Great place with music. Fast service. Good food with huge portions. We ordered burgers with bacon 13.95 € and pints of guiness € 4.20 each. Good food but nothing out of the ordinary

We stopped here on our way to visit the Cliffs of Moher and we fell in love. When I picture the Irish countryside and being in a small«village» this pub was exactly what I imagined. The food was amazing and the price was even better. We sampled a few different things, because when were we going to be back? The wait staff was so great and because we were with a large group they were expecting us. They knew we were on a time limit due to our tour bus and the made sure to give us plenty of time to enjoy the food and scenery! We ordered Bangers & Mash, Traditional Guiness Stew, and Seafood Chowder – all accompanied with Soda Bread to soak up the goodness. If you use The Galway Tour Company, you will get this experience!

A great place to stop if you’re near the Cliffs of Moher or plan on visiting them. The seafood chowder was fresh and amazing. The goat cheese tart was also very good. Service is very fast and efficient.

I can’t say amazing enough. Get the salmon and get the chowder(see my photos). The salmon was only 2 days old an not frozen and I’ve never had better in my life.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to the cliffs of Moher. It is a cute pub with a small but delicious menu and some daily specials written on the wall. You order at the bar and then they serve it to you at your table. I got the seafood chowder and a ham cheese and tomato sandwich combo for 10 euros. The soup was delicious and extremely filling. And the sandwich was cut in small triangles that were perfect for dipping into the soup. Really loved this place and the atmosphere. And for the price it was a great deal.

This pub was a stop along the way on our tour to The Cliffs of Moher. The atmosphere was exactly what you would think a Irish pub would be! They do get very busy at times as a lot of tour buses stop here, however they have a great system to get people in and out fast. You go in and grab a table which has a number on it. Then go up to the counter, give them your table number, and order your food. The food comes out so fast and it’s good, hot food! My husband and I both ordered the Guinness beef stew! It was served with mashed potatoes and Irish brown bread. Soooooooooooo good! It was loaded with the most tender beef that melted in your mouth and tons of veggies! Such a treat!

Generally liked it here when we stopped by with a tour going to the Cliffs of Moher in September 15′. It’s hard to believe this establishment has been in business for almost two-hundred years. They don’t take CC’s unless you spend a certain amount, so be prepared to use cash. Also, you have to pay when you order, which is a little weird but whatever. The food, itself, was okay. The bread and butter were delicious. My Irish stew was so-so. The meat was kinda tough, but the broth and veggies were good. Also, the liquor was not that expensive; I think I got a double Jameson for like 5 Euro. Would visit again and order something else.

Went on a tour to the Cliffs of Moher and the bus stopped here for lunch. Very nice pub and very efficient at serving a bus full of people. I got a Pint of Guiness of course while waiting for my grub. Guinness is excellent with everything and this point was no exception. Cold and Refreshing! The Beef and Guinness Stew was excellent with tender lean beef and vegetables. Excellent choice on a cold rainy day, real comfort food to warm your soul. I would definitely get this again. The brown bread was dry and thick. Not my favorite, but went well with the stew. Excellent choice for lunch, would love to go back.

What a cool place! We were looking for a local pub that offered music. We arrived around 5:30 and enjoyed a few Paddys on the rocks. The music began with 4 men with various instruments. After enjoying a healthy serving of mussels, my husband and I turned around and then there were 6 musicians just hanging in a booth playing beautiful music! The locals were so friendly and we hung out for a while. Love that everyone is welcome… Kids, families guys and chicks! A wonderful evening! The service was excellent!

What a great time we had at OConners pub. The food was not ordinary pub food. The music was live and traditional. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone!!!

We were torn on this pub. We really wanted to like it. The seafood chowder was really good however the mains came out unusually fast. We didn’t like the set up of having to pay for drinks and food upfront. If you wanted you could leave your credit card with them for a tab but just seemed a bit strange. Anyways I think it’s a bit over hyped however being 1 of the 3 pubs it was overall pretty good.

Dinner was so-so, but quite expensive given the mediocre quality. We started with seafood chowder, which was only average. The chowder with sort of thick and pasty, underseasoned, with chunks of fish a few of which still had their skin on. Our burgers were exceedingly dry, and small, with a huge oversized bun. For 13 Euro, I think I was expecting better.

A pub since 1832. That really means something! We were sent here by friends who loved Gus O’Connor’s Pub. The food was great. Maybe the best chicken tenders ever? Beer was good too. Order and pay at the counter and they bring your order to you. Service was friendly.

I cannot get over how charming this place is! My friend and I came here the other night on a suggestion from our B&B host. We are so glad we did. After getting our drinks, we went to sit down. Immediately after sitting, we were invited into a group of lively fun people in the next room. They welcomed us and we all joined in conversation and singing! Shortly following, a group of people came into the room with various instruments and began to play some of the most entertaining Irish music I’ve ever heard. My friend and I had the best time chatting with people, making new friends and enjoying good beer!

Fastest. Service. Ever. It’s like fast food but in a pub. I highly recommend the seafood chowder with brown bread it’s amazing. And my friend ordered the bangers and mash which she said was pretty good as well. I also got the Irish coffee and I am SO happy I tried Irish coffee at this place for the first time. It was just so good! I also think the price is good for what you get, not too expensive for how good the food is.

O’Connor’s I believe is supposed to be the oldest pub in Doolin. It’s a great venue — pretty large so it accommodates a good number of people. It’s very touristy since it’s so close to the Doolin Pier where many people board ferries to visit the Aran Islands. But staff here is friendly and they’re more organized than they let on! The portions here are HUGE for the price but I wouldn’t say it was one of the best meals I had in Ireland. It’s a great place to get full for a good value and to listen to some live music. They also have a great selection of draft beers, but then again which bars don’t in Ireland? I’d definitely come back to check it out at night. During the day it’s packed with people, seemingly mostly tourists, but they remain as unfazed and dedicated to their jobs as ever. Definitely worth a visit!

So O’Connor’s is the pub that is most famous or at least most talked about in Doolin. It was a pretty long walk from our B&B but this is definitely a walking town so we did it without a problem. When you walk up there’s a door to your right and to your left. I went to the right and it opens up into the main room with the bar and the area where the musicians are, plus some nooks and crannies here and there.(If you go to the left it is the other side of the bar and the room actually circles around to the main one. But that room over there is quieter so sit there if you don’t like the loud music, singalongs, and fun.) You grab a table and get a menu. When you have decided what you want to eat and drink, you go to the bar to order all of it and then give them your table number. I am a lazy American and I prefer service, but it wasn’t too bad and honestly probably more efficient for the pub itself. Someone then brings your food to you. You carry your own drinks to your table. The crowd did have some locals singing along to the traditional songs… plus some of them were getting up and singing. They were taking it verrrry seriously though. And of course there were tons of tourists. We sat beside Irish people, American people, Dutch people, and Italian people. The Dutch people got to be delighted(or horrified?) at me speaking my limited amount of Dutch and asked me «Where are all the Irish people? We have only met Americans.» haha The Italians didn’t speak much English so I helped them by telling them the process to order food/drinks. Very international thing going on in our corner. I think this pub had the potential to get really fun and rowdy as the night went on and I really do like that. So definitely give this place a try when you are in Doolin.

A surprisingly outstanding pub. Full of ambiance-tastic traditional music, delicious food(the chowder especially) and with prices that are surprisingly cheap for such a tourist-filled area. There’s a ton of different nooks and corners to hang out, and odds are at day’s end the whole pub will be filled to the brim with locals and tourists alike.

A great pub down Fisherstreet in Doolin that brings in nightly traditional session musicians to regale the monstrous post-Cliffs of Moher crowds. You can pretty much bet that O’Connors will be packed with tourists, which has its pluses and minuses. On the downside, it’s not really a place you’ll go to shoot the shit with the locals and have some authentic craic. On the other hand, the local musicians are ALWAYS fabulous and the crowds can be downright euphoric, because who isn’t happy when they’re on vacation?! Although the scene can be a little gimmicky and forced, with renditions of «Dirty Old Town» and«Wild Rover» not uncommonly belted in sing-along fashion, the traditional music at this pub has always impressed me and I’ve found the musicians themselves to be quite welcoming to outsiders. The food here is a solid 3.5 stars. Chowder when we last went was a winner. The stew and fish & chips are quality as well. The prices are certainly higher than in other places in County Clare, but for Doolin it’s reasonable. Pints of Guinness are delicious and the staff are always friendly and efficient. Beware the hoards of tourbuses that congregate on this area during the day. It really can turn into a madhouse when a few of them pull up. My advice is to stay in Doolin and to walk down the road for a pint, a pie and a bit music at O’Connors. This is the best way to enjoy it – without the rush of a tour bus and the hassle of a herded crowd. The music starts at 9:30. Get there by 9 to secure a good seat.
