot-​dog dans le cadre des Heures Heureuses de Paris.
Les bouchées étaient très bonnes et copieuses. Le hot dog est préparé avec du pain de chez Gontran Cherrier.
Le salle est jolie. Perchés sur nos tabourets hauts, nous avions la place devant la vitrine avec vue sur la charmante rue du Nil.
Next step: goûter le sandwich au pastrami qui selon mon collègue est vachement bon.

J’ai testé Frenchie To Go au petit déjeuner. Ce lieu semblait tellement attirant que je voulais au moins une fois m’y arrêter avant d’aller au bureau le matin.
Caché dans la petite rue du Nil, qui est quasiment privatisée par les enseignes du Frenchie, ce restaurant nous fait penser immédiatement à un Déli New Yorkais.
On s’installe, la clientèle est super sympa. On s’y sent tout de suite super bien. Et la carte nous fait voyager immédiatement. Paris-​New York en quelques secondes!!!
Puis vient le temps de commander parce qu’on est bien là pour se régaler!!! On né sait pas quoi choisir, tout semble trop bon. Allez on se lance! Bacon sandwich (English muffins) avec tous les suppléments qui vont bien (oeufs, cheddar). On aimerait bien se faire surprendre par le granola… mince ils ont été dévalisés. Pas grave, on a trouvé une excuse pour revenir.
On dévore à pleines dents le bacon sandwich, on ferme les yeux. Ca y est, on est vraiment à New York là. C’est trop bon!!!
Alors oui, je sens qu’on va continuer à né pas résister à l’envie de s’arrêter prendre un petit dej au Frenchie-​To-​Go avant d’aller bosser!

Le Frenchie To Go a du bon, la qualité des produits proposés ici est simplement trop bonne.
Arrivé spécialement pour tester leur sandwich au pastrami, le Reuben, j’ai dû un peu patienter car les plats sont proposés à partir de 12h00 et pas plus tôt.
Avant midi justement, c’est certainement le moment le plus propice pour profiter de ce «tout petit» lieu. Pour avoir de la place et déguster des sucreries au calme et sans bousculades. La cuisine est aussi grande que la salle. C’est dire!
Le service est assez rapide, tout en étant cordial.
Le Reuben est un bon sandwich, les tranches de pastrami tiennent parfaitement entre les deux tranches de pain de mie toastés. Le fromage et le chou radoucissent le coté fumé et salé du pastrami. Le tout est homogèné. J’ai bien aimé. Contrairement au sandwich de Freddie’s Deli (Mon point de comparaison à Paris), ici la viande se déguste bien: tendre et coupée en tranches très fines.
Je n’ai pas trouvé la viande très salée comme ça a pu être évoqué précédemment.
Mais c’est cheeer pour la quantité. On a pas pour son argent ici.
— 12 € pour le Reuben: très petit, c’est plus un encas qu’un sandwich.
+ 4 € pour un cornet de frites, rien d’exceptionnel. Ça m’a un peu rempli l’estomac. Rien de plus…
+ 2.5 € la canette de coca.
= 18.5 € (Inutile de vous préciser que j’avais encore faim)
Même si vous payez une fortune pour cet échantillon de East-​Coast, il faut quand même se dépêcher pour libérer la table. Beaucoup de personnes se pressent dans la salle pour espérer avoir une place assise.
