Super friendly and helpful — the tabbouleh was delicious and the pita was soft and chewy! Yum!

Went here Sunday night with a friend, and although it was busy, we were seated straight away. Tried an Egyptian speciality of the house that I’d never heard of before(it’s a little like a middle eastern version of cannelloni, but nicer!). Took a little long for our meals to come but really not too bad, and it was so worth the wait. One of the nicest dishes I’ve had this year, and my friend and I split our two side dishes — salad and spicy potatoes — which was a lovely balance to the creaminess of the main, and just the right amount of food. I’m a bit shocked at the previous reviews about service as my experience couldn’t have been more different: our waitress was friendly and genuine and really made the evening a pleasant one at the end of a long, tiring day. Seating is a little snug — we were 2 at a table for 4, back to back with another 4, and if both tables had been full it would have been uncomfortable, but that’s about the worst I could say. I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could. I’ll certainly be back next time I’m in the area.

We live nearby and love the former restaurant which was in this location. I bought a voucher deal on one of the popular local sites when we saw it online, and thought we’d try it out, as it’s similar cuisine. I rang early on a Monday to book a table of six people for 7.30pm. The lady said they had a table available at 8pm — I said fine, & we have a voucher. She immediately said we could not use a voucher at that time — it could only be used for the early sitting every day. Despite discussing, she was argumentative and not willing to allow us to use the voucher. My issue is there is nothing on the voucher to say this! Other vouchers state their restrictions if they have them — fair enough. I checked the fine print and there were no restrictions on this voucher, other than one per table. With six people dining rather than two… they would have done well. This was a Monday, and they had availability — not a Friday or Saturday when they may well be busy. We took our business elsewhere and have received a refund from the voucher seller. Alladin’s lost out on local business because of their bad customer service. I feel they need to think about the concept of service if they hope to build up a regular customer base.

First off, let me say I’m from the US, where discrimination is common. I have never felt more discriminated against until I came to this restaurant. The waitress seated my party and asked with a nasty tone if we had a reservation(mind you, the place was practically empty). Then she left and ignored us, and didn’t bother to even ask if we wanted something to drink. A few minutes later, a couple came in who apparently had made a reservation. She pointed at my table and said, «I was going to sit you here, but they’re sitting there.» Reminder: the restaurant was EMPTY so there was no need for her rude remarks. That was the last straw– we spent maybe 10 minutes there but left because of the HORRIBLESERVICE. Btw, the waitress told us they didn’t accept credit cards, only cash, so my husband was out at the ATM while we up and left. In short, stay away if you’d like to be treated with respect.

I was there for 15 minutes and the waitress managed to insult my entire group. The disparity in serviced offered to other white couples was obvious and Insulting. I went to about 10 restaurants and pubs in Ireland and this was the only place that made me fell like a second class person. Totally disgusting

I would give zero stars if I could. I was not acknowledged when I walked in. The when I finally was acknowledged, we were sat down. No water or asked for drink orders. Then the waitress came by when another couple came in and said, «I was going to sit you here(pointing at me and my table) but it’s full now.» Then the lady came and asked if we were going to drink wine. She cleared the wine glasses. Didn’t ask about food or drinks. So after 15 minutes of no service, we left and went next door and ate the best pizza of our lives.

I have been here a good few times at lunch. It is never really that busy so you receive your food quite quickly which is a bonus at lunch time when you are tight for time. I have not been for a while because I had just overdosed on it for a time. Their chicken shish is delicious — loads of chicken breast char grilled with tasty vegetables on the side. The cubed potatoes are so flavoursome and the falafel is the best I have tried in the area. Humous with pitta is another favourite which accompanies the falafel like coffee and chocolate. Apart from that, it’s all I have ever eaten there because I loved the same thing so much — hence the overdose. The one negative is that everything is full of garlic — it is so tasty at the time but make sure you have chewingum at the ready. The staff are friendly which is always a bonus to nice food. You can bring your own drink at night or buy it at a discount in the off license a couple of doors down. So no hassle, and a bit cheaper.

Decent middle-east style grub with BYO. Can be very busy on weekend nights so booking advisable. If possible try and avoid getting seated next to the large«party» table at the front door. It gets ridiculously loud, breezy and tight for space when other punters are passing in and out. Lambs meatballs and hummus were very tasty.

Went to this place as a pre-night out bite to eat last night. Service is(super) friendly, space is clean, small/cosy/intimate/crunched depending on the numbers of folk there. Food was good — to be fair the mains were a bit pricey at avg e15−17 per plate — but the BYOB means the overall bill for the night comes in at the good value side of things. Would go again, and would recommend it. You won’t be «wowed» but you won’t be disappointed. Oh, they’ve changed their name to Aladin’s and have some paintings of Aladin in various situations on the walls, the cute side of naff, and added to the low key charm of the place. Its not a destination place, but if we are in the area, would head back. Had the Falafels as a shared starter — delicious, then chilli chicken and the mousaka as mains, my wife left half of mousaka(which was very tasty) — its a huge portion. So to conclude — a solid, safe bet, friendly staff, tasty food, at a good price.

Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. No charge for corkage and a great wine shop a couple of doors down. Wish there were many more like this.
