I started visiting Munchies in Mayor Square as an alternative lunch place when I’m at work. I’m pleased to say that it has never disappointed me and I’m now a regular. Munchies’ menu is pretty massive and I haven’t made it through all of the different sandwiches on offer, suffice to say there’ll be something for everyone though, including extensive veggie options. The prices vary from around 4 € — 6 € which is on par with what you’d pay for nice pre packaged sandwiches, add about € 2 for a coffee. A quick note for anybody looking for somewhere to sit down, this Munchies is only a pick up and go place. The sandwiches are always well made by a friendly and helpful staff who I couldn’t fault. There is also coffee and smoothies available including a tasty Nutella latte! If you’re around the IFSC and want a good place to pick up a sandwich for lunch this would be my top recommendation, an all round great place for a quick lunch!

This is my go-to place when I need a little mid-morning, post-workout boost! The staff is very, very nice and the Porrige+Orange Juice combination is delicious(and good value, at just 3 €)!

I really like this Munchies shop, it’s a lot smaller than its counterpart across the bridge(next to The Ferryman) and not as busy. The girls who work here are all very very nice and make you feel truly welcome. At least it worked for me, because now it’s where I choose to have coffee after the gym and before going to work. The breakfast specials are good too, their porridge is very tasty and is served deliciously hot, I have it with a bit of honey and it’s perfect to take away walking or on the Luas. They make their own orange juice and have a decent selection of bottled«healthy» drinks. There’s a feel good vibe about this place and the smell in there is always comforting. It’s a nice addition to your morning(:

Goats cheese salad, water views, smiley faces and sunshine? Eh yes please! Ok so you might not always have the sunshine, but three out of four ain’t bad! I drifted in here yesterday after a meeting, guided only by my rumbling tummy and periphery view of glistening bowls of sauces and toppings. Oh how I love sauces and toppings. I was greated by all three members of staff upon my arrival, and there was lots of chat about the weather(sure you’re gonna get that anyway — rainy or sunny, we love a good meteorological chat, us Irish do!) I finally settled on the goat’s cheese salad, but asked for it with chicken. The lovely lady behind the counter proceeded to artfully put it all together(sun dried tomatoes, oven baked peppers, scallions, etc), then had a thought, and asked me if I’d prefer just one slice of goats cheese plus the chicken, instead of all the cheese plus the chicken, so I only have to pay the same amount and not extra. I loved this thought — how nice of her to put some brainpower(and economics!) into my salad! I availed of her offer, and glad I did! The lump of goat’s cheese I got was MASSIVE — in fact I didn’t even eat it all(grrrr damn you diet!), and with the chicken, it still cost me the same as the original price. And I got to sit on the benches outside at the water in the IFSC and feel pretty damn good about myself. I love you sunshine! Please stay! And you too Munchies!
