What a gem! This place was amazing! You need to eat here! We had the hake and pork belly/scallop mains. So good! We found this restaurant from the recommendation of our B&B host. The portions were big and everything was perfectly cooked! Mmmmm

We are not often writers of reviews, but our whole family(and we are from San Francisco where food is very serious business.) thought this by far the best of many excellent meals we had in Ireland. Thank you to the owners and staff who made it so memorable.

I had the cod and my wife had the scallops with pork belly. AMAZING. Also, the oysters were super fresh as well. Highly recommend!

Above average restaurant. Don’t be in a rush the service is pretty slow but not in a uncaring way. We had the shrimp appetizer and the goat cheese appetizer. They were very good! We split the filet, med rare, very good quality meat and cooked perfectly. I had an allergic reaction to the cushion we sat on, in the window seat, which was really odd. We rushed back to our hotel for allergy meds and inhaler, otherwise we would have stayed and enjoyed the very comfortable atmosphere longer.

The food was fantastic and the service was great. The seafood chowder is the best and cooked to order. The fish fry was fresh and delicious. Servers were friendly and attentive. We also stayed in their guest accommodations above the restaurant and had an enjoyable stay.

Our B&B recommended Ashes for their«early bird» dinner special, which although much less expensive we sadly just missed(ends at 7pm). Instead, we arrived and waited 20 – 30 minutes for water, and additional time for good but overpriced food. We ordered the seafood chowder and goat cheese platter, both of which were very tasty. Overall, it was about $ 25 – 35 per person for a main course, so if you are looking for great service and value, this is not the place. By the time we got our food, check, and left, we both felt sour about our experience and wished we had tried another spot.

One of the best meals I have had this year! I stumbled across Ashes during my trip to Dingle this weekend and am so happy we chose to dine here for our final night! The food is incredibly fresh and the staff are great Craic! I opted for the early bird of 2 course, a bit of a bargain for 24 quid! To start, I went for prawns pil pil. I kind of consider myself a pil pil pro so I just HAD to try them! They were fabulous! Fresh, not too garlicy, and came with some bread(perfect for some dipping action). My main was fresh hake with an almond pesto sauce, and can honestly say it was one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had! Coming from Howth, that means a lot! It came with fresh veg and salad! Delish! As for himself, he went for the lobster! They let you choose your own out of the tank which is pretty cool! But for € 30 per 500g, they aren’t cheap! It came with AMAZING home cut chips(like the ones your granny would make) and salad! It was his first time eating lobster and thought«it wasn’t as nice a chicken»! As lobsters go though, it was good. If your looking for fresh local food in dingle, this is the place to go!

Great find in Dingle for good food. Came here with 2 friends without a booking and weren’t waiting long for a table, couldn’t fault the service, they were eager to accommodate for a gluten-free vegetarian meal. I had a butternut squash rice-flour ravioli and the other two had the hake dish. For dessert we split gluten-free orange and almond cake which was beautifully presented and sufficient for the three of us. We left feeling very satisfied and impressed. The only minor drawback was the price, in total we paid € 120 incl tip for 3 mains, 1 dessert, 2 caraffes of wine and 3 espressos, but over all would definitely recommend it and return there!

Wow. I had an amazing piece of Hake(fish), prepared in an Asian style, tonight at the bar. I do not give out five stars lightly, but this was excellent.

Yummy. And, very friendly. After the snobby way we were treated at Out of the Blue, this redeemed our faith in Dingle.

Stumbled upon Ashe’s Bar whilst in Dingle for a weekend with friends. It has a real authentic feel opposed to the many tourist traps than line the streets. We were looking for an easy going relaxed atmosphere with good food with a quick turnaround and that is exactly what we got! Really nice setting to eat. The early bird menu was fantastic value as was the wine list. The fish and chips really was incredibly and seemed like a fan favorite judging from the fellow diners. I have on good authority that the seafood chowder was excellent from my pals & the Prawns with Chili & Garlic to start were really good. The offer of extra free bread is always a big plus in my book too. The best part of this dining experience was the staff. The gent at front of house whom I believe was the manager was really nice and helpful. He recommended bars and stuff happening in the town for the weekend. The servers were great too. Many of my reviews will ultimately come down to the quality, quantity and customer service — and Ashe’s delivered on all 3 counts here. I will most certainly be back.

After disappointing service elsewhere, this was an amazing find in Dingle. Great hake. Light fish and chips. Amazing desserts. Cool early bird special even for the young. Perfect before moving on for live music.

A family run pub in the heart of Dingle serving the best seafood chowder in town. Frienfdly staff, great location and good food make it the perfect stop for lunch or dinner. Just down the street from the St. James Church summer trad music concerts for an early pre-concert supper.

Great pub /restaurant in Dingle. The seafood chowder was exquisite, probably the best I have had in a very long time. The oysters were fresh and well presented and I was a very happy man :-)) Guinness was also excellent. Happily come back here anytime for a feed and drink ;-))

Out of the many pubs to choose from in Dingle, this is one of the few that seems authentic in this tourist town. They serve up better than average pub grub at reasonable prices. Only downer is that we waited FOREVER for our food. Servers tried to make up for it though with apologies and attentiveness.
