I love their healthy chicken wrap, the italian salad is tasty as well. All the food is freshly prepared, nice people. Not pricy and good quality.

Didn’t know what to expect with a French name and Asian staff but the food was really good. I had fish and chips and my wife poached eggs on toast with tea And coffee. My wife really enjoyed her eggs with plenty of toast. My fish and chips were really tasty, fish in a very light batter and the chips were hand cut with skins left on with a nice salad. Only down side was that the food didn’t arrive together, my wife had nearly finished before mine arrived. Tables were close enough to see what others were having and one customer had smoked salmon on brown bread which looked very tasty. Mes Amis has something for everyone and we would definitely go there again. The Abbey street area has alot of restaurants and this place holds it’s own. It is a lovely cosy place to have a lunch time sandwich or wrap that attracts local office workers. Our bill came to € 18.50 which I felt was reasonable

Just popped in here for a quick bite before running to the train. It was about a 10 minute wait for a crêpe which was fine by me. I intend to come back some day and order something more interesting and judge the place properly by that, but the crêpe was just fine! I’ve had nicer elsewhere so it’s just one of those things, a personal preference. Also there were about 50 flies inside the place around the fan, which was weird.

What a great little find! We just wanted a small bite somewhere and ended up having the best steak sandwich in a very very long time. Massive portion of meat cooked exactly the way we wanted on a bed of onions on top of a warm ciabatta. The top half of it was covered in grilled cheese. Hmmm… grilled cheese! It is served with either garlic butter or pepper sauce and comes with a portions of super-hot chips and few green leaves for prettiness. The strawberry smoothie is amazing also, tastes so fresh and healthy it surely balances out the grilled cheese on white bread part. Coffee is good and after 2pm they serve freshly made crêpe. For sure I’ll be there again next Sunday if anyone wants to join.

A great little spot. I was horribly hungover and in town for meet people. My first appointment was over in Bewleys which had queues out the door. Looking for a different venue for my next meeting Hazel M suggested this space. Town was full of people in the usual Saturday pre-Christmas shopping and every place looked jammed, but this spot was a quiet, little oasis of calm. It was busy enough but did have one or two tables free so I was able to sit down straight away. I order carrot cake and tea which was quite big and very good. Hazel joined me and we spent quite a while there just chatting(and me recovering). We ordered chips as well later. The food is good. The staff are lovely. I almost don’t want to tell you about this place because what if it gets all full and I want to go there?

Friendly and well-run café a stone’s throw away from Jervis Luas stop. I came in around noon on a Saturday and got seated quickly enough. Efficient service meant I got my veggie breakfast and soy latte on my table before you can say«Hangry for brunch!» Food was simple fare but done well, and priced competitively. The interior design with dark wooden textures and soft lighting lends itself to a cosy ambience, I chilled out and read the news for a while after finishing my meal without feeling rushed to vacate the table. A good little quaint spot right in the city centre :)

Stopped off for a pot of tea and ended up spending quite a while here, reading, making a few notes and eventually had some dinner in the form of pasta carbonara. The menu isn’t complicated but the food is surprisingly good. The staff are always lovely. There aren’t many nice cafes where you can get a really cheap meal as well in that part of town. I’m really glad Mes Amis is sticking around.

Popped in here earlier really quickly to grab some takeaway soup to devour on ye old Luas. Devour I did, it was tomato, and possibly the tastiest tomato soup I’ve ever had. It tasted homemade, so punchy, full of flavour, and a nice thick consistency. It cost 4 yoyos for that and two slices of brown bread. I can’t say much for the rest of it as it really was a whistle stop tour, but the interior looked cosy(if a little cluttered?), and the waitress was polite and friendly. Next time I’m back this way again, I’ll more than likely pop my head in.

A café with a French name where none of ‘My Friends’ have ever been? I passed this place a few times before and I knew the menu was nothing particularly French or continental until last week when I finally walked in. This is what I found. The restaurant was clean and felt cosy, I liked the bistro tables and seating along the wall. You know what they say about a restaurant’s toilets: at Mes Amis café the toilets are so clean you will need sunglasses. I know it’s a bit odd to talk about toilets, I never do in reviews come to think of it, but this was amazingly bright, clean, in full functioning order, and the wallpaper even made the place look cosy; not that I was going to stay for long mind you. If there was a Unilocal list for cleanest toilets, Mes Amis would be on that list. You probably care more about the food and so did I. I ordered the vegetarian(all-day) breakfast because I was famished and needed a treat, with an americano. Staff was pleasant, discreet and efficient. A hatch at the back lets you peek into the kitchen, which is also usually a good sign. Breakfast did not disappoint nor did it surprise; it was your old traditional Irish breakfast with hash browns, beans, tomatoes, eggs, toast… the full works. Not particularly sophisticated but done well. Coffee was good from one of those beautiful red and chrome barista coffee machines(was it Gaggia?). There was another bonus: power sockets! It was great to be able to recharge my batteries along with that of my smartphone thanks to the power sockets available around the place. Definitely on my go-to again list for doing a great job of all the basics and providing a cosy space in the middle of the city.

Great little spot for breakfast of a weekend. A very generous serving of scrambled eggs and toast set me back € 3.95 and my mate got a lovely full Irish for € 6.50. The coffee was great, however the orange juice was not the best(they were not included with the breakfast). The waitress was really friendly and the service was great. The café is nothing fancy but charming ;-)

This place might not be gourmet but the food is good, its tasty and its very reasonable! My friend and I went here for brunch and we both had poached eggs which came with toast, coffee and a croissant each and altogether it was € 14! The eggs were really tasty and cooked just the right amount for me and my coffee came in a big cup which is always much appreciated! Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere all add up to a thumbs up from me!
