Popped by Cotto for brunch today and I was presently surprised! We arrived just after their opening time(12) and were lucky enough to snag a table. I’m not sure if they take reservations but it might be an idea to book ahead if possible. We ordered the Mexican eggs and the Spinach and ricotta frittata. Both of them were delicious! The Mexican eggs were filled with lots of big pieces of pepper and a perfectly seasoned heap of guacamole on top! There’s a black pudding sandwich on the menu that caught my eye… I shall be back!

How happy am I we’ve got another turbo whopper eatery right on our doorsteps in the Batter! Popped in yesterday for brunch(they do brunch from 12pm — 3.30pm on Sat & Sun) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is pristine looking — no major embellishments on the décor which actually really does make you focus on the food. And the food is gooood. I went for the Mexican eggs which I was absolutely stuffed after. It comes piping hot on a skillet, with a toasted folded tortilla. Inside the skillet is a whole world of flavour and cosiness! Red peppers, baked eggs, beans, tomato, some spices, cheese(maybe could have done with a bit more if I was going to be really fussy), and guac piled high on top. I asked for a hot chocolate with marshmallows, obvs.(why would you ever serve a hot chocolate without marshmallows like??) I’ll tell you why. When it’s Mexican hot chocolate pellets that leave you with a feeling of drinking the richest, melted lava-like chocolate, all foamed up with a frother I presume, my god. My god. It needs to be tried to believe. Maybe the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. If not, most certainly up there. And the best part, no marshmallows were killed in the making of this drink. Can’t wait to go back and try their pizzas.

Went here for brunch and it did not disappoint. I had a lovely cappuccino, while my friend had a hot chocolate, which was out of this world — made from Mexican chocolate, über-rich, yet not too sweet, will absolutely order that next time. For food, I ordered the Lebanese plate. Filled with an assortment of vegetables, tabouleh, hummus and feta served over a fresh flatbread, it was visually gorgeous and completely delicious. My friend had the Mexican baked eggs and stopped short of licking the cast iron pan clean. The staff were delightful, I will definitely be back soon!

Yep, have been back for dinner and the pizza is excellent! So good that when they ran out of beer, I didn’t even care, I was too busy stuffing my face. Go. Go now and eat pizza.

Went here on Saturday with a friend of mine for coffee, but I ended up getting food too. It was all superb – the coffee was beautiful(roasted to perfection) and I also managed to secure one of the best frittatas I’ve ever had. Sausage, eggs, rashers and black pudding; it was decadent. I also want to recognize the staff, especially the barista, Brian, who made our experience top-notch.

Stoneybatter is already spoiled for choice with some fabulous eateries and cafes, and now we have yet another great spot to add to our already long list. Yay! Cotto is a new café/restaurant that’s opened up in the old Soulful Bistro premises. They are open from 8am — 11pm, serving breakfast, lunch, and artisan pizzas in the evening. The restaurant space is minimalist and clean, with wood panelling, raw lighting fixtures & exposed brick. There’s plenty of seating space and it’s not cramped.
We popped by today just looking for a coffee, but were delighted to discover it was their first weekend serving brunch. We ordered the Spinach & Ricotta Frittatta & the Oxmans Breakfast — both were excellent. The food was really good quality, very fresh and just what we were after. Their brunch options are a little different to other places which is great to see. I would love to see the addition of another veggie option however. The real shining star for me during this visit though was the coffee — I ordered a cappuccino and it was just gorgeous. Bitter, strong, rich, flavourful, perfectly prepared. One of the best I’ve ever had! If you’re into your coffee, you need to try this place. The coffee they serve is Full Circle Roasters, which is roasted by staff on the premises. On top of all of the above, the staff were dead on, super friendly and the playlist they had on was awesome. Looking forward to coming back very soon! :)
