What a lovely little coffee stop! I went in here just after they opened — about 7:45am on a Monday, expecting the place to be incredibly busy — it was very quiet and quite nice early in the morning! I was a bit surprised by their menu, since it doesn’t show off that they do food as well as the usual coffee selections(I got a mocha by the way: light on the chocolate but very solid coffee). Was very happy with the service. Nice and polite woman who served me. I’m planning to go back for breakfast sometime soon — but I can definitely vouch for the coffee, excellent choice on the go! I can’t give them five stars since I haven’t had the food, but it is a lovely little shop.

My new local café! Now that I live on the same road as this spot, it’s my new favorite place to set down for a coffee and some WiFi connection. The coffee is good and the space is really nice(it has never been too busy when I’ve been here). They have a selection of breakfast and lunch options on their menu. I have tried their soup, their ham and cheese sandwich and their poached eggs. They were all very tasty and a little different except the bread was a little too crisp for my taste. What made me happiest about this place was one of the staff members or the owner(not sure); she was particularly lovely a few times now and really makes you feel good as you leave the place. One day she said she wasn’t having a great day and she was still lovely and really made the place feel welcoming. It’s a rare thing! I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for a warm welcoming spot, good coffee, some warm food to tide you over and free WiFi of course.

Good brunch food but a weird atmosphere. Even at the very back of the seating area you’re very aware of the major road beside it. They were also playing some pretty loud house music when I was there which wasn’t what I was expecting over lazy weekend brunch. Gets pretty busy to aim to hit it before midday if you’re brunching.

Very bad customer experience in this café this afternoon. I walked in off the street to purchase a can of cola. I am actually shocked at the extreme rudeness of the young man working in here. I changed my mind ordering after being called rude on front of the entire café and I have absolutely no idea why. This boy also proceeded to place his hand on my shoulder to beckon me out of the way. After asking who the owner of the establishment was I was waved at and verbally ignored. I have eaten lunch in here before but will never return. I do not care how bad your day is, it is never acceptable for a hospitality establishment to treat customers in this manner.

This is my favorite place to eat in Dublin! The team there could not be more friendly, the vibe is wonderful, and the food and coffee are consistently great. When I go, I nearly always split a scone and the Grove Road Eggs(poached eggs, tomato pesto, Parmesan on toast). The coffee is on par with 3fe — solid cappuccino!

Yet another place that has been on my «must go» bucket list. Finally went on a lazy Sunday for brunch. The place itself is quite small and cosy, just perfect for the Sunday brunch basically. If it’s a nice day there are a few tables outside overlooking the canal which is quite lovely, although it is at quite a busy intersection, worth keeping in mind. The brunch menu was not huge, but everything on the menu sounded pretty amazing and there was a good assortment of lighter and heavier options, with a mix of savoury and sweet in the mix. I ordered the poached eggs on a sourdough toast with tomato pesto, which also came with a small serving of green salad, it was pretty delicious, can’t really fault it. I also ordered a flat white, the quality of coffee was very good which is important to me and still not that common in Dublin so that begs a mention. I also splurged and ordered a fresh squeezed juice — I had the apple, carrot and ginger juice which was also pretty amazing. To top it all off, the staff was also quite lovely and the service was very fast, so for two hungry people walking in off the street we were very happy with the overall experience. We sat on the stools at the back facing rathmines road as the place was quite busy, it’s nice if you’re into people watching(as I said, busy thoroughfare and all that), that said, I’m not actually sure if they take table bookings but if you want to go on the weekend, might not be a bad idea to check that out and reserve a spot if possible.

This neighborhood stop is so convenient! They have light, but hearty breakfast/brunch items, healthy snacks, sweets, juices, and great coffee! I love coming here on Saturdays as my first stop of the weekend. Their homemade oat/healthy cookies are delicious– and I’m not a health food zealot at all! For brunch, I had the avocado on toast with perfectly poached eggs! I also had their fresh pressed juice, which was nice! The staff here are really chipper early in the morning and super friendly. I caught myself I a conversation about burrito places about town once with the cashier-they’re so friendly. This is a great spot to catch up with an old friend, or to get a bite to eat before a long walk on the canal!

If you looking for quality coffee with a view over the canal, there is no better place in Dublin to go. You are defo in for a treat, the guys at Grove Road know their skills and are passionate about what they do. Love that they offer some GF treats and all other lovely sweet and savoury snacks for non coeliacs. Coffee is made to profection and it is such a good place to spend some sunny afternoons with friends while sipping away on coffee and catching up !

I heard so many positive reviews about this place but in all honesty, I am not impressed. I haven’t had a bad experience here, I just don’t see the big deal? We came here for brunch because we wanted something close to the canal. I was not impressed by the variety of options available. It’s not a brunch place, but a basic café. I had the chicken sandwich and my friends had some pastries and soup. The coffee wasn’t great, the service slow. I probably will not come back, though there’s nothing bad about this place.

Usually I feel bad reviewing a place after I’ve just had a coffee but Grove Road has my heart already. Friendly and quick service, fantastic people — watching location, and most importantly delicious coffee. Wonderful place to grab a bite or bean on a sunny day after a stroll by the canal! Or in my case, when it starts lashing rain on a previously gorgeous day. Also the music while I was here was a mix of hiphop and classical. My kind of stuff. I’ll definitely back to try something else from the menu. I wish I had more excuses to come to this area!

This spot has been under the guise of various names and types of cuisine, more recently The Grove Café, serving light meals. At lunch there’s a small menu of lovely sandwiches, salads and soup. I had the Feta and Avocado Smash, served on sour dough bread with a bit of salad for garnish. It was very tasty and satisfying. My friend had the roast chicken and stuffing, which looked tempting. Afterwards, we had a bit of cake-me the salted chocolate brownie and she a little cake. All very nice, though I found the coffee/espresso to be very bitter, making it the worst part of my visit. After all that, though, it’s worth visiting again. Great atmosphere, very warm and welcoming staff. I hope this place endures.

I stop in here for a coffee to go most mornings but today I decided to stay and have breakfast here too. The coffee is always delicious and very consistent. For food, I ordered a toasted breakfast sandwich which consists of sausage, bacon, egg and what I believe was a tomato relish. It was without doubt one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. I would highly recommend Other bonuses are the staff who are always friendly, always have a smile and have an amazing ability to remember everyone’s usual coffee order. The café also has free wifi which is pretty decent. 100% recommend for just a coffee or for food.

I returned to Grove Road today for a lunch date and opted for the Roast Chicken sandwich with stuffing on granary bread. Sweet tap dancing Jebus it was delicious. Even the salad on the side of carrot and feta deserves a mention. Yummy. I think I’m addicted now. And I dare not try any other sandwich on the menu. I’ll definitely be back.

Slipped in here early of a Saturday and was really impressed. Great little café! Love the way it’s decorated really cool a lot of shades of gray with touches of white and painted wood. The furniture is mismatched with made to look old riveted together stools and modern red plastic chairs as well. Cool feature if the place it’s the hang down glow lighting inside some old rope which looks very designer The coffee, which is all I ordered comes from roasted brown and served in a really nice red cup and is delicious, place was very busy when I was there so there was alota noise but not overpoweringly loud. Food looked delicious although didn’t treat myself to any, I must visit again soon :)

I can’t say a lot about this place, I got in because I wanted to drink something hot, dreaming secretly of a matcha milk tea, what they actually didn’t had, but it’s not really common so, I decided to take a flat white, with soy milk since it’s written that they have some. I first asked the barman what was the difference between a flat white and a latte, because I had no idea of the difference, I was a bit shy about asking this because they was another person waiting to order, but he answered really nicely and I didn’t felt like bothering him at all which was really pleasant ! So I ordered a flat white with soy milk, unfortunately they were out of soy milk, aww… I then had to change my plans and opted for a tea, it’s very nice because they have tiny containers where you can smell the tea and make your choice. So I took an Irish breakfast tea, which was really good. The place is really nice and cosy, definitely a place where I could spend an afternoon working on my computer. The barman was really cheerful, I think it’s really rare to see someone THAT nice in a bar /coffee shop /restaurant, and it’s always really enjoyable ! I decided to take a loyalty card and he even added a second stamp on it to apologize for the soy milk, so I would definitely not hold that against them.

Grove Road is my favorite café in Dublin. The coffee, food and people are exceptional! My favorite order is a long black coffee and their fresh granola with yogurt and berry compote. Tastes homemade, fresh and delicious! The scones are amazing too! This is the perfect spot for a quick takeaway, or a lengthily weekend brunch with friends. The service is wonderful, efficient and kind! My boyfriend and I love popping into Grove Road for a great meal and a chat! It’s also quiet enough to get some work done or read. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone!

Wow what a place. The food was amazing. A chicken and herb sandwich with carrot and lentil soup. Moist, fresh, super tasty. I did not expect such a hearty, healthy, well-priced lunch at all! Funky music, friendly staff, lovely big windows, and plugs easily accessible to charge your phone. Do yourself a funky favour and drop in for a bite here.

Two thumbs-up rating from me on this place! I tend to be a bit sceptical of all the cafes around these days that advertise their coffee as one of Dublin’s «best», but hotdiggidydawg the coffee her is really worth the hype! Not too bitter at all and smooth as Tony Soprano’s slick-back. Really nice staff and the cherry to top it all off? They do almond milk! So can I get a virtual fistpump from all my lactose-intolerant peeps out there?!
