Just spent a wonderful evening at DVine my father has Penne bollanaisse, my wife had fish pie and I had a pizza. … All fabulous Great wine selection We especially loved to Rondon Crianza Rioja Sonja, the owner spent a bit of time visiting with us Great personal touch Great food great music … Upstairs terrace is enchanting and a great place to retreat after dinner We heartily recommend DVine

A lovely little gem of a place the décor is really intimate and cosy, lovely food at really affordable prices, the staff are lovely and friendly, everything lacks the pretentiousness you so often get in wine bars in Dublin, this place is the real deal, I can’t wait to go back:)

Cosy little spot for a glass or two of decently priced wine. Was planning to head into the Ormand bar, but to my horror they’ve changed their menu(upping the prices and offering less choice is never a good thing in a recession) so headed along the quay to DVine. Only a few tables, which gives it a warm atmosphere. Red special of the day was a very drinkable Spanish number, and for 4e you really can’t fault it. Had the platter of dips and bread, which were decent(all bar the tesco-bought tomato salsa). Again, decent stuff for under a fiver! They do lovely looking stonebaked pizza and a glass of house wine for 12e too — definitely worth a visit!

Handy location for a pre dinner. wasn’t it a music shop before? I think so and if it is the case, fair play for the work on the décor, it really looks as if it’s been there for years. It’s an intimate place, about 4 – 5 tables, you can shout your order from there to the girls at the counter LOL I love love love the fact that they have specials on every day, it makes it very affordable. Very friendly staff as well but I have to say I wouldn’t spend a whole night there as I found the menu a bit limited. I actually didn’t anything about the pizza like Hazel said so maybe I just didn’t pay enough attention !

I assumed this was another greasy pizza place, but far, far from it. This is the city’s newest wine bar, with cool jazz, comfortable high chairs and tables, and tasteful décor. I had a glass of merlot and a pizza as I waited to meet some friends, there’s a house special on at the moment of a glass of house wine plus a ten inch pizza for twelve euro. The wine list takes up most of the menu, and has been developed in conjunction with an Italian wine expert who imports from small Italian vineyards. The owner intends to set up a wine club once the place is up and running. The pizza is gorgeous, not the salty greasy nonsense served up by many if not most ‘Italian’ outlets in Dublin, and is accompanied by dips and a tomato salad. It was so delicious there wasn’t even any crust left for me to eat the dips with! For the record, I had fresh tomato, mozzarella and parma ham toppings. Om nom nom. It’s lovely that a place with a bit of imagination has opened on the otherwise fairly stodgy northside of the river. I don’t count the Italian Quarter as being northside, really, as it feels to me like an extension to Temple Bar in many ways. Anyway, check this place out, bring your wine taste-buds and a bit of an appetite.
