So I use O2 as my broadband provider because they have a super-cheap offer connected to my workplace(a university — students of many of the city’s universities can avail of a similar offer). I had signed up with them probably more than two years ago getting the deal of 10G for 10euro, and the little plug in dealio for mobile broadband. Considering how cheap it was and how small the thingy(yes, it’s a technical term!) I was always really happy with the service. Several times in the course of its little life I dropped the broadband dongle, usually while still attached to the computer, so it was already pretty bent. Then one faithful day(when I had just 3 episodes left of Breaking Bad on Netflix!) it fell from a greater height and got totally mangled and no longer worked(the laptop and my glasses, which also fell, remained unbroken — phew!). Anyways I needed a new one, so I went back to the original store. How did I think it would go? I thought they might charge me like a tenner for a new one or something like that, afterall its just a bit of plastic and metal. How did it actually go? It cost me nothing. They offered me a cheaper plan(15G for 10 euro) and gave me a free upgrade to a dealio that does the whole wifi thing… thus rendering it less likely for me to break the internet with just 3 crucial episodes of a gripping TV unwatched in future! How often in life do you actually get more than you expect to get! Staff were super-nice, really prompt and even sympathetic to my horrific Breaking Bad story.
