The scene: first day back to work from Christmas week holiday, and I am dieing of the flu. I go to work intending to leave sick, only more than half the staff in my department beat me to the punch on that one. Me and two others and phones ringing off the hook — I couldn’t leave. I was sentenced to wallow in my own flu misery. At lunch break my colleague sent me off to the chemist, Dowlings being just up the road. Miserable, I spoke with a pharmasist about what tablets might keep me alive(at least feeling half alive) for the rest to the day, I am from Canada and had semi-recently moved and hadn’t bought«foreign» tablets yet and my usual go to flu tablet is not sold in Ireland. I took the Pharmasist’s recommendation and bought some Uniflu tablets. It didn’t matter what they cost at that point, but I will report they were very reasonably priced. The pharmasist consulted me how to take them, as well as possible interaction with a medication I had been taking, and I was on my merry way, swallowing a pill as soon as I left the chemist. An hour later I felt almost normal. Dowlings was my god send that day, and I always go back there when in Dublin and in need of some tablets.
