Good, simple French food at prices that are far below its neighbors on the island. My boeuf bourginon with ratatouille was only € 11! Berthillon ice cream is good and features in many of the desserts. Be aware that it’s cheaper if you get it from the take away window(which is typical in France). In sum, a perfect everyday place – no Michelin stars, but priced accordingly.

Pom’Cannelle is a very busy place in the heart of very beautiful and touristy Ile Saint-Louis. One of the two remaining natural islands of paris is located just behind Notre Dame and has only few narrow one way streets. Its streets are full of small shops and restaurants offering famous Berthillon ice cream. Though we are used to good ice cream in my home town Warsaw, it is worth trying one in Paris too. Pom’Cannelle is always very busy, small restaurant by one of the main streets of this island. Besides few other things it offers very good crepes(both sweet and sour) and Berthillon ice cream obviously. Accompanied by good cider you can really spend there some time. My favorite crepes are with ham, eggs and cheese or chocolate and fruits, but there are few more which look also quite good. Pom’Cannelle has very nice staff, always smiley and very responsive, despite the crowd wanting different things at the same time. And It is worth mentioning, as this is not always the case in Paris. But in general, it is getting better and better. No outside seating, as streets are very small, inside as usual very tight and packed. But hey, this is Paris, so no surprise. Even though I try to avoid main tourist attractions in Paris, I like to come back to Ile Saint-Louis enjoying even this crowd and vibrant heart of this beautiful city,

4.5 Despite claiming that Berthillon would be open until 8 pm(I dropped in at 7 on a Saturday), I found it closed. This would not do. Fatty needed ice cream. As I prepared my torch and pitchfork(be prepared; I am a former Boy Scout), I noticed PC next door. I saw a few people eating savory crepes but… what was this? Ice cream? Were people eating ice cream!!! It turns out that you can order Berthillon products at this sit down café. Am I right? I don’t know. I just decide to go with it. It’s not very large but that’s the point. Get in and get out and I was all in! Be prepared to put on your best French accent because there’s no English spoken here. Luckily, I am decent with my French and fluent in dessert. After reading the menu and rubbing my pregnant food belly, I knew that ice cream was out of the question. I needed something lighter, healthier… un coupe de deux parfums, s’il vous plait. Oh, what? Sorry. That’s French dessert for ‘I need sorbet in my life before I go all Honey Bunny and exe(ute every motherfu(k!ng last one of ya!’* Impressed by my mastery of language, I was rewarded with that which I had to have: dessert. I decided upon strawberry and green apple sorbets. Each sorbet was packed with pieces of fresh fruit and tasted of the fruit’s juices. This dessert was blindingly refreshing to eat, sated my sweet tooth and made me feel as though I was enjoying myself in a healthy way(‘look! fresh fruit. it’s healthy!’) rather than hiding with the shameful excesses of creamy sweet things. Pleased that my mirdle** wasn’t any the tighter after finishing, I drank my water, said ‘merci’ et ‘adieu’ and made my way into the night. *Learning is fun, no? ** Man girdle.

Excellentes glaces Berthillon, avec grand choix de parfums. Service très sympathique La cuisine de brasserie est très moyenne, mais cela dit, c’est maison et tout à fait correct au niveau tarif.

Plus un snack qu’un restaurant, si je me réfère à la sauce à salade industrielle et au fromage fondu orange. Les desserts sont bons, glaces Berthillon oblige, mais rien d’exceptionnel. Le service était en tout cas très sympathique.

une excellente adresse cuisine simple et de qualité et des glaces a tomber merci m Berthillon. Des plats traditionnel, crêpe, tarte salée ou salade avec ou sans blinis. Pour les vrai gourmand le pain perdu accompagné d’une glacé berthillon est une vrai tuerie.,

Diese Empfehlung bekamen wir bevor wir nach Paris reisten von unserer guten Freundin, die lange Zeit in Paris lebte: Das«Pom Cannelle» ist eines der unzähligen Bistros in Paris. Es liegt auf der Ile St. Louis, einen Steinwurf von Notre Dame entfernt. Dieses Bistrot ist recht klein und unscheinbar. Diesen Eindruck macht es aber durch den überaus schnellen und flinken Service wett. Zur Mittagszeit sind die wenigen Plätze nämlich alle(hauptsächlich von Einheimischen) besetzt. Es gibt: leckere Quiche, Crêpe — in verschiedensten frischen Variationen. Natürlich kann auch von der Tageskarte gewählt werden, die nicht minder schmackhaft ist. Zum Nachtisch wird sehr guter Kaffee und Tee serviert. Man sollte nicht versäumen, sich ein Stück der leckeren Kuchen zu gönnen(bspw.: Gâteau au chocolat mit warmer Vanillesauce) Oder ein leckeres Eis?
