Great coffee, espresso, latte. McCabes hand roasted coffee is worth the visit. Very unique and fantastic coffee. Nice little shop with sitting room and very friendly service.

great views, good brew and free wifi, but was told that Unilocal offer no longer applies and that they have been off Unilocal(?) for two years.

One day walking at quays after work I passed it from of it and I saw free wifi and great coffee in a sign outside. Why not? I thought. It is a very nice coffee place. And small too. The big deal here is order a coffee and sit by the window to watch the peasants. The coffee is good indeed, latte is 2.80(small). Carrot cake 3.95. It was good to tell the truth, but it wasn’t fresh. The location is perfect, at corner between Temple Bar/Quays.

NONO … JUSTNO… This place appealed to me greatly… the look of it. I read great reviews… plus they did crepes which was a big win for me as not many places do crepes …(none that is near to my office anyway). had a bad morning in work so I said I’d treat myself to a nice crêpe with tons of chocolate spread etc. I was really looking forward to it… I went in to order my crêpe along with a coffee…(just to wash down the crêpe with). he took the payment and said he would bring it down to me… I sat down… I waited and waited and waited… He brings the coffee down. I then waited and waited and waited… he then returns«we ran out of crêpe mixture, I will refund you your money»… No I’m not annoyed that they ran out of mixture(or whatever it was they needed) these things happen I understand that(of course I would have been disappointed as I was looking forward to it) but I wouldn’t have got so angry … If he had have been in anyway apologetic about it… or tried in anyway to compensate for it… i.e. offered me the coffee free of charge. or offered me a free refill. or if he couldn’t do that, then at least try to make me feel more wanted by offering me something else instead. like«may I offer you a doughnut instead or a piece of cake» etc… no apology or nothing… pure bad manners and I wont be back after that… wasted my time as well as anything else considering I had been sitting there for a good 15 minutes or so … plus got my hopes up and I had to decide on somewhere else to go for lunch… I ended up buying a coffee I didn’t finish as I had to go elsewhere for food, besides I didn’t even want the coffee that badly as I only got it to accompany my creep. something to wash it down with… Its not what they did its how they did it and that might not bother some people and they are thinking«big deal» but it really gets to me things like that, rudeness etc… and im very disappointed with that place… Judging by the other reviews though I was just clearly unlucky and I might come back again because of that but ill be more on the ball with the service and will be prepared for an appropriate response if needs be. plus its nice to have somewhere that’s more independent than the likes of starbucks so ill give it a second chance… im giving the two stars as I don’t want to be too harsh considering I haven’t actually tried the food… but service and customer care is a big no no !

I ended up in Dwarf Jar by accident(after missing my stop on the bus…)…and it was a happy accident! The place is small and functional — the coffee is the star here. I had a creamy cappuccino that had a proper kick(their coffee is hand-roasted by McCabe’s in Wicklow). I didn’t have enough change to get a sweet treat(and their laser machine was out of action), so I had a nibble of one of the brownies they had cut up for customers to taste… instant chocolate hit! Apart from the coffee, my favourite thing about this place was the small selection of books on offer(an eclectic mix from a Jane Austen classic to a book about Mindfulness to another tome about Victorian buildings in Dublin). I would have liked to have had a proper nose through each book, while looking up every now and then from my window seat, at the people passing by on the Quays on that rainy day… but alas, I’ll have to save that for my next visit when I’ll make more time.

Stopped in for a quick coffee on our way to a play. Pleasant little place and the guy behind the counter was nice. Decent coffee, I’ve had better, had worse, but its nice to have somewhere thats not a chain.

I loved this little coffee shop! My boyfriend and I walked in here, dying for some caffeine, and the gentleman behind the counter was beyond helpful. He was patient and took our confusion and turned it into a perfectly made beverage. Twice over, as I hadn’t made up my mind yet. When I checked in, I received a coupon, and he honored it with a smile. Such a gem

I have been to Dwarf Jar many times. The coffee is really good and they have lots of tasty treats. Great location too.

I was quite pleased to see that nice corner on the quays finally occupied by something worthwhile. It’s small, but very cosy. Coffee is the main reason I frequent cafés and this one delivers, adding another very good coffee spot to a city where it was once sorely missed. The owner is friendly and quite passionate about his work, what more could you want! I have yet to try their sandwiches, so I’m keeping that one last start to myself for now!

Had a 3.50 voucher for two cups of coffee and two pastries — you can’t argue with a price like that. The coffee was good and the pastry was decent. I could find other places that were better but it wasn’t bad.

Great new spot — such a change from bland chain coffee! Good luck guys!
