Louis Mulcahy is one of Ireland’s most eminent potters, who has been selling his wares to visitors and Irish people alike for over forty years.
All pieces are produced in Ireland in the Louis Mulcahy workshop in Dingle, where he works with his wife, a weaver and lampshade designer, whose wares are also on sale in the Dublin shop.
Mulcahy specialises in fine porcelain and robust stoneware, glazed by hand in deep, earthy colours. His distinctive vases, bowls, plates, lamps and urns are inspired by nature, painted with Irish flowers like the fuchsia, or taking their shape from the waves of the sea.
The Dawson Street shop displays the full range of the current Louis Mulcahy collection, and is worth a browse even if you’re not in the market for buying.
