Let me start by saying that I love seafood… all kinds and I eat it often. So this place was one of the worst that I’ve had. The food had no taste and was beyond bad. I mean how can you mess up steamed snow crab. It’s pretty easy to make I think. On top of that the waiters circle your table like buzzards and and won’t let you eat in peace

If you like bland, ridiculously dry, flavorless and expensive seafood then this is the spot for you. The presentation of the food is great, the taste, not so much. We paid $ 95 for the worst seafood we’ve ever had. I had the lobster mac and cheese, which at the first glance looks amazing. I’ve never had lobster mac where they bring it out along with the lobster shell, which was pretty cool. They’ll give you your money’s worth of lobster, but they use the most disgusting, cheap, and artificial cheese I have ever tasted in my life. It’s probably the equivalent to 99¢ store yellow powder cheese. I sincerely suggest using real cheese, and I do not mean Kraft yellow cheese, I mean REAL cheese, preferably white cheddar. Truly a disappointment to something that had so much potential. My husband ordered a pound of shrimp with the cravin crab mixture of spices/flavor with a side of sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. He got DRY shrimp with seasoning on the outer shell that you are supposed to PEEL before eating. They also give you a cup of melted butter which had zero flavor to it. It was like dipping your dry shrimp in lukewarm water. So he asked for a side of the seasoning that was on the dry outer shell, and added it to the flavorless butter and finally was able to eat it. He didn’t mention how the fries were, but I’ll tell you, he didn’t have more than one. I took a bite out of the corn on the cob and spit it out; not fully cooked and again, completely flavorless. This place is a true disappointment to perfectly good seafood who is in desperate need of good seasoning and basic cooking knowledge. Owners, please open a cook book, thank you.

Pretty much one of the tourist traps, like most everything is as located along the main drag in Charlotte Amalie. The specialty is of course as the name would imply, seafood, particularly crab. The downer for me was that everything I had was way overdone with the crab leg being dry and rubbery in texture. And, for what every reason, they seem to consider«mud bugs,» or more appropriately named crayfish, as being crab which they don’t hesitate heaping upon your plate. For the most part, nothing I had appeared to me to have really been fresh, local or from sources not previously frozen.

Got the $ 70 half SEAFOODCOMBO on the menu(variety of crustacean) — got too many crawfish, unfortunately the cheapest of all of the seafood. A little disappointed. The half lobster, and jumbo shrimp were probably the freshest one and juicy!

This place seems like a typical tourist trap on the main drag in Charlotte Amalie. We had the seafood platter for two. Everything was overcooked and they fill the plate up with nasty tasting crawfish. I just would not bother with this place.

Ordered the lobster and was not disappointed! It was a large portion, as shown in picture. Wife tried spaghetti, again, and was not impressed. She’s not a seafood eater, so pasta was the only option. They did not allow substitutions of any kind, so be prepared to take what the menu states, as far as sides are concerned. The service was awesome! We had a group of about 18 to 20 and they were on top of everything. Everyone’s food, came out very close together. Recommend for seafood, but not for other dishes. Seafood was a 5, and the pasta was about a 2 ½ to 3.

Lousy service, clam chowder taste as if it were out of a can and corn was undercooked. Lobster was ok, nothing special. Unfortunate for the other good reviews, will not be coming back.

My mom and I came here while on vacation. It was excellent! We shared the Seafood Half Platter(or something along those lines) «for 1−2» for $ 70… It was excellent! Lobster, snow crab, king crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, and crawfish. We chose their house seasoning. Even between the 2 of us eating a lot, we still had a substantial serving leftover to take home. It also comes with 2 sides– we had veggies and sweet potato fries, both of which were great! It was a belated birthday celebration for me, and the servers sang happy birthday and brought me a little ice cream dish with a candle. We would come back and have already recommended it to others!

What a great place. The sea food assortment for two was amazing. My daughter wanted the kids chicken Alfredo and she finished the whole bowl. We all highly recommend the purple sweet potato desert.

What a fun place! Came here with a group of 7 and we ordered 2 of the platters that served 3 – 4 people each… This was so much food! I especially liked the lobster and the crab legs but it was awesome to get to try a bit of everything. It was a tad on the pricey side but we also got bottles of wine which made it around $ 55 per person including tip. I would recommend for special occasions and group outings. The service was great.

Surprisingly, there aren’t many seafood restaurants on this island so I wanted to try Cravin Crabs. The soup of the day was crab bisque and it was delicious. The service was also pretty good. I was disappointed with the crab legs. The crab meat was dry and is the reason for my 3 stars. I will try this restaurant again but order something else.

My husband and I were visiting VI for vacation and was craving some good seafood. We got the half size seafood platter meant for 2 for $ 70 and dear lord, it was quite the size. It was 1lb each of mussels, clams, shrimp and crawfish. Plus half of a lobster and I lost count on the crab legs. There were two types of crabs: Alaskan king crab and snow crabs. It also came with two sides which we did french fries and corn on the cob(only one corn). We ordered it with their cravin’ crabs spice which… Is non descript and you can barely taste it. But what I did taste, seems like it’s a mixture of spices. Being asian, I did not go for the butter oil that came with the seafood. Instead, I asked for soy sauce and vinegar which came out with green onions mixed in. Mixed the two and it was a delicious sauce. They only sell bottle water so despite asking for hot water(they will not boil the water for you) or just tap water, they will insist on selling you the $ 3 bottled water. However, focusing on the food, this place makes it to 4 stars(3.5 stars if I could have given half stars).

If you are looking for a good seafood dinner then you won’t be disappointed. The food is quite good and the portions are good as well. The 3 crab combo has Dungeness crab, snow crab and king crab with 2 sides. Plenty of food for a hungry person. Or do like we did and order a ribeye and share it all. The steak was good and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. Okay so I used good a lot for a reason. You are on a tropical island and the view is of Wendy’s so don’t expect to be wowed with the ambiance. We dine out quite a bit and for $ 95 with only one coke, we thought there are a ton of other places with killer views that our $ 95 could have afforded. For us we want great at $ 95 and it was only good.

Went to Cravin Crab tonight for my birthday and i just recently moved to the island. So kept driving bye and told my hubby this is where i wanted to eat for my birthday. Great service the Chilean Seabass was amazing as was the stuffed mushroom with crab meet. The grilled salmon was delicious as well. My hubby ordered the ribeye??? Really i tried to talk him out of it because its a seafood joint not a steakhouse. Needless to say his ribeye was overcooked. But it was good just welldone not medium. So all of the seafood items we ordered were amazing and that is why im sticking to my 5 stars. Go check it out its worth every penny they charge.

My bf and I came to Cravin Crabs after seeing their great reviews. You can’t beat the service here(MJ is awesome!) and the prices are very reasonable! We shared the half seafood combo(which came with snow crab, king crab, dungeness crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, and crawfish) and it was plenty of food for us! I’d recommend this place for both locals and visitors :)

Awesome seafood place. Not a fancy place, but a comfortable kick back place– perfect for you to dig into those huge plates of seafood and cover yourself in it’s juice! We ordered the ½ seafood plate which was recommended for 2 people. I ate myself sick and we still had left overs. My boyfriend is a human waste can when it comes to seafood, theres no end to that stomach of his. The service is wonderful, everyone is very friendly and so sweet. Shawn was our server for our second visit and he’s great! highly recommended you visit this place when visiting the island. I’d give anything to escape this snow storm up here in PA and be down there eating seafood and frozen drinks on the beach…
