Exceptionally uninspired. I can’t praise the room, the staff or the food. Huevos rancheros was bland chili with two eggs on top. Served with over cooked chips that tasted like they had been sitting around. There are actually wilted dead flowers in a vase by the till. There is bad radio static playing out of the speakers. The whole experience was just a bit depressing.

Looks OK from outside and menu has some nice sounding items but what’s actually served bears no resemblance to what’s described. The vegetable soup tasted more oxtail and was of a disturbing consistencecy and hue. The«Ruben» sandwich which was supposed to contain pastrami, cheese, fresh yogurt and sauerkraut contained only the pastrami and cheese and was served not on the sourdough advertised but some kind of cheap roll, my suspicion is that it was infact prepackaged and microwaved. The only redeeming item I had was the surprisingly good coffee.

Not sure what all the fuss is about? The interior is awful. We walked in here one morning for breakfast, the room got progressively smokier as time went by. Before long we were in a smoke filled room and this was just from cooking pudding? Food is ok, staff are not amazing. Won’t be back! Shame for such a nice area.

They started opening for dinner, so I tried that out last night. Really good! We tried two starters: mushrooms on toast and red peppers on toast. They were tasty! Well done and presented beautifully with shaved parmesan. I had the red pepper and goat cheese ravioli and it was great. It was so rich that I could not finish it, but the flavors were unique. Never really had ravioli quite like it and I was impressed. They are definitely trying to make the leap from a brunch diner to an all day restaurant and I think it’s going to work for them! And BYOB was a huge plus! Run next door to Baggot Wines and you are set!

I went hoping for a nice breakfast and it was just ok. Eggs with smoked salmon were particularly salty. Scone was good enough but they’re tough to do poorly. Coffee was nothing special. I’ll still be searching for a nice breakfast spot.

Went there tonight to try the evening menu. I had a the Basil and tomato soup with fresh brown bread, delicious. For main I ordered the Lasange. It was a huge portion enought for three people, it came with fresh fried potato cubes. The service was fast and friendly and the price was reasonable. Oh and did i mention its BYOB! I will be back.

Was here for breakfast on Sunday and while i really wanted to like this place, it just failed to live up to expectations. I had the vegetarian option with tea and it was just a plate with 2 fry eggs a small tub of beans, 3 or 4 mushrooms and some toast… i guess i was hoping for a little more imagination. The place was way to hot and the food was to dear… while i didn’t enjoy the Sunday rush i will be back to sample more of there menu, its a grungy little café which suits me fine.
