It’s handy to get any art equipment here but their customer service is dreadful! I’ve never been in a place that I felt so unwelcome in! Their printing services are good but the cheek you get from staff if you don’t prepared in a certain way. They will ask you to leave the store and prepare the file in a certain way so they don’t have to waste time dealing with you! There is only one guy in there that is lovely to deal with(has a long beard and plugs in his ears) but otherwise wouldn’t recommend the visit

Fantastic location in terms of NCAD, this place is truly a life saver. They have a great range of art and design materials and they also do printing, which is ideal on deadline days especially in the bad weather, it’s not too far to pop in, get your printing done and pick up a few lovely new pens or a good quality notebook for a reasonable price. They don’t offer a student discount as they say their prices are already as low as they can be. The staff are generally lovely and are mostly happy to answer any question or queries about their products.

First impression of A4art is that they’re so friendly in here! It can be a bit daunting because of how quiet it is; I was the only one there and for some reason being in a quiet shop makes me feel all the more rushed while shopping. But I had my headphones on so I was happily perusing their selections. There’s an array of beautiful markers, pens, spray paints, brushes and cavasses here! I spotted a few skin-toned marker sets as well as black and white hues – for those who love to people watch and sketch or just sketch in general. Not only do you have a myriad of colors to choose from, but you can also have your pick at the tip – there were pointed, rounded, chisel– and fine-tipped, and brush markers from what I could tell. A4art seems to have a large selection of the Uni and Pentel brands – it’s the most I’ve seen in any of the other art shops around Dublin! So if you’re into art, make art, or do art, I’d recommend taking a detour and checking this place out.

A4 art? more like A1 art. As a recent graduate from the prestigious ort college; NCAD, on Thomas Street, I’m a regular at the a4 club. Usually I’m just picking up a few sheets of tracing paper or a tube of glitter from time to time, but these bastards have it all. From crayola to prick stick, from masking tape to scotch tape. Yes, A4 is your one stop shop for finger fun. Once you enter their doors at half 9am, The aroma of freshly paired pencils and wet paint blurs the eyes with ecstasy. Although it would be possible to pop in and out like a one night stand and leave with everything you came for, feeling no guilt and only temporary love blemishes, the joyful conversation emitted by the exuberant staff members melts time and diminishes the knowledge that you are in an art supply shop. Maighread, innocently blushes at me from behind the Daler Rowney’s while the boys smirk and slide discounted rubbers into my bag of goodies. Together they make Evan’s art shop look like a graveyard of broken pencils. If we walk on through to the back, next to the photocopying machines, there are more relics of impeccable art student sustenance. A regularly updated wall of comical jokes printed off and prick sticked to the wall. The anarchy of prick sticking jokes to the wall purely for smiles shows that there is no tyrant running this shop, this is an honest art supply collective where we are all equal. These comic print offs are landmarks messages of equality against those who seek power over the love of humanity. Last year, I bought a terabyte external hardrive from A4’ for only 99euro. It is now a year later, and I have enough porn saved to last three years, 24hours a day, 7days a week, fap fap fuckin fap, and still I have tons of gigglybytes to spare. And now they bring out a new deal; «spend fiddy quid on art shit, and get a fuckin 8gigglybit USB for FREE». Need I say more? naa… just get in there quick, and try not to trip’ balls B-/

I’m loving the look of A4’s new digs! Once confined to that tiny dark box at 113 Thomas St, A4 grew up in a big way when they opened a brand new location just down the road. Closer to NCAD and with a breathe-deep wide open shop, this is the best bet for art students and supply seekers to get their mounting glue, portfolio pages and more. The prices haven’t changed and the hours are still up in the air, but once this shop is comfortably settled, it’ll be an even better incarnation of the creature it once was.

A4 is a teeny little art supply shop on Thomas St, just down the road from the National College of Art and Design. The selection of art supplies isn’t what you would typically find in a traditional art store. There are lots of sketchbooks, notebook and other paper products, markers, pens and pencils, and drafting materials, but not a whole lot of paints and brushes. This is perhaps due to the shop’s proximity to the NCAD, where design, art education and visual culture are all a large part of the curriculum in addition to fine art. One very helpful feature for designers is the shops printing services. With different sizes and papers to help you create a stunning finished product, the possibilities are endless. The staff was really helpful and keen to answer my questions, even though I didn’t buy anything. Gotta love that. A little drawback in my opinion is the store’s hours. With the shop closed on Saturday and Sunday, there’s no possibility to get the supplies you need to get that project finished before class on Monday.
