This is a very good, inexpensive hotel. You get what you pay for, but it is comfortable and clean. The staff is very nice and very helpful. I stayed here with two of my girlfriends and we really enjoyed ourselves. It’s in a safer section of Montmartre and only a few blocks from the Sacré Cœur. The hotel is one block from the main drag and two blocks from Anvers station which will connect you to any arrondissement in Paris. I’m a bit biased because Montmartre is my favorite arrondissement. It’s very artsy and a bit seedy in parts(which I feel gives it character). The hotel is only three blocks from Crêperie Brocéliande, which happens to be my favorite restaurant in the world. I know that sounds out there, but it is truly the best meal I’ve ever had. I don’t understand why others feel that this hotel is below average, as our experience was a positive one and we’d definitely return and stay here if the opportunity presented itself once again.

Rooms are very small– our two twin beds were basically stuck together into one double bed because the room was so cramped. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, but wallpaper was stained, shower door kept falling off, and the building overall looked very old. The bathroom had a sewage odor coming from the pipes and there was a power outage one night during our stay which oddly only affected the rooms in our building but not the hallway or lobby. The light in the bathroom near the lobby did not work at all. The cleaning maids in the morning were incredibly loud… they talked and sang loudly, and because the door to the rooms was heavy, it made a loud slam every time they went in and out. There was no «do not disturb» sign, so the cleaning crew kept knocking and opening our room door while we were sleeping. We were quite jet-lagged and slept into the afternoon hours, however every single morning a maid would knock and come into our room. We say we don’t need the room cleaned, but half an hour later, another maid will barge in and ask the exact same thing. This happened a couple of times each morning, and also the receptionist would call us on the phone to ask us if we want our room cleaned. After saying no, another maid would knock on our door to clean our room. This was incredibly frustrating! Somehow they don’t communicate with one another, so it’s impossible to get any sleep when multiple maids are going into your room and the phone is ringing off the hook. They should at least carry walkie talkies, geez. Also, WIFI here is terribly slow and spotty. I went in knowing that this was a budget hotel, but at $ 100 a night, this is much worse than what I expect a hotel to be at this
