Vue

My local cinema! It’s had a few name changes over the years and now is currently in a new location. The location may only be 50 feet from the orginal one but none the less it’s new.
We have some decent sized screens here which is a big plus along with the getting your ticket and food in the same line being way more convenient than other cinemas.
The down sides to Vue are the prices compared to others, and now an added issue of being able to hear other movies playing at any stage when your movie is quite. An issue that needs fixing.
All and all it does the job at the end of the day!

New cinema looks terrible. step backwards ruined the place. also had to keep coat on the whole film cinema freezing

Such a horrible experience here for a 2:15 showing of the hunger games. The staff are just very slow and the place is so messy.
The film itself was fine but having to queue 20 minutes to just get tickets and popcorn is a bit much!
Seriously though, the staff have no pride in any customer service. I’ve rarely seen staff quite that bad!

I returned to vue to watch the new james bond film (load of shit) the cinema is newly built very spacious entrance. looks like a lot of money was put into the remodelling
The seated area is very small if large crowds turned up they wouldn’t be able to accommodate them The sweet selection is the same as the old building just looks moved around
When you give your ticket to the staff you go into a newly and very well built hall very nice and puts you in the mood to watch a film very well done i think there is 15 movie screens new seats there is new red seats i don’t know why but you’ll be charged more to sit in the nice red seats like there special or something each screen hall is new very clean and well done. Those old shitty curtains that were on the wall are gone
The price is still the same to high the biggest problem with this new updated version is the staff they are so young if any are older than 20 I’d be surprised hiring young people is great and all but there is always problems with hiring young staff they lack the knowledge and work ethic of mature people would have and it shows in this place the blokes had more interest in the tight ass of there 20 year old female workers
By five o clock the place was dirty popcorn was on the floors the toilets where disgusting the staff was talking about which nightclub they were going to later the disabled toilets were not in use customers were sent away
I give this place a year before it is as dirty as the old building

New renovations to Vue cinema look nice and give that cosy affect, picture qaulity is very good too! However the new leather seats are very uncomfortable and feels like your sitting on a park bench watching the movie.

Was a fan of this venue for movies but it is a little run down at the moment. It is undergoing some. heavy construction at the moment so I’m sure it will get a little more attention to the screens. They should have butter for their popcorn… Another cinema wins my food vote!!!

I do quite like this cinema — the popcorn here is by far the best popcorn of any cinema I’ve ever been in, AND they have a Ben & Jerry’s counter, I know what you’re thinking «so why just 3 stars».
Firstly to say that the price of going to the cinema here is extortionate — we got € 70 vouchers for a gift & came away with € 20 having seen 1 film, got 1 popcorn & drink to share & 2 pic & mix bags (which weren’t excessively full/​heavy).
Also to say the place is FILTY is the understatement of the century. I foolishly wore flip flops one lovely summers day & was blessed to come out with both shoes. I did actually see one person lose a shoe to the sticky floor — no seriously she had to stop walking & pick up her shoe that was stuck to the floor because she literally couldn’t lift her foot. & the toilets stink of pee!

Undergoing some refurbishment currently which is needed especially with the proliferation of UCI I SENSE screens.
They sell wine, beer and the usual sugar coma inducing enticements. Tickets are priced at the higher end but I generally find seats more comfortable and more room. They have discounts on a Tuesday.

Love this cinema, Vue in Liffey Valey is a local one for us as we live in Citywest.
Well i never pay for cinema hehe, but I know it’s an affordable one, they have special price when you buy your tickets and snacks, I always get me popcorn :)
Enjoyed Entourage and had such a great laugh, I’ve seen all the previous series and got really excited when heard that the new movie due to be released, was looking forward to it so much and was definitely worth a watch!

Good food deals and location. Always has new releases. Very dirty with a sticky carpet though and ticket prices are expensive. € 13 for one ticket.

I dont no why everyone gave this such good reviews! Its the dearest cinema in Dublin and its scruffy dirty anytime ive been there. The staff are rude and the seats are uncomfy. The popcorn is always stale. Only thing i like is the hot nacho cheese they have :). me and my boyfriend came here and for two tickets and a popcorn combo just about 40euro it came to!!! In tallaght or dundrum theres a ten euro deal for a ticket and popcorn combo! And they also serve warm butter on the popcorn. I never go to vue anymore steer clear!

Upsides:
— They serve wine! And beer!
— And you can pay for your tickets while you pay for your food, so no double queuing.
— And they have little concession stands inside the screens when you walk in if you don’t want to queue for food outside.
Downsides:
— It’s a big horrible chain
— It’s really expensive
So, there you have it, simples really!

oh Vue Vue Vue, why have I not reviewed before… probably because you leave me underwhelmed. A multiplex without the giantosity (shut up — its a word if I say it is!) of IMAX like Cineworld, but without the soul of a smaller cinema like the Light House. Its fine… there’s always a queue, the snacks are expensive… but sure its grand.

Ridiculously overpriced.
6.10 for a bottle of bulmers is shocking. Then you have to add popcorn and ticket prices to that.
I think you are better off waiting for the DVD to come out and watch it at home.

Conveniently located at Liffey Valley, great for a day of shopping and then a movie. With the option to pre-​book seating, it’s extremely handy in case you’re running late. They have multiple theaters within the cinema and extra comfy seats. You can treat yourself to some Ben and Jerry’s, Pick-​A-​Mix or any other goodies.

I would give this no stars if I could. Really really bad customer service. I won vouchers for this cinema and even though it’s out of my way I wanted to use them.
I checked the website for terms and conditions and saw that if a movie is what they call ‘FLS’ it means u can’t use a voucher to get a ticket. That was fine. Checked the movie listing and it wasn’t listed as ‘FLS’ but I was still worried I might get there and it’d b sold out so I looked for a phone number on the website, there was two, neither of which were free-​phone and cost well above average. But still I wanted to make sure I wasn’t wasting the time or petrol so I rang both and only got recordings. The recording listed the movie but never said it was ‘FLS’. Since the cinema is almost a half hour drive away I checked again to make sure the movie wasn’t listed as FLS on the website. It wasn’t.
I drive to the cinema to b told the movie is FLS. I ask for the manager and a very young man arrives with a large, intimidating man behind him who proceeds to glare at me through our whole conversation. Presumably he was security.
The manager then tells me that the only way for me to find out if a movie is FLS is to come to the cinema to check the poster on the wall. Not the website, not any of the apps that list Vue times, not the automated phone booking line and not even the screens above the ticket counter. Only the one poster on the cinema premises.
I explain how ridiculous that is and that the info should b on the website and he tells me he’s never even seen the website! He also tells me he has no idea what is said on the pre recorded booking line. He also doesn’t seem to care that I just wasted almost an hour of driving and the petrol that took.
By the end of our conversation Mr Muscle behind him has moved in closer, taken an even more aggressive stance and is now scowling at me like a bull chewing a wasp. Obviously trying to intimidating me to end the conversation and leave.
So basically they wasted my time and money, were completely unapologetic about it and seem to think that intimidation is a good customer service tactic.

Vue cinema is still one of the best cinemas I’ve been to (aside from Cineworld), and given that it’s easy for me to get to (just off M50) plus free parking, it’s a no-​brainer. Booking tickets online and being able to choose your own seats is a nice bonus. Well, it gets better, it’s well worth going for their VIP seats.
Even if you didn’t book online, you can still pick your seats via their ticket machines (if you don’t feel like queuing).
If you haven’t been, it’s worth a trip out, get some shopping done in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, have a bite to eat and watch a film.

«Ticket rippers» don’t need to seem interested for their 8.65 an hour. They do just fine.
Really great place. Well maintained, great design, and a half decent selection of food. Only problem is that they charge 3.50 for a bottle of River Rock. Seems a bit mean.

The Big Fella screen is aptly named in this cinema, its ginormous! there is something brilliant about seeing a film you really enjoy on a massive screen.
Otherwise this cinema is fairly standard, well standard for newer cinemas anyway!
the one advantage this place has over dundrum is the prices, you can go VIP in here for just a euro more than a normal ticket, in dundrum its way more than that!
the only bad thing is how far away it is from me and from lots of people in dublin i suppose, Liffey valley really is way ou on its own!

Made a trip out to Dublin’s scenic westside today and a trip to the gigantoplex that is Vue cinemas, formerly Ster Century, formerly the cinema in Liffey Valley aka its so far away. Probably the best cinema outside the city centre, yes its a good bit out but if you do live this side of city then you probably already know how good it is.
With 14 screens and what must be a million seats, the place is huge, pretty cavernous but most of the screens are a generous size and the biggest screen would give Savoy 1 a run for its money. The movie I saw wasn’t great but thats a whole other days reviewing. At € 8.20 for a daytime show and no parking charges I was impressed.
The usual overpriced popcorn, Ben and Jerry’s and Haagen Daaz are availble as well as plenty of teeth rottingly good pick n mix. Or you could just be mean and go round the shop down the street, crème eggs 2 for a euro, yea there well out of date but still so good! Oh yes I’m taking the recession on head first.
