I regretted eating here the second the food was put in front of me. I waited ages after ordering and paying only to be served a cold burger, onion rings and chips. Inedible stuff. Best avoided.

Before I had been to Bunsen or any of the other cool burger places that have opened in Dublin in the past while I got a burger here. Until I went to Bunsen, this was my favourite burger in Dublin. I got my first SoMa burger soon after getting back from New York where I had developed and addiction to Shake Shack burgers. This place was the closest thing I had had to them in Ireland. Their burger patties are pounded fresh every day. Their sauces are all original and their own. The burgers are all really tasty; I normally go for the bacon and cheese burger which has yet to let me down. One thing that I always thought stood out for them is that their buns are really tasty. What ever brioche they use really goes well with the cheese, meats and relish; remarkably so. Perfect buttery brioche taste. Their fries are unreal too. Thin cut crispy yokes. You can get them with rosemary, chili or cajun salt(or even plain if you feel like living dangerously). I have yet to try the chicken but it looks really damn good. The only bad thing about the place is that it is in a food court. It can be kind of loud and hard to find a table. The seats near by are all usually taken up by screaming kids with happy meals from McDonalds while their exasperated parents sit and stare into space. I would go here more often if they would open a proper restaurant with proper seating.

Over all a good burger, the spicy chips were a nice touch, I would definitely return.

Hmm this is difficult to rate for a few reasons: 1. It’s a shopping centre food court — standards are never gonna be that high 2. I didn’t get a beef burger, I got a portobello mushroom version instead 3. I got the salad version of that I basically did the equivalent of getting a salad in Mc Donald’s which essentially gives me zero right to give out about anything. So I will just say this — the poor little mushroom was all shrivelled up to half it’s size and it was deep fried then covered with buckets of honey mustard dressing. On the other hand, the burgers the lads next to me were eating looked whopper, and the fries looked like proper potato with skins on. So don’t make my silly mistake, get a burger for feck sake!
