I got here due to recent purchase of deal voucher, entitled us to get a sharing platter of antipasto(starters), one main course each to choose from the menu(pizza or pasta), plus a glass of wine. Our sharing platter I think it was small. Probably was more a sort of tapas or tasting experience than a sharing platter. Probably the starter purchased on its own might be bigger than this. Speaking about taste, it was ok but I didn’t feel that«OMG I missed this!». I am Italian so probably my expectations are higher. Maybe for a local it could be better experience. I had a look at the menu and I feel prices are little bit expensive for a place that doesn’t call itself a restaurant. If you consider that with the same price you have plenty of choices in town. Although it might worth a visit because it is a friendly environment and they really take care of you. I ordered the ravioli with beef and truffle sauce for main. Food was good, although the filling wasn’t superb. What I like the most is the management. In fact the place is run and managed by Italians so you are sure that everything is kept genuine and original. Also the owner helps with the service and spend time to chat with the customers. The name of this places comes from the hill of Comino in the Lazio region. Again the staff is really friendly and for sure it worth a visit

I have been here tonight. I really enjoyed the food and the chat of the owner. I like café Comino because the glasses which makes the place cool daily and in evening time. If you look for some romantic time. We had white wine, selection of starter for 2 and we ordered the main course. I was thinking to get amatriciana but I really wanted to try the gnocchi Alla sorrentina, wow! They were homemade and delicious. Then we had a lovely chat with the owner. It was nice. It has been a pleasure to eat here again. I recommend the pasta dishes. next time I will try something else. If you like the pizza, I have to say that it really good too. I also like the place, little table with candles. The Italian products displayed. I imagine you can buy them too. You can also have the coffee and desserts. If you don’t know the place try it. It is at the beginning of Thomas street. Not far from Dame street. I will definitely come back.

It’s more a 3.5 stars review but given the lack of decent cafes on Thomas St, let’s just round it up! A step(albeit small) above the usual greasy spoon, the menu would be more inclined towards the lunch crowd. We ordered a steak sandwich and an Italian melt, chips for me and salad on the side which came to around € 18. Food arrived quite promptly — and although tasty, it was very simple and basic. I would have expected a more artisan touch such as caramelised onions or tasty chutney with the sambo. BUT(!!) — the chips were chipper chips which were delish with lashings of salt and vinegar. More cafes should do them instead of half ass-ing undercooked handcut chips ;) Nab the table by the window for a lovely farmer’s tan and a good view of the eccentricity of Thomas St!

This place saved me; I showed up at Staycity down the street after a rough redeye flight, but my apartment wasn’t ready yet. I walked down the street to Caffe Camino and got brunch and an americano. Food was good, prices were reasonable, but more importantly: it’s a lovely space with free wifi and kind staff — thank you!

The owner of this place, Carmine, is the whole reason, other than the excellent food, why you will enjoy Caffè Comino. Other than the generous portions of Italy’s goodness, he offered us to try a varied selection of white & and red wines, directly from Italy. We had the large antipasto for our party [of six], followed by a great Pizza with pancetta, both of superb quality. One of the owners of this establishment, Mr. Carmine, is a true gentleman and socialite that will amuse you with his generous knowledge and grace you with his humor and sharp personality. Just a great staple to our trip to Dublin, overall. All these various factors add to a great overall experience & a definite #recommend.

Got to give some props to this cute little place on Thomas Street. We intended to visit lots more than we did(because the lovely guy told us all about his breakfast scene) but we pretty much lost four days to a crazy Dublin party.(Not one whole party, but a series of fortunate events.) However, what I can tell you about is the evening tapas, wine, and ambiance. TL;DR version: cosy, burnt umber, Mediterranean, prosecco deal. Proper relaxed. Detailed version: We stopped by on a whim, because it was a few moment’s wander away from our little apartment. Since we were all pretty tired from the travels we wanted an easy option. We didn’t even read any reviews before piling in.(Usually a rookie error.) Fortunately, that was a great decision! The dude that runs it explained how new it is and we discussed at some length his lamp shade options. He was ultra personable and helped the one of us not taking advantage of the dinner and prosecco promotion(fool of a Took) choose a delicious red to match his meal. My bearded friend was even cheeky and asked for the pricey wine in place, still on the deal. Something about that epic facial hair could have swung it, but really, I think the owner here likes banter and commended the haggle. Top bloke. The tapas was really unique — in that it had all the usual suspects but somehow they were blinged up a bit. Each of us had a different version too, which lead to sharing and food envy. I like it. I won’t detail — I get the impression each time it depends what’s in, so go and be surprised.(As much as tapas can surprise you.) We very nearly called it a night after eating our fill here. We were so close to a sensible night in and a good night’s sleep. In actuality, around 11.35pm, our four-day adventure began. Can’t help but fondly recall those crossroads and thank Comino for providing proper sustenance at the start of the journey. Got to get myself back here one day for the morning shift.

This café looks small from the front but it’s actually pretty big with lots of place to sit in the back. It’s on touristy Thomas St, a main road with plenty of pubs and places to stay. The menu is mainly paninis, burgers and a bit of brunch. I had the tuna melt with a diet coke on the side which was a reasonable 6.95 euros. Difficult to say whether food is amazing but based on what I had, I liked it. Staff were friendly and it’s nice, warm, clean and bright for a rainy afternoon. You can see the kitchen from the restaurant floor which I like.
