The biggest asshole was in front of me in line and he took like 80 minutes to finally getting around to explaining to the staff what was wrong with his computer. Ugh I hate people who are inconsiderate of peoples’ precious time. Anyway when I got to the counter I explained to the staff that my laptop’s hard drive had been slowly malfunctioning. It caused me delays between clicking and responding which is really annoying. Especially when you like to play a lot of online pool. The best version is 8ball on . The lack of speed also caused problems when opening files and I was worried that this might lead to files getting permanently stuck in limbo. And I don’t know how to upload files to an online cloud or drive box. This is all information that has passed me by since i started learning how to use a computer. They told me the hard drive was damaged and unfortunately you cant really repair them without losing a lot of data so I would have to save all the important information and documents I have onto an external hard drive. I could buy one from them but it would cost upwards of 50 euro and I would also have to pay for a new hard drive too which would be over 200 euro. I wasn’t sure what exactly to do, maybe just wait it out because i could still use the internet which is all i really use it for. I could just get the external hard drive and not bother replacing the hard drive until it gets really dire? At this point a customer behind me started bothering me about speeding up but how am I supposed to speed up when I’m trying to decide the fate of my laptop. Ugh I hate people who interrupt you like that. It’s so inconsiderate. So I decided to go with the external hard drive and save my files that way and come back when my computer needed replacing altogether. Because they said to replace the hard drive they would need to keep it in the shop over a few days, which I don’t need right now.

I drop into the shop on Dawson St occasionally when I get stuck for bits and piece or need working out a hardware problem, and the staff are great — really friendly and knowledgeable, and always willing to help puzzle things out if you have a problem. It’s a shame the lease is up and they’re having to move, but they are definitely worth the extra walk to Camden St!

I needed a battery replaced in an iPhone 4. I initially contacted Right Click through their website about this and I got a very quick response from them with all the details. I called in today for the replacement battery, for 49EUR and about 15 minutes of my time, I got the phone back. Included in this service is a 90 day warranty and the old battery too. They said that if the performance of the battery remains the same then the problem is most likely the phone and not the battery. Having original battery means I can bring it all back to them and they can investigate further. I never would have thought about it like this and am impressed that they did. Of course its in their best interests as it may result in more work on the phone, but I don’t think every other phone shop around would have thought to mention this and give the old battery back. But I could be wrong. The staff were all very courteous and nice to deal with. They have some items in stock that I wasn’t expecting to see, such as headphones. And the usual things, like ink cartridges. The latter I needed also, so stocked up on the full set of colours for our Epsom. As they were branded cartridges, they set me back 72EUR. OK, I could have gotten these cheaper online(roughly 60EUR), but getting them here meant I got them immediately and I’m supporting the local economy, which I like to do every now and then :) Regarding the price of the new battery replacement service, 50EUR seemed to be the going rate when I looked into this. Recommended. Nice people and a quality service.

Love this place, bossman Jazz, and the staff too. A sort of brilliantly competent, customer friendly version of the I.T. Crowd, they know their stuff, have everything you need, and can pretty much answer any home or SME computing question you have(or find out the answer for you, pretty quick. And how great to see they’re thriving and expanding too, always offering new services(cracked iPhones the latest) and products(iPads, accessories, mac repair) too. Says it all in these hard times. All you could want from an IT professional really!

The things I do to put smiles on peoples faces that does not involve transactions of the flesh sometimes leads to extreme situations, like Friday. The Elite Event was on Friday. Our very 1st Elite Event I might add and I will plug it once more here: Anyho I of course ran into a problem prior. The blasted projector would not project the film which I will admit caused me to curse too much and be very melodramatic, ‘It’s ruined, it’s all ruined… I don’t believe it!“ I shouted at my sister on the phone. She put me on to her boyfriend who talked about cables and ports till my head hurt. Then a moment of inspiration, Right Click. It was 6:30pm. I ran as fast as I could. I also had my hair curled like Shirley temple and was wearing my grungy clothes… I looked like a lunatic on acid as I bounced past staring pedestrians. The store was locked. I banged on the door till the startled shopkeeper came out. He was decked out in his motorcycle leathers and ready to go. ‘You have got to help me! I don’t understand.‘ So my sisters boyfriend explained the problem. He gave me a cable. ‘I already have this cable. He said you need that cable. You know what I need? No… I need you. Em… I need you to come with me to the projector. But I want to go home. No you need to come with me. Please. I might cry. Don’t cry. I just might cry if you don’t come with me.‘ So I walked with the man in leathers. We looked like deranged couple and viola he fixed the problem. And all that embarrassment for you my dear Unilocalers. Don’t ever say there is not a way, there is always a way! Thank you Right Click!

The selection here is great, the staff is knowledgeable and funny, but the prices are ridiculous. We need to buy a long USB cable and it was 5 times as expensive as it should have been. My boyfriend found it at another shop in Dublin 3 for way cheaper. Stay away from this place if you need parts or computer gear and head elsewhere or shop online. They might be worth it for computer repairs though.

Exceptionally helpful man, whom I presume is the owner, although the other lad didn’t really seem to know what was going on. They really went out of their way to help me, even going so far as calling their supplier. Still, I can’t find anyone who wants to sell me a decent sized external hard drive with firewire for a hundred yo-yos. Maybe it’s me who’s the problem. Are my standards to high?
