Frustrated would be the one-word summary. Came in on spec with two other hungry men on Friday night. Had been in similar establishments before so knew what to expect. Deal is you sit at the table with a card in front of you. One side green says ‘feed me’. Other side red says ‘I’m grand, thanks’. Waiter, spotting green flag dispenses copious amounts of meat of various dead, no doubt humanely killed, beasts of one kind or another. Firstly, though, punters encouraged to gorge on salads at the salad bar. This is a cunning plot to fill you up so you eat less of the expensive meat. I didn’t fall for that ploy but my companions did and declared the salads to be, well, salads. Having waited patiently, green flag flying, no sign of waiter was seen until said salads had been consumed. Having no plate in front of me, I was duly ignored whilst companions were given first morsels of meat to savour. Oversight corrected, we marvelled at the microscopic portions we were offered as the meal progressed, in most cases little more than a mouthful with long waits between visits. We waited ages for the chips we ordered which eventually turned up. They were raw, uncooked, inedible and were sent back to be replaced a good 10 minutes later. This whole palaver of reluctantly giving us food — which, by the way, was not at all bad when we eventually got any — was annoying in the extreme. We soldiered on for about 90 minutes begging at times for a second forkful of pork, beef or whatever. Eventually we were beaten into submission and left. Good food(I think), cynical policy of doling out tiny portions and shockingly bad service, this place could be a lot better.

This place is delicious, and clearly not a place for vegetarians. You have two cards on your table. Green for food. Red for no food. Simple! They have an all-you-can-eat type of thing for 32 euros per person. There is a salad and rice bar, and the waiters come to your table with a type of meat. The meat is soo good. I absolutely loved the food, but prepare for a food coma afterwards. The staff are friendly. We kept refusing the food at the end and were wondering why they kept coming back. Then we realized our card was set to green!

Amazing experience. We got there with a groupon and I am going back. They server a huge variety of delicious meat, picanha included, and the service couldn’t be better. A must try for meat-lovers.

We went here for New Year’s Eve after hearing a lot of good things and it didn’t disappoint. It’s definitely a place for meat-lovers! The food from the buffet was nice — plenty of flavours. The range of meat is bamboozeling. The staff were polite and friendly and it was not too loud. The only criticism would be that the deserts were only ok. Otherwise, a good-valve, pleasant night out!

Amazing meat and lovely staff! Went there with a discount voucher and loved it. The meat variety is ridiculous and loved that they bring them to your table right form the fire. They also explain the cuts very kindly since we were very curious about the. . The desert was also very nice and loved the warm pineapple with cinnamon.

Without a doubt one of the finest meals ive ever had in dublin. Went in here with a huge group of people we got loads of side orders and the staff were very helpful and prompt in parading various kinds of absolutely beautiful meats in front of us. The board outside said there were 14 different kinds and i can well believe it. I tried everything multiple times and it was all delicious. The salad bar stuff was good with some nice cheeses. I cant wait wait to go back here. The roasted pineapple and cheese balls were a big highlight too. I must say though the desserts were not that great and i wouldnt have them again

THEYHAVE14KINDSOFMEATANDTHEYBRINGITOUTONSPEARS! Yes very very excited about the meat which was wonderful and delicious and so was the service. I was however I’m not a fan of the bar with sides, it was just a very slim selection but maybe that is just me. The fries that were included when you had the meat were average at best. I will be back here for sure for more meaty goodness.

We dropped in here a few months back. The place is a real«classy joint» décor wise it rocks high ceilings, super clean its a spot where you could sit for hours(just aswell being an all you can eat!) The coffee was ok, but I wasnt there for the coffee– this is one thing and one thing only, meat lovers heaven… in style. There is a salad bar which works nice with all the MEAT… I was driving so I cant comment on the wine selection but it seems like there is loads to choose from. The food/meat itself was all cooked perfectly although you wont have a choice of medium/well done etc… If your happy to eat large loads of meat and have time to kill, chilling in a nicely styled restaurant you need to drop in here.

So. Much. Meat. Food is amazing. Really good value if you have a big appetite, not so great if you just want something modest. Also felt that there could have been quicker rotation of options. We were sitting in the outside area(which is lovely) and we felt a bit forgotten about. The staff always went to the same outdoor table first so we were always left without enough to go around our table. Would be better to visit different tables first each time. Otherwise highly recommend. Especially if you’re hungry.

Really looking forward to a return trip here! Amazing food, lovely staff and love the mid-century style décor. We came away with serious meat sweats but it was a brilliant food adventure.

There is a lot of places in Dublin if u want a Brazilian restaurant, but as a Brazilian person living in Ireland what i really missed is a proper rodizio churrascaria. For anyone not familiar with this type of restaurant its an all u can eat meat lover’s paradise. The basic idea is that u have a sign on ur table with 2 colours green and red as u probably already knw green is for go and red is stop. The waiters will walk around the restaurant with different types of meet if ur card is green they stop in ur table and if u think u need a brake u just turn to red, and when u feeling like u ready to go again u turn u card back to green. The meat was excellently cooked and they have a great variety of meat such as chicken, pork, beef also including chicken hearts, also have a salad buffet and chips so u dont have a meat overdose. I really like the staff they where really nice and generous with the«picanha» the best cut of meat in Brazil. Unfortunately they don’t have a full licence so they only can sell wine, so no proper caipirinha wich is a shame, and the desserts was disappointing considering how many good desserts we have in Brazil.

I really liked Rio Rodizio. I was really surprised when I walked in at the sheer scale of the place, and the manor in which they’ve decorated — very sleek, sophisticated, and modern — really unlike any churrascaria I’ve been to before. I was there on a Saturday night and it was absolutely heaving — they’re definitely doing something right! And what is this magic formula? — On a weekend, it’s 30 euro per person for all you can eat at the salad bar, cheese boards, meat, and desert. I believe it’s cheaper during the week as well — now that’s value — The food itself is of really great quality — the meat was delicous and tender, and the salad bar was excellent. I loved the inclusion of the cheese boards as well. — The staff(mostly Brazilian) are really smiley, welcoming and professional, and make it a pleasure to dine there. A few points that would prevent me from going the full hog to the five stars would be; 1. The meat was REALLY slow to come around. Any time I’ve been at a churrascaria before, you literally cannot fit any more in by the time you’ve left! We had a lot of long periods where we had no one coming to our table, and we’d all finished our plates of salads by the time even the first guy came round. 2. The deserts were ok — they tasted like they were perhaps bought in /frozen. I guess they aren’t the main attraction though, so maybe no biggie. Don’t get me wrong, they were still nice, but it would be nice to see a bit more attention to detail. 3. No rice and beans!!! Sad times! I was looking forward to some rice and beans or maybe some feijoada, but there was none :-(I did notice that they do have farofa though — I believe they didn’t have it when they opened, so that’s a plus at least!

Brazilian rodizios in my mind are synonym for two things: loads of meat and group dinners. Their performance on these two points is the main thing and Rio didn’t disappoint! On the other hand, I should warn that this isn’t the most inclusive restaurant in Dublin, if you’re a fussy eater, vegetarian or have other dietary requirements it may not be the ideal place for you. Most of the staff is indeed Brazilian and super amicable — a plus if you speak portuguese, eh -, the space looks very good and modern; I must say this is one of the nicest Rodizios I’ve been to. The ambiance music is really good too, playing artists like Seu Jorge or Chico Buarque. To the back there’s a nice and warm covered patio, used mostly as smoking area, with some seating. We were a very large group, about 30, and they managed to accommodate us, even if it took some moving around and dragging chairs. After that, everything flowed effortlessly. You go over to the salad bar and pick any sides you like, come back to the table, and pick the meats you’d like to try. The waiters only stop coming over to the table once everybody’s refusing more food and they don’t try to rush anything. In the meantime you have time to talk, try more stuff from the salad bar, have a little break and just enjoy your meal. The quality of the food was great, including most of the meats, with the exception of stuff like the chicken parmesan which was a bit of a let down comparing to the other grilled meats. In the end, to cleanse a bit your palate, they serve a delicious hot pineapple with cinnamon. We had a choice between two desserts — both were good — and also some coffee — though this wasn’t espresso, which was a bit of a faux-pas. We asked about some items like black beans, which are usually a side on these rodizios, and they explained to us that, while a lot of people had them in Brazil and etc, they were aiming for something that would please more the Irish palate and so included some other stuff in the salad bar. Fair play to them, but I still want my black beans and couve mineira :) All in all, a very good restaurant that I would recommend to anyone who isn’t scared of meat!

It’s my second time here, in the first time I couldn’t taste their food, but today we had a reservation. I couldn’t be happier, finally Dublin has a Churrascaria, and the place offers several cuts of meats, a salad counter and very friendly staff. This steak house is the place for meat lovers. It lacks of a dessert variety, however, my overall experience was really good.

We grabbed a bite here on Friday and had a nice time. The place appeared empty but when we got to the back there wasn’t an open table in sight! As most of the reviews mention they have an all inclusive menu that includes a salad bar, a variety of smoked meats and a dessert. They also have a few barrel wines to choose from which can be served by the glass, caraf or bottle. Some of the meats were better than others but I really enjoyed the salad bar and the dessert was delicious! We also really liked our wine — I think it was a red from Portugal maybe? At any rate, we received good service and had a nice time so we will return.

First time here this afternoon for their 19.95 all you can eat Rodizio. Outstanding value for money, and do come hungry. I would say more than half of the diners at Rio today were Brazilian, with most of the servers from Brazil too. This endorsement is testament to the draw of the food. Don’t come here if you don’t like meat, there is so much of it, brought continuously as long as you leave the card at your place setting green-side up, flip it to red, and there is a temporary respite. This restaurant has only been here for around 4 weeks, as a result there are a few rough edges, for example they are not licensed to sell any beer yet, however, they do have a very nice collection of wines on sale. Service is very attentive, and they ensure that you never run low on water or on chips; the servers look genuinely happy to serve you and will constantly tell you if the cut of meat they are bearing is particularly good. I am sure most of us won’t be coming here for the salad, however, the salad bar is excellent, well presented and very fresh; and it included a selection of 3 or so cheeses together with crackers, two different pâté’s and a nice selection of flavoured salts. A number of Brazilians commented on the lack of farofa(they do have farofa, just not as much as you would see in another Brazilian establishment), and there are no beans, which may be a good thing. The only rough bits, other than the lack of beer was wine glasses that had not been polished(but were clean) and they did not provide an ice bucket for a very expensive bottle if white(however, on asking they produced a make-shift one very quickly). For a new restaurant, this can be excused. Head over here if you want to eat lots and lots of meat, in a wonderful space. Bear in mind that parking is hard to come buy in this area, and you are better off arriving by bus(11) or taking the green line Luas to Ranelagh. Will definitely be back here again, this time with more friends.

This is Dublin’s first churrascaria(south american style rotisserie) and for a meat loving people it’s hard to understand how we managed without it. You fill your plate with salad and keep the card given to you green up to indicate you want meat brought to you or red up to indicate you need a respite from feasting. The meat was delicious and various. Sausage, beef and chicken were brought to us on the spit, very juicy and when spiced delicately so. More exotic to Irish palates were the chicken hearts, but even my offal sceptic wife loved them and ended up having four. The wine is on tap from the barrel and I would recommend the Portuguese red, very flavorful. They will be serving cocktails soon and I’m looking forward to trying their caipirinhas. The service was great, friendly and attentive, and there was a good buzzy atmosphere. Plenty of Brazilian customers in the place which in itself is a good recommendation. This place looks great and a lot of thought has gone into the design. The bar is decorated with azulejo, beautiful Portuguese tile work.

I could not wait to try this place. I love the rodizios in Brazil and i had high expectations. I was not disappointed. The meat was great, the salad were fresh and tasty. My Brazilian friends felt it was missing some rice and farofa but that would just leave less place for the meat if you ask me! The staff is very nice and attentive. Never left us short of fries or water. After a few rounds they knew what kind of meat we preferred and came back with our favourite cuts. The dessert is also included which is a nice touch. It is a thin slice of cake(chocolate or passion fruit the day I went there) but trust me you do not need more.
