Generally a really busy spot, they should turn it into a public plaza as we have seen last year for events in the city… NYE Dublin

College green is one of the more recognisable centres of Dublin. Called College Green because it is now located on the stretch of vacant land that ranged from Trinity Colleges front arch to the old city walls at Christ Church. The Green has in time become the centre of the city as the Parliament House and the wide streets commission of the 1700’s added more prominence to the eastern edge of the city. This area marks the end(or beginning) of the great road that is O’Connell Street and is marked with numerous classical temple fronts that are now attributed to the Bank of Ireland. The hugely impressive architecture of the Parliament House(Bank of Ireland) was in fact the first of its kind in the world. This sort of classical design was then used on some of the most famous buildings in England and a near direct replica can been at the British Museum in London. Nowadays College green is a crossing for those moving about the city. nearly everywhere is reachable by foot from here and i would suggest it as a starting point for any tourist. New laws prohibit cars from entering the Green unless they are taxis or buses in an effort to improve traffic flow and congestion. A nice place. a little busy but its just like any city centre really.
