Maplin Electronics

A very useful electrical shop for tools, gadgets and components. I bought the wrong tool here, but they were very happy and helpful to change it for the right one.

I often go to Maplin in Blancharstown mostly because I believe it is the only electronic shop in the Dublin West area, but also for sure they have a great customer service, both in store and online.
I know they have to greet customers and ask «may I help you?» as it is in their policy, but also I like the way they help you so it is great and it is good when you are considered a valued customer.
Staff is really helpful and advice you if there is some option you might consider about a product. Sometimes they have huge discount in a particular range so they advise you about that just in case you don’t know. Maybe you add 2 Euro more and get something better. You know, promotions, discounts, etc, etc. So better to be advised by their staff.
Talking about the gadgets, you will be like in a wonderland as there are plenty of stuff for every budget. I tell you that, because when you enter with the intention just to look around, for sure you will find something interesting to purchase :-)
When you buy a product you are really covered by their warranty, they provide you a proper online customer service. They don’t spend the time apologizing or saying «sorry but…», if you have an issue with the product they sort it out. It doesn’t work? They replace it. No excuses. They don’t need.

For an electronics & gadget shop this is the place to go. Every single time I come in, without fail, somebody always greets me at the door and asks if there’s something in particular that I’m looking for (this isn’t really the type of shop you come to for a browse) and they haven’t let me down once. They always seem to have stock.
Anything from floppy discs (yep, you can still buy ‘em) to 50 meter ethernet cables. They’ve got it! Staff seem to all know exactly what they’re talking about even though there’s such a vast variety of things on sale here.
They’re all extremely friendly and I haven’t once been left waiting for somebody to come serve me. They also seem genuinely happy in what they do so it’s so much easier to talk to them and get advice. What ever they’re doing, they need to keep it up!
