Really good. Will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend this place to grab breakfast. Reasonably priced, quick service and friendly staff. And the coffee is very good too.

Went here yesterday. It was exactly what I was after. Great food. Great staff. Table out back in the sun. And VERYVERY reasonably priced. € 5.50 for a breakfast wrap(delicious & a good size) including a big coffee. Good coffee too. Even got rescued from a spider by a fellow punter. It was my first visit. Won’t be my last.

The staffs are always friendly and services always fast The sandwiches are huge on doorstep bread and you will always be full after these giant sandwiches. My favourite sandwich has to be big club if I’m really hungry Big club is a giant sandwich made up of BLT with chicken The one thing I don’t like about the place is the sausages The only way I can describe the sausage is that they looks very similar to McDonald’s sausage in that the sausage is flat like a burger The sausages are not to my taste at all and I’m shock they don’t sell normal Irish sausage However in fairness I know of other people who think the sausage are the best thing in news café. Overall great place to get lunch I will give it 5 stars

Stopped here this morning from a Unilocal recommendation(we aren’t locals). Was not sure what to expect at all so went in with an open mind. Its very much in the setting of an old fashioned greasy spoon, so the expectation was duly adjusted. The staff were very friendly(I mean that sincerely as its not as common as you expect), i ordered off the menu and was advised accordingly. I had asked for two sausages but the waitress subtely pointed to my neighbours food and said if you were never here before, thats what the sausages are like. So I revised my order to one sausage and scramby egg with brown bread with an Americano to drink. The coffee was v impressive with that lovely dark froth across the top showing quality. The breakfast arrived shortly afterwards. Precisely what we ordered, no frills or fuss. Nicely priced food, nice staff, good coffee in non-pretentious surrounds. Top marks from me.

Super friendly café. Great coffee and a relaxed atmosphere. They specialize in breakfast sandwiches with eggs, crispy bacon and a patty style sausage. Breads are either rolls or toasted homemade bread. A hearty start to the day.

Good take away lunch with the option to text in your order which is a great idea if you’re working nearby! The sandwiches are good but not as good as the spoon down the road! The interior needs a revamp though :)

Best breakfast rolls/sambos, using crispy sausage meat instead of sausages. You will not be disappointed.

The News Café is notorious for it’s heart stoppingly giant breakfasts. I know of nowhere else you can get about eight sausages, two eggs and a load of rashers sandwiched into three slices of French toast. I’ve never come across a sandwich that not only fills you up but can only be finished in a marathon effort of grit determination. If you’re not concerned with trivial matters like heart disease this is really the most impressive breakfast around. I mean this is a quote from the menu ‘You’d better be hungry it’s a BLT on top of a hot chicken’ — priceless! The News Café is a little off the beaten track for most, but well worth the trip for the friendly reception, hale and hearty portions and good atmosphere.

One morning i came here for a breakfast roll. It was nice… it nearly gave me a heart attack, but when your looking for a good breakfast roll thats the kind of thing you hope to get. Its small, and not the place you would stay in for long. Does lots of business from the local offices. Nice place. not the Ritz though

I stopped in here for a quick cup of tea and the man at the counter obligingly only charged me 1 euro because he told me that he couldn’t in good conscious charge me more than that for a cup of black tea. That means that that has to be the cheapest cuppa I’ve had in a long time. They seemed to be doing a roaring lunch trade with made to order sambos that I have to say looked quite delicious. Must make a note to head back there for lunch some day. They also offer a two for one special on takeaway coffees.

If you’re a fan of breakfast, you’re a fan of the News Café. Love doesn’t get much more basic than this. Tasty food, nice staff and(vital first cranky thing in the morning) quick service.
