Found this place by chance looking for brunch, what a lucky find !
Abidance is great and a little lovely friendly welcome .
Busy enough so lucky to get a table
Brunch menu great, ordered couple of bloody Mary’s they where fab
Got lamb burger which was with goats cheese and salad, chunky chips no complaints
Friends got steak and eggs, same fab
Finished of with benofie pie was lovely
Paula our server couldn’t been more attentive water keep coming and always asked where we ok
One best brunches around Dublin!

Had a lovely steak sandwich for brunch! Really tasty! Also had a Gin cocktail that was super! Good service and fab service.

Having heard good reports, I booked Eden on South William Street for our Saturday afternoon outing. We kicked off with some drinks — Prosecco of course!
Eden could be described as «quirky» I guess… and kind of retro. If you are into a shiny and modern restaurant this may not be your thing… the old school lampshades and print carpets lend a bit of a 70’s vibe. The front area opens out to a large bright dining space with plenty of greenery and artwork!
There is a substantial Brunch menu here — definitely a LOT more options than are offered in most places… multiple egg options, fishcakes, steak and lamb burger to mention just a few… along with a salad thrown in there for anyone who wants to be virtuous!
I went for the Sweet Potato & Butternut Squash Rosti with tender stem broccoli, spinach, roast tomato & hollandaise and I subbed the poached egg for mushrooms. I loved this dish, my friend however felt there was a bit of an overpowering orangey taste coming from her rosti — mine was perfection though!
Another of the group went for Scrambled Eggs on toasted Brioche with smoked salmon, spinach, chive crème fraîche, spring onion & avocado salsa. One thing I miss most being veggie is smoked salmon… I mean I REALLY miss it, so had severe food envy looking at her dish.
Just one of the group went for the meat option, choosing the Steak & Onion Sandwich with caramelized onion, wholegrain mustard mayonnaise, watercress & triple cooked chips… those triple cooked chips — delish!
We decided to share two desserts and went firstly for the Meringue Roulade with strawberry, mascarpone & lemon sorbet … and a sprinkling on popping candy stuff — along with a candle and an embarrassing Happy Birthday sing-​a-​long! The second choice was Chocolate Mousse w/​raspberry compote & crème chantilly — being a chocolate fiend I preferred this one… rich chocolate mousse paired with a real bite from the compote… yum.
They’ve got a decent cocktail menu too and let me tell you — they pack quite a punch! :-)
Eden run Brunch on a Saturday & Sunday from 12 — 4pm… if you fancy somewhere quirky with decent food at reasonable prices it’s worth a try!

We called ahead for brunch, a big table of 8 and a young child. They had markers and papers laid out when we got there and a kid’s menu, which is always a big plus to me. I love it when a place acknowledges that children exist and want to eat nice food.
We had cocktails (the bloody mary was delicious, spicier than I would normally have but it was a nice change) and ordered from the brunch menu. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. I had the scrambled eggs on brioche with a scrumptious avocado salsa and smoked salmon. My dad had eggs Florentine and was blown away.
The service was on the slow side but the surroundings are interesting and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
I also have to talk about the bathrooms, which were spacious and super clean, with lots of interesting quotes on the doors.

«A brunch lovers paradise» should be written at the bottom of all their menus. I haven’t been out to a meal in a good while because nothing has really caught my eye, specifically a breakfast meal. Last Sunday, I decided I’d like to try somewhere new hoping my eye would be caught. LUCKY me I chose Eden Bar and Grill to restore my faith in going out to brunch being worth it. The prices were very reasonable for the ambiance of the place. Beautiful décor, speakeasy hanging lights, very open with plenty of light coming in and plants climbing up the wall, and stylish 20s era chairs by the window along with beautiful wallpaper and curtains at the entrance. I’d say this place was made for brunch. It was nice — not many people, a very attentive waiter, yet when we were finished he let us be to chat a long while and finish our coffee. There were people beside us enjoying a quick read of a book for a Sunday afternoon — the atmosphere was really relaxing and conversational, yet classy, yet dressing casual would be accepted. The menu options were refreshing the perfect balance of comforting breakfast food with a light fresh twist such as french toast with a side salad. They also had heavier items such as fish and chips. There was a drink on the cocktail menu to fit any meal on the menu. I’m sure I will return. I’d love to try them for dinner, however, they do brunch so well, I might not want to risk my favorable opinion.

We followed a tip from a friend from back home, and we decided to give Eden a chance. Wow, we were really amazed by the food. Our waiter was very welcoming and helped us pick a suitable wine. Because it was a Sunday night, we decided on the Pre-​fixe menu. The menu changed last Wednesday, but we enjoyed everything we ordered. We were served remarkably creative dishes superbly prepared. for example, I ordered the beignets stuffed with goats milk cheese. Incredible. For dessert, don’t miss the soft meringue roulade with strawberry mascarpone and lemon sorbet.

I went to Eden with a group of workmates. South William street itself is a vibrant place, the weather was lovely and citizens were jolly because of the latest Irish referendum (yay!)
Eden is located close to the corner of the street in a superb location. As soon as you get in, you will note the beautiful and classy décor. Wooden tables and chairs, romantic chandeliers and lots of plants set the tone of the establishment. There is room for fun also in the toilets — full of poems and drawings — and in the main area, where there is a «hanging body» in front of the open kitchen, where you can see chefs cooking and it all looks professional and clean.
The service is not overly friendly but polite and if they do not know the answer for something, they go after to find out.
Now let’s get to the food. They put a big jar of water with lemons on the table, which I really appreciate. The bread basket was not very good as the only option available is soda bread that tasted a bit old and this type of bread does not appeal to many.
The menu has a few veggie options and in general the place is a bit pricey. Starters range from 5 to 9 as desserts and mains from 18 to 25 in average. I ordered a small portion of chips — which were extremely hot almost burning everyone’s tongues; they do have lovely dips though. My starter was the gnocchi with parmesan with some grilled veggie and my main, an interesting Rosti that looked like a burger and it was basically beetroot with potato.
I guess it is all about the décor and presentation of the plate, but the portions could be a bit bigger. The starter had only 5 balls of gnocchi costing almost 9 euro, but it was extremely tasty.
In general a great place to try out at least once but it is more a bistro so expect small beautiful portions.
By the way they do have a pre set menu of 36.50 p/​p but you must be in a group.

This place is great for brunch and they do an amazing eggs benedict!

The main dining room here is lovely. I like the way the seats and tables are arranged. The staff who looked after us were all very friendly and helpful. The menu has a great selection of different items such as chicken, fish and steak. I had a delicious steak– I dont normally go for this. I was in the mood for a cheese board so I skipped the starters. The cheeses were great and there was plenty of crackers and grapes. We had a delicious Malbec with our meal which was very reasonable too
It was strangely quiet for a Friday night and they never filled up. I do know that this place is popular with groups and the space certainly lends itsself to larger groups of friends. I enjoyed dinner here– we all did– and I will go back soon.

Brunch time! This year I want to try as many restaurants as I can to try out their brunch menu… in search of the perfect scrambled or poached eggs (Because, let’s face it, I rarely order anything else for brunch.)
It was a sunday and most places were packed to the rim and had no seat available. How nice to find Eden, an oasis of calm, it was only half full, mostly families, and people quietly enjoying their food while reading their paper.
We did not get the most warm welcome while entering, and service was very stand off-​ish throughout. Half way through our meal, the girl (manager?) came to our table, looking at our plate and asking ’ Are you still working on that, yeah?!’ Excuse me??? I found it quite rude to be honest.
Me and my friend both went for the scrambled eggs with salmon, and an avocado salsa. It was delish, very creamy, and I enjoyed every bite… but there were not enough bites, the portion was small, the eggs were served on only a tiny piece of brioche. We decided to order some more toast and fries. That took forever to come out unfortunately. I found the fries way too greasy, and it was served with some strange smokey BBQ mayonnaise. Not a fan.
All in all, I enjoyed my food mostly, but due to the small portion size, frosty service I doubt I will return any time soon.

Went here with a large group. Service was very friendly and efficient. We had the prix fixe menu which had plenty of options and suited the whole crew. My pâté starter and hake with mussels main were both excellent. Great atmosphere in the place and seemed to be well configured for large groups. Looking forward to going back soon.

Went here on Sunday with my family and my wife’s family. We had our 2 children with us and they where not but of in anyway them that. Great food great staff but it’s was a little quite and could have done some background music.

So we used to go to Eden in Temple bar for brunch and that was really great, brunch was actually breakfast and lunch and kept you full for the rest of the day. The brunch at Eden Bar and Grill is of similar quality, but the portions are not what I would call brunch, where is the bread basket with slices of banana bread, and no home fries??? What?!
Having said that the restaurant is still nice, the food is still very tasty, and they even had a paleo/​vegetarian/​coeliac option with very nicely done grilled veg and perfect poached eggs. The standard of food is just as high as Eden ever was, but the portions are just a bit small for brunch. Luckily there are plenty of places down the road for cake and coffee after!

I went here on Bank Holiday Monday drawn in by the € 20 2-​course early bird menu. We hadn’t booked but luckily the restaurant wasn’t too busy to take us.
I ordered the pumpkin risotto while my OH ordered the duck liver parfait to start. My risotto was lovely, very tasty. If I had one criticism it would be that the small cubes of pumpkin through the risotto were a tad undercooked but the risotto itself was creamy and delicious.
I tasted the parfait which was served with brioche toast. It was smooth, flavourful and the brioche toast prefectly complimented it.
We both had steak and chips for mains (which had a € 3.50 supplement) and they were cooked perfectly medium as we had asked. My knife just slid through and it melted in the mouth. It was served with a roasted tomato and a herb butter. Simple but a perfect accompaniment.
And now the chips. My OH is not fond of salt. It’s generally his main complaint when we eat out, that food has been over salted. The chips here were dare I say it, as close to perfect as you’d get without him having made them himself. Very lightly salted, crispy on the outside and fluffy potato on the inside. Not perfect chips, but damn good ones.
We were too full to add a dessert although there looked like there were some nice ones on the menu.

Nice place but I was a little let down with the food.
There was about 12 of us booked in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated at a large table opposite the bar. The table was far too big and it was difficult to talk to the person opposite so we all ended up standing around chatting rather than sitting until the food came.
The décor is quite nice in this place and I liked the candles and lighting on the tables.
When the food came I was a little disappointed. I ordered the haddock smokies. The first few bite were so nice but after that all I could taste was salt. I know haddock is a salty fish but I think an enormous amount of salt must have been added as I couldn’t taste anything else.
The chips on the side were also covered in large chunks of salt and completely ruined the taste. The broccoli side dish was quite tasteless.
Desert wasn’t much better, I had the brownie and it just wasn’t very nice at all. Overall the place is nice, the staff are nice but the food is not up to scratch at all.

I was extremely pleased with this place. Me and a friend randomly spotted it while we were looking for lunch one day. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is very calm and tranquil and it wasnt busy at all (at 4:00 pm on a Friday)… The menu was quite «fancy» so they dont serve things like chips (as a main or a side) and they dont do basic sandwhiches. This is more a place where you would eat for lesiure rather than convinience. It isnt really suitable for kids.
I ordered a smoked salmon with a poached egg on top with asparagus and whole meal bread. It was extremely tasty. It cost seven euro. It was delicious and I will defintely be back. Not suitable if your looking for a simple basic meal.

Firstly it seems more difficult to find than it should be — possibly because the sign says EB&G rather than Eden. its quite nice inside — we were a large group seated at a giant table and it all seemed rather civilised.
We had the Christmas menu which was 36.50 for three courses plus 10% service charge and a supplement for steak. It seemed a little pricey for a set menu (even a Christmas one) given that there’s quite a few good deals around these days. I didn’t think the food lived up to that, and possibly there was a little too much of the trying to be weird.
For starters I had the smoked chicken salad with candy beetroot. It was more curious than anything else. And while it came in a large portion I felt I endured it more than enjoyed it. The salad was pretty stalky and the candy beetroot was really nothing to advertise. For a main I went for the steak, which came more cooked than I’d like it but it was fine. For dessert I had the brioche and butter pudding and that was lovely — but it is a hard dish to get wrong. I also had a taste of the flourless chocolate cake and that was actually quite bad. Mary Berry would dress it down for being overcooked and chalky.
The wine list is pretty varied with bottles starting from about 22 euro, and going right up. They do a few posh beers but no cider :(And the toilets were quite pretty
So all in all not worth the price charged. The staff were attentive and generally the service was good, but I felt the food was trying too hard to be inventive at the expense of being good

Trying Hard But Doesn’t Make the Grade
Went for lunch with a friend yesterday and overall we were dissatisfied.
Eden Bar and Grill is an awkward little place. The décor itself doesn’t quite know what to be. Sometimes a mix and match of modern, classic, and antique works well — here it misses the mark. The result is not so much that the atmosphere is unpleasant — it is airy and clean — but it appears the decorator stropped short of tying things together and finished the job with a smattering of cheap plants.
The food here is not much to speak of either. and presented with more show than taste. A chicken liver parfait — as a starter — while beautiful on the plate — was pasty and bland — suffering terribly from a lack of seasoning.
For mains we had a codfish with vegetables and a tempura cod with a pea mousse. While the fish in both dishes was acceptable — the accompanying folly was again lacking seasoning. And, the pea mousse was just plain awful — imagine poorly seasoned frothy whipped peas served somewhere around room temperature.
We hoped dessert would save the meal, but again we were disappointed. A white chocolate mousse accompanied by watermelon, cucumber, and mint was highly unbalanced and the texture of the cucumber was gooey. Our second dish — a panna cotta with poached strawberries was no better — the panna cotta was shiny and highly gelatinous and the poached strawberry was watery and flavorless.
Service was adequate, however we waited a very long time to get our check after our meal — and the restaurant was not very busy.
Who knows? Maybe they do a better job of things at dinner.

Lovely little bistro! Have walked past this little gem numerous times as it is hidden a little bit from the street, but today a friend suggested lunch here and I am glad! I had the squash soup, which was heavenly, served with crusty, homemade croutons. We also ordered the Chicken Ceasar Salad which was yummy~iceberg lettuce, large beautiful moist pieces of warm chicken breast, shavings of Parmesan cheese and a handful of those wonderful, crusty croutons again, all drizzled lightly with creamy Ceasar dressing. Can’t wait to go back, as the service was good, the restaurant airy and bright and not overpriced for what turned out to be a lovely lunch!

I had spotted this place open a week or so ago and decided I should venture in in the near future. So when looking for somewhere to eat in the area on Sunday, I decided that myself and friend should try it out or at least take a look at the menu. It is in the old ‘Blu Eriu’ salon premises (we had to ask the waitress what it used to be!).
Small at the front, once you go inside the place opens up to stretch right out at the back, complete with glass sunroof for lots of natural light, complementing the cool green colour scheme and occasional foliage.
We had the place almost to ourselves at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon but they were still serving brunch (12.30−4.30pm) so we ordered from the Brunch menu.
I ordered an omelette which came with 3 fillings of choice — I opted for Porcini mushrooms, cheese (not specified) and spinach with a tea while my friend ordered Eggs Florentine and a latte.
Service was quite quick and the food was fresh and tasty and hit the spot. Both items came with a leafy green salad on the side and both were thoroughly enjoyable. Whne I had to return my first teacup as it was a little dirty, the waitress was very apologetic and my friend could see her washing a new cup for me to make sure it was sparkling. The kitchen is also visible at the back of the restaurant.
The bill came to € 23.00, possibly a little expensive but worth it for the tasty food and calming interior away from the madness of a Tall Ships-​bereft Dublin :)
